Medical community and pharmaceuticals harm so much without giving proper information about the side effects of these mind altering medicines. Benzo withdrawal can kill you, be careful to anyone that's been on them long term and wants to cold turkey it.

I cold turkeyed 16mg of Subutex after a decade on it. That was a bad withdrawal. It still doesn't even come close to what I've experienced going through benzo withdrawal. It is worse than any opiate withdrawal I've been through by 100 times and also goes on and on and on. I'm tapering V now and even 1% cuts are as bad as or worse than cold turkeying opiates.

First time on Valium in 2017 for 4 month 5-10mg i cold turkeyd with help of gabapentin no problem. Only 2-3 sleepless night's with some shouldermuscle pain. I got Flexeril for that. 2nd time in 2024 9 days Ativan 1.5mg daily and i am tapering now for 1 month to stop because i developed Akathisia when stopping cold turkey on day 10! Went back on and am watertapering Ativan (5xper day doses). Anybody please explain this! Btw the Akathisia stopped when reinstating and never came back during taper yet i had all kinds of symptoms except severe panic, severe insomnia, DPDR, ruminating thoughts or any phobias or sound, light sensitivities. So basically nearly no mental issues except for feeling down. But nausea, dizzyness, musclepain, throatpain, flu like feeling, exhaustion, vivid dreams, faster heartbeat shortly before next dose, tinnitus, face burning, mild depression, no appetite. GI and now dizzyness the most lasting issues.

Wow thats a LOT of progress!! It really is. I must have been kindled from previous Valium years ago so I took now for about 10 days ATIVAN and now have to taper for 1 month! Once you are done never ever take another benzo more than ONE TIME IN HOSPITAL IF REALLY NEEDED. that is all I can take without issues apparently or my body will latch on immidiayely nearly! I'm stunned! Having to taper because of only 10 days low dose Ativan. Are you serious? I'm down to equivalent 0.5mg valium and still have to watertaper mini doses due to dizzyness , musclepain and nausea!! I do have some preexisting healthissues making this worse though but I am thinking I'm kindled even i seemingly got of valium with no issues last time. Was on it for 4 months and got off only with gabapentin and now totally different. I don't know why!

How long did you take them? I was taking 6-8mg bars for around 3-4 weeks. Tapering with klonopin. a week yesterday I took 4mg klonopin, today 2, tomorrow, 2, wed .5 and done. Thoughts?

Your brain will normalize over time. Keep it up. It’s a long azz road for some of us. You will get over this. You are young and have your whole life in front of you. I’ve made it through. It was a long complicated recovery, but it did happen. The one thing that really surprised me was how sometimes a seemingly small cut could throw me for a loop. Keep on going one step at a time. And remember, Never, Ever, Give up. It will be worth it.

We are all wired very differently and there is a spectrum on everything. We are all effected very differently from all foods and all drugs. No one since human existence can take credit for anything in life. You do not get to pick and choose who and what you become in life. Everything in life is all chance and luck. You can not take credit for your success, achievements, personality, looks, IQ, height, genetics, thoughts and all the hard work that you put in to become successful. You cannot take credit for who you are. Only psychopaths and Narcissistic and those who have the Kanye West god complex thing going on will deny this hard to swallow truth

I don’t think you’re tapering correctly. Give us more info. How many mg are u on? Which benzo? What’s your tapering plan?

It is horrible. I have never experienced anything like this. O e minute you are afraid that you are dying the next you want to die. You cannot control your brain. Your brain tells you and makes your body abd mind go crazy. We all should get compensated for what these pills did to us all. No warning !

I’m down to 2.5 mg of Diazepam. I have been tapering for over a year from 10 mg. I’m experiencing protracted withdrawal symptoms daily. I have been following the Ashton method for the last half of my taper. It says I should taper 1 mg every two weeks. Is that what you are doing? I’m obviously taking more time in between each taper when I have severe side effects. I’m just curious if I should prolong it or just keep trying to taper the last two milligrams?

As soon as I wake up this horrible anxiety builds up. Every day. I'm forced to do intense breathing techniques. When it's mitigated I'm left with a low self esteem and a bad cognition. And it will start over in the afternoon. My days are counted. Was kicked out of clinic. Telling me it's all in my head.

Thank you for this video, Patrick. The so-called doctors should see how much pain they cause. It's incredible that they still don't believe it. Unfortunately, I was so depersonalized that I could not hold a phone in my hand. I went through Effexor withdrawal, it's crazy stuff. I feel much better now, but I am still healing and living with the consequences. A big hug from Italy!

You can do it. I've got 7 years in December from Klonopin and Xanax, quiting was really hard. I went thru 2 years of terrible vertigo and body spasms but it was worth it. What triggered the journey was I couldn't skateboard anymore because I had severe "benzo brain". After the 2 year mark it does start to get exponentially better, I know from personal experience.

Im in it. Its really bad. Too fast taper after 15 year use sertraline. You seem to hade done a better taper. My injury is too bad. Good to see you a little better!

compared to opiate withdrawal benzos were forsure WAY easier to get over for me but i am so happy for you man i'm glad to see you are taking control over your life again!

It gets better for sure. But its hell for 6+ months. It sucks that Opioid dependency gets all the awareness and interventions. But keep it up! You’ve got many who have made it to the other side. The Ashton Manual protocol for withdrawal does have you switch to valium. Its online free for guidance.

You know what i noticed? I never see black people going threw this stuff. Wonder why.

W/d process recovery 1.take some vitamins..b12 etc 2.eat less and go for more fruties and protien ..eat brown rice and look for fiber ..remember dont take high fiber 3.try to sleep for 8 hours ..turn lights off .. 4.due to high gaba supresson there may be motor problem 5.check for inflamation 6.GI disturbances ..take probiotic look for other symptoms 7.dont eat sugar or chocolates wheat based food bread etc or any processed item ..as this may cause more inflamtion 8.try reducing stress at best 9.check for mouth infection or upper respiratory infection 10.check for vitamin profile 11.dont do over excersize or over walk ..just start walking for 1 minute then gradually improve it to 2 3 4 5 6 each day or one day after another .. Have good healing ..
