Titan Fitness Leg Press Hack Squat Machine Review - My 6 Month Honest Update...
I will say Dude is pumping out products and seems to keep coming out with new offerings. I am personally just not interested in any of them. I am sure they are right for some people. I also have a flat bar from a different company that’s no longer really around, but the flat bar does provide a different feel for sure.
I am all for updates or innovation in the space and always think more options are better and let the people chose which ones fit their price, style, and needs. I am 99% I almost ordered that flat bar you are talking about but their website was also down when I was shopping around
I wish I could afford one but honestly, I think I’ll stick to planet fitness especially since if it breaks it’s on them haha
that is the downside once you get into any home cardio machine is the repair side. If you have one nearby, makes sense to use it
Mario's style and attention to detail is top notch
As a content creator at a minimum, I appreciate all the well lit photos of the equipment and their design with all the angled cutouts and aggressive or bold aesthetic. Even if the F6 pieces didn't function well (which per the review the ones here are solid), the look/design of most of their pieces and the marketing material is top notch.
There was a popup on their website that says if i sign up for their mailing list I get 10% off, but I have yet to get the discount code. What's up with that? Also, do they offer international shipping?
Not sure there, I can't speak to the discounts they offer. If you go to the support page you can email Force/Mario directly via email there. You would also have to ask about shipping since I am in US and didn't need to look into if that do that or not
Likes and subbed , thanks for the heads up
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching
Well this is unfortunate. I’m in western Canada and it’s not available at Walmart . Guess I’m buying a Powertec leg press ,but this sure looked like a good alternative, and cheaper. They do show one ,but it’s not even similar, and it’s 2600 bucks b4 tax
Oof, yeah at that price you definitely have to consider other options. Sorry to hear that!
Solo handle looks fine. D handle is gimmicky and the lack of rotation is perplexing. Flat handle is promising. I'd be interested in a comparison with MAGs. The latter looks more comfortable.
Interestingly enough I think the D handle is the best of the 3 if I had to keep only one...I really enjoy the fixed handle shaft and the fact they make movements feel significantly more solid. If you have ever used a machine or cable attachment with rotating or fixed handles it reminds me very similar
@TheJungleGymReviews A d handle that only works for non-rotational exercises seems just silly. And the shape is such that it appears to provide more of an angle before hitting your arm, but it doesn't actually, hence why I'd call it a gimmick.
These look great, but I’m not too crazy about those pins / rings on the inside of the handle. They look like they’re gonna dig into my hand when I’m doing presses and dumbbell curls. Still a very interesting set . I personally can also recommend the new PowerBlock commercial pro 100 . They are perfectly balanced and super smooth .
I haven't had an issue so far in the few months I have had them, but if you have really wide hands them maybe, but honestly the weight selector pop pins will probably hit your knuckles before the width of your hands hit the half weight detent pin/rings too. I definitely want to check out the Powerblock commercial ones so thanks for sharing that!
oh shilling products from the guy who ripped off Darko and PorterPhysed - great
He didn't rip off of porter , force6 had his deadblow for a long while
Real quick I would like to point out A.) I purchased these with my own money and B.) I have owned the lat bar for over a year, so I wouldn't personally consider either shilling, but you are entitled to your opinion. I also can't speak to the Darko situation as I don't know the details or whole story prior to a few weeks ago, but I CAN speak to the fact these products shown here in the review are both good quality and functionality which I think is always welcome in the home gym space. Anyways, Thanks for watching!
Force 6 is a skip from me. Personally not a fan of the owner and will gladly take my business elsewhere. Absolutely no knock on you nor your channel though, great quality as usual.
No worries at all, I definitely don’t take it personally since I don’t make the products or own the company obviously, just trying to provide some objective metrics and some subjective with my experience…but the final decision is in the hands of the viewer! So thanks again for explaining and thanks for coming back to keep watching too.
I agree. Products look fine, dude just rubs me the wrong way.
@@Ice_Box_Gym fair enough
Great video, gives all the info I need to purchase. How often are these on sale at Costco?
Thanks for watching and glad you liked it. It seems to me historically about once every few months or once a quarter is what it has been in the past where either it's on sale or you can get Costco cash card with purchase but YMMV.
On the D handle it would be nice if they rounded the rear part to contour to the shape of the forearm & even added sum type of material for cushion. So instead of avoiding/minimizing forearm contact embrass it so that we can actually use that extra leverage to explode our chest on flys. So awesome development as is but i still think it could be improved exponentially. Meaning currently it still makes u want to avoid contact but it was curved with foam/rubber insert you would embrace the contact like an arm sleeve or sum. Long winded I know, but thats kind of why I struggle to feel the contraction.
Oh I can totally see that idea, almost like a sports brace type thing. I like it, especially if there was a way to make it work well on both sides of your arm for like a pushing and pulling movement
Their squat wedge looks pretty unique and may be worth looking into
I saw that too. He does a good job with blending of functionality and aesthetics. next on my list is that flex arm first though!
I definitely like the force 6 fitness products. I’ve added several of their items to my workout routines.
Good review! They all look boujee and very expensive that might not appeal to most home gym users. There are alternatives much cheaper that functions similar or even better.
Thanks! That’s the cool thing about the market - each person can find what they want to prioritize and pick something accordingly. The offset handles in particular are something I haven’t seen anything like that and they have made the biggest difference to me if I had to pick or recommend one
Love the flat lat attachment. I'm going to need that now
Yeah definitely recommend it! It’s so interesting how your grip and angles can change the feel of an exercise by alot, and here in a good way. Plus It’s always good to have more variety
@TheJungleGymReviews i remember seeing mag grip make something like that but honestly this is one looks much better
Great review! The ISO handle is sold out but it's on my wishlist now.
@@henryquinones1912 thank you! I think I heard in passing they were restocking soon and when I looked at their website recently you can add your email to get notified. If you do end up wanting to get it, use my link to let them know I sent you! Appreciate you watching
The Porter Eclipse grip is a bit cheaper, and it's available
I haven’t seen much about that one, other than it looks solid. Just from a visual different it looks shorter and the base isn’t as wide, not sure what that means if anything in the real world too. Would love to see someone do a side by side
@@liftsalty I didn't know Porter made that attachment. I'll look into that one, thanks!
@@liftsalty yeah I ordered one from Porter physique currently he has black and clear as an option but I think he’s gonna be launching some more colors pretty soon so if he does, I’ll probably get one and one of the color options
How tall are you?
@@damionfragoso2655 6ft2
I didn’t even know if anyone can answer me, cause I really only have a few days, but I’m trying to decide between these ones and the Trulap for my husband‘s gift for his birthday. If anyone has any familiarity with it, please let me know here. Thanks.
Just based on specs alone, Trulap goes to 92LBS and depending on his strength the Pepins go up to 125LBS. I would say that’s consideration number 1. Otherwise I think the Pepins are a little more durable but for home gym use as long as they aren’t abused the Trulaps will still be very solid and they are a few hundred cheaper.
Great review, first time I’m hearing about dialed motion and am very impressed!
Thank you! Really great product, so I highly recommend for those looking to add more for their racks without having to spend a ton on full weight stacks for both side. Plus it’s just as smooth for 1/3 the cost
Good video just would be better if you said something different then what everyone else is saying
Thank you! Honestly I am not familiar with any other reviews of this machine or what everyone else is saying…these were my honest feedback and opinions after a few months. It boils down to that the machine itself is good, but it’s expensive and it’s not as versatile as a dedicate functional trainer, so it’s probably not choice or recommendation #1 for most people. there are alot of nuances to that statement so I tried to explain them best here. Thanks again for watching!
I’m sure that your wife’s parents would love to see this at the remote island cottage. It would be a perfect birthday gift 😊 Once again, great review Michael!
I’m still waiting on mine it’s been over 3 weeks I thought h was getting scammed how long did youres take for delivery
Mine took a couple of weeks. Funny enough I know Mikolo is based in China and it was holiday for them so wonder if that impacted your shipping at all. Have you reached out to their customer service team?
@ thanks for getting back about this yes I have emailed they sent me an order tracking number but I can’t use that anywhere I’ll just wait I guess I used a credit card and thought it was a scam site and alerted my credit card company so either way I can get my money back the only reason I went with this product was because you’re review I like the 1:1 ratio if it doesn’t work out I’ll get my money back and buy in America but there mostly 2:1 but I appreciate you’re Chanel and response you said you have to wait 3 weeks from the date of purchase?
@shaneferreira007 they should have US warehouses to ship them from. Did you use the correct link that I have in the video description here? I just want to make sure it was the correct website you used. Yes the 1:1 ratio option is definitely a good feature to have that many others don’t
@ yes when I click the link it has my order when I sign in. what’s the deal with the shopify?
@shaneferreira007 I’m not sure what you mean sorry - I am not in any way shape or form responsible for this product on their website. You need to contact them with any questions regarding Shopify
You show an adapter you are using at 3:21 in that has a bunch of holes for a lat pulldown. Can you provide a link to that adapter? Also, do you know if it will work on the SF3? That is really what I’m looking for- something for the SF3 for lat pulldown to use both stacks but hook on a single stack attachment to it
That one was the Gym Pin 30in d handle bar, model DBAR-30-LITE-BLK Yes I used it first with the SF3 so can guarantee it works there!
Leaning back is an old tried and true technique many bodybuilders swear by. Of course they'll want that feature on any machine they're looking at buying. How does somebody who reviews gym equipment not know this?
Hey thanks for the comment. I am somewhat familiar with the technique (seen it in videos, but don’t use it myself) but I don’t think it feels good on here idue to the fact the seat is slippery and pretty much flat and the handle positioning angles are on the shorter side. For me, this means I can’t meaningfully grab handles and brace my torso in this angled setting and instead I just am stopping myself from sliding out of the seat which makes it kind of impractical angle on this specific machine
Does anyone know how well it works for taller people? 6’4”
In case nobody else chimes in, I am 6ft2 and the two constraints I can think of would be pull-ups you have to do bent legs like me or might not work for you and the other would be that you might need to bend over or do kneeling tricep push downs. A third might be if you want to do calf raises with a block on the smith. Otherwise all your other movements are the same as any functional trainer or smith regardless of your height.
How does this compare to your standalone piece?
Resistance curve is a different because it's plate loaded and the seat and grip options are just what you can make of it. But I have had a few standalone pieces now anywhere from $300-$3000. For the price of ~$200 this really gets you to about 60-70% and what I call good enough, especially considering price and footprint. Even the $3000 machine is still only at 85 or 90% of a perfect machine in my eyes so really its diminishing returns after this attachment which can definitely get the job done for a long time.
Do you think you could do a video detailing the ins and outs of the partner mode?
Yes! I will make sure to go over that in depth in the next video. I really appreciate the suggestion, that’s exactly why I am doing this
Very nice setup. Have fun dude
Thank you and thanks for watching! Will do an updated one this year as alot is constantly changing for reviews
@TheJungleGymReviews nice bro, im gonna stay tuned. Really admire your creativity especially when working withsuch a small space. Keep up the good work dude
Speediance offered me one of these units to review as well and I slightly regret that it didn't work out
It’s definitely an interesting product but there is now are a million “reviews” on these machines from tech guys to comedy channels… In any case you should have done it! I personally wanted to get some honest feedback out there that I think this machine is only just for a very specific demographic of people, the machine itself works well but shelling out $3500 when you could build a pretty solid entire home gym for that, it needs some serious consideration But I really like more options and innovation for people to choose from but wonder if they will still be in people’s basement 20 years from now!
Does the selector lock in? If I do a dumbell snatch will it pop out?
The selector does lock in, but you can unlock it if you hit it somehow with your hands and knuckles. I would not recommend dynamic movements with this for that reason, there is a risk, albeit small that you could unlock the weight selector lock, and if you moved the selector bar somehow or it just slid due to momentum then plates could fall out. It’s unlikely but i wouldn’t do that movement with these
Great video, I’m looking to get a Gym Monster very soon. I’m stuck between saving the money and getting the GM1 on sale, or do you believe the GM2 is worth the price difference?
Thanks so much! If it were me personally, and I was set on getting one of these, I would go with the Gym Monster 1 and save $1000 because the functionality is the same minus one additional height adjustable option. The GM1 has 10 and the GM2 has 11. Otherwise everything is essentially the same performance wise so I see no need to spend the extra $$
@@TheJungleGymReviews One more difference to the M1 i must mention; Gym monster 2 seems to operate "smoother" do to upgraded motors. That and the top height difference for the pulley attachment. Plus i believe there was also a difference in the pulley adjustment for rowing but not too sure about that one.
@@f.v.s.7107 thanks for clarifying that for me. I didn't own the 1 but going off what I could see online as far as general specs. Likely same for some of the other stuff that they made incremental change to other parts to feel or function better as well
Keep killing it Michael!
Thanks so much! Plenty of great products/reviews already planned every week through June. Sometimes I wish I could get 2 videos out a eeek because I enjoy making them and sharing them, oh well
Great content. Requesting immediate review of the Prime Smart Arm! :D
Thank you! And I would love to review that, let me see what I can do 💪
Quality of content is nuts. Keep it up man, hoping you start getting the recognition you deserve. Also, laughed at the kiddos playing in the room in that one shot 😂
Thank you so much! This comment made my weekend - I appreciate people noticing the time, energy, effort that goes into the filming and production of the videos. I enjoy keeping them high quality for everyone! And oh yeah, mom was out of town and Dad was trying to get in one of his first Speediance workouts, a little stressful but we move haha
Chinese engineering 😂. Weird angles and uneven leg bar. Who needs even angles for bilateral motion. I haven’t seen any of these really cost effective options on leg machines not have an issue with the leg bar having serious bar flex.
Yeah the flexing kind of goes with the territory for the “budget” machines in this category unfortunately since being cheap = thinner gauge metal, maybe bigger tolerances, and parts in general that are not made to go heavy. Although I will say do appreciate there at least being machines in this option for people who maybe aren’t that strong (like myself 😂) or just need something to get the job done. Plus hopefully it drives innovation and competition for other brands to come out with better versions. We went from have like no plate loaded leg ext/curl options over the last few years and now companies are coming out with more in different price and quality ranges so I like that
Hello! Would the bar fit, a 48.5 inch rack? Made sure to measure the jcups from end to end. I am considering this bar for how light and customizable this is.
@@brainymeathead9206 yes! The rack I displayed it on here is 49 inches outside to outside, and the bar clearly had another inch or two or room on either side before the bend 48.5 is even shorter, so yes it will fit
@ thanks for the feedback man! 🦾🦾🦾
@@brainymeathead9206 welcome!
Which mirrors from Lowe’s or Home Depot did you purchase? Link? And how high up off the ground did you install? Thanks!
Can’t link in comments. Lowe’s item number is 5241487 Installed 19 in off the ground
@ appreciate that! Any reason 19 inches specifically? I’m trying to find the right height so I don’t have regret and can avoid a do over once they’re installed
@chillmoney89 I stood where I would normally be exercising in the middle of the room. Had my buddy hold up the mirror to the height where I would be able to see my whole body feet to head with equal space on top. ~standing 5ft in front of the mirror at 6ft2 tall, 19 inches was the height that accomplished that With a 5 foot tall mirror you can see way more of your body than you think. So if you did 16 or 24 inches it won’t matter much
@ thank you sir
@chillmoney89 welcome! Hope it all goes well for you. The mirrors are definitely great value
Can the pull up bar be installed upside down or would it interfere with the smith bar locking mechanism?
You should be able to mount it upside down but the handles would have to face the wall side to not hit the smith.
@@TheJungleGymReviews Okay so be clear those T-handles wouldn't interfere? I will definitely grab one of these if this is doable, just need to be sure. Also if reversing it is fine, does the storage racking become a problem for pull ups or is there room back there?
@@robertblack4262 I haven’t tried to install mine upside down so I can’t personally guarantee it will work, and unfortunately I have the machine apart right now due to other equipment reviews so I can’t verify. All I can say is the brackets are square meaning you CAN flip the pull up bar upside down, and clearly you can’t have the handles face the front due to the smith bar, and in theory it should work facing the back wall (as oriented in the video). You could maybe call Inspire to ask but I assume they will give you the “our pull up bar is meant to be oriented in one way only answer. Sorry I can’t give you a definitive answer on that but just want to be transparent
Great video! What type of tape did you use for the mats?
I searched the comments and saw the answer. Thanks!
You are welcome, let me know if you have any other questions
How far apart are the holes that mount the pull up bar to the rack?
@@MrJBlich approximately 6 inches on center for the mounting holes. It’s metric so might be slightly slightly less I think metric that’s 5.9 inches (metric is REP and Titan/imported rack spacing)
@ thank you!!
How is bench pressing on this for shoulders? I’ve read that straight line isn’t natural and can be problematic for shoulders. I don’t have one to try before I buy. I tend to have frozen shoulder a bit but I make do on seated chest presses. Any thoughts from folks on flat or incline bench press with the smith and whether or not it drives shoulder issues?
I think it’s a matter of preference, there are straight and angled smith machines in every commercial gym and some people like straight or angled for specific movements. I watched a gym tour where Mr. Olympia Chris Bumstead specifically bought a straight smith in his personal gym because he doesn’t like how the angled ones feel. I haven’t developed or noticed anything negative as far as shoulder pain after benching with it for a couple years, the other benefit to straight smith is that you can use it facing either direction
Awesome in depth review of our SS4 bar! We put a lot of feedback from the community into this bar and we are so glad to see the features being showcased so well. 😄💪 We hope our bar serves you long and well!
Thank you! you can definitely tell you put alot of feature and quality together all for a really really good price. It's been going strong for a year so far and should be for many more to come
Can you move the two pulleys independently of each other up and down? Unless I missed it, I don't think you went over that. It's currently $1,999 CAD ($1,400 USD) at Costco, so I am considering this one to replace my single arm pulldown machine.
Yep each side can be moved individual up and down just like a normal functional trainer.
@@TheJungleGymReviews Ok, thanks for the reply. I assumed they could, but wanted to be sure.
@karlhungus545 no problem, glad you asked me to clarify. If you have any other questions please let me know!
To expensive a price would be $1500-1800 it would sale quickly just saying
dude, genius! Great review thanks for the insight.
thank you and you are welcome! let me know if you have any questions, always happy to share my opinion or perspective
finally an honest feedback saying what i thought just looking at it, its just a pelaton basically massively overpriced made by nerds not gym bros
I have a full review dropping a week from today. The summary is: if you need a home gym, you will save money by getting something mechanical (rack, free weights, and/or trainer). But if you don’t have space and/or you specifically want classes or tech integration, this machine performs well It’s expensive due to the tech integration, but it performs exactly as it intends to, so the decision should be based on the users need for gym equipment, rather than this is a one-size-fits all home gym for everyone everywhere (which I think is how it’s being framed as via marketing)
Seems great!! The ones I’ve tried were always too big and heavy. This seems reasonable for us light weights lol Great review!
Thanks Mark! I always felt so weak using the REP SSB because 1.) SSBs make squats harder so you have to use lower overall weight and 2.) couple with the 70LB starting weight, make me always feel like I had my warm weights on the bar ha
I didn't know Titan finally allowed orders of rack posts. They told me no for crossmembers multiple times a few years ago lol. Never ordered from them again because of it!
Yep! It’s slightly difficult because you have to exchange emails rather than natively on the website - I assume they would prefer you not to and therefore don’t advertise. But I have done it now about 3 times with success in the last couple years
Did this get shipped on a palette or a dozen separate boxes?
A single pallet/crate. Shipped via Walmart freight and they bring it up to your garage
Thanks! I would have reshipped it to Canada, but it's back up to $1699 😪
@@Jay-bo1gs Noooo! keep an eye out, I have a feeling it's not going anywhere and price will probably drop again throughout the year. fingers crossed.
