15 min 22 sec…….you live nearby the coast…. I hear a seagull. They sound different from inland gulls. Job is ok. Try next time citric acid solved in water for all brass and also silver. About 50/60 grams - 5 liter water. You can play with that. It saves you the little rotating tools . Regards Jeff
Brilliant job great video good information given
👍👍👍👍👍👍😁
Steel wool? Scratches the hell out of brass.
Yes, but as you can see it polished up beautifully, steel wool removed all the dirt and tarnishing.
Depends on the steel wool. Take extra fine 000
You know it! I have lots of different grades of steel wool for this reason.
@@stusrestohut858😊 I fixed up some of these. Practically immortal. Jet must be ok an washer may be replaced.
@@frumiousbandersnatch7064 they’re so much fun to restore, I particularly like polishing the brass though, such a nice process to it.
Lego, wine and fire! What a combination!
Keeping busy then? Brill. 😊
Yeah, trying to anyway!
Nice
Looks great
Cheers Paul! Glad you enjoyed it.
What is the liquid you put on?
It’s a special oil for the whetstone to help sharpen the blade.
Well that makes sense
@@caggiegc I guess it does when you know!
Lovin it ❤
Thank you! Glad you like it.
Love the vids Stu
Thank you, I’m trying to do a few more shorts until I have a bit more decent content for you guys, fingers crossed you all like it?
I do like a good vice
Me too! See my next video for more vice content 🤣
Would like to see more restos like this!
I’ll see what I can find in the shed! Do you prefer shorts or longer videos?
@@stusrestohut858 shorts are handy if I don’t have much time but longer ones are good when I have more :)
Great to know, thanks for the feedback!
Can see why you needed bucket loads of wd40!
🤣 yeah it was pretty solid! Took about 10 minutes with the burner too.
That’s pretty stuck!
Yeah, it was pretty ceased up, glad I got it freed off in the end.
Thank you for the comment, can you translate to your language or not?
@@stusrestohut858 To be honest, I was too lazy to translate. I don't even know what this is and why it's in my recommendations. I just saw something resembling a sickle and wrote some nonsense. P.S. I translated, and WHAT IS THIS? AAAA!
It’s an old g clamp, I’m going to use it for holding my portable vice down to my workbench, it will be perfect. Thanks for watching though!
I think this is contributing to flooding 😂
Maybe so 🤣
Nicely done, not over the top👍
Thank you! I still like to see the years of use on these items I restore!
This is a 00 Optimus kerosene stove in production in Sweden since the end of the Great War I have one since 1970. It may have been made as a store brand “RM” but is identical Now made in Estonia. Bullet proof. You can get kits for the all the seals. The chain is handy but some consumer added item. To light use light fluid or denatured alcohol in the cup to vaporize the fuel have the small screw open once the kerosene e vapors ignite give. It a few pumps. Liquid kerosene will not light and if you getting that or “flooding” you did not vaporize the fuel and start over
Thanks for the info, I’ve no idea about the chain, it’s been like that since I was a kid (this resto was for my mum). Thanks for the comments though!
Cool I got 95 anniversary one
Nice! I’m a sucker for their stuff!
Like a magpie!
You know it 🤣
Shiny!
Thanks! I do love it shiny. 🤣
Restore, nothing better than a awesome tool that looks and works great
I think this will be my plan. Let’s see what happens when it comes around to it.
Nice job!
Thanks!
Looking good
Thank you! Cheers!
Keep some patina but restore handle
Interesting, I’d never thought of splitting it like that.
Absolutely brilliant video!👍
Thank you!
Beautiful 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you, Tony!
Hi good morning I’m French and I restart a French TEA-20 from 1955. Recently I brought a new Zenith 24T-2 Carburetter and a new decanter. My question is how to connect the fuel hose in the Zenith and on the other side in the decanter? Because nothing fit actually with my French hose. Did I need to restart from a soft hose and adapter? Thankfully
I think I understand, so you have a new tank and new carburettor? you’re best off finding pipe that will fit both with the required banjo and it should be okay.
@@stusrestohut858 yes but did u know where I can find the exact reference? Diameter? For the Zénith and for de decanter? Because Zenith don’t give information about the fuel intake require to connect the tank
It’s M12X1.25
Cool ! Thanks.
You’re welcome!
Merci
You’re welcome.
When can we see it working?
+uncled39 sorry for the late reply, I didn’t see it! I’ll do a short with it at some point to see how well it works.
Lively such a good helpfull job
You’re welcome, glad you found the video helpful! Thanks for watching, Jasbir.
Bravo, well done!
Thank you so much!
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to watch my video! One year and 13k views is amazing for my little channel :) any questions then please ask! Stu.
I guess we all have different versions of what we call restored. My preference is to make them look great, so good paint, no rust but leave the patina otherwise you’re wiping away the history of the product. Thanks for the comments.
Nice job
Thank you for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed it.
Epoxy to hold metal together?
Yeah, it’s been absolutely fine. In an ideal world I would have welded it but the person I did it for doesn’t use it for heavy work so the repair I did will be good for years to come.
@@stusrestohut858 well, I suppose if it's holding up then 'ell yea. Good work though, and thanks for the vid
File in one direction only.
Thanks for the comment, I have to disagree, I file in different directions so I can see where I’ve been and how much metal I’m taking off.
I’m sorry but it already has a home. Keep your eyes peeled though as I will be doing another one soon.
@@stusrestohut858 terima kasih.semua terjadi karena ketidak mampuan saya pribadi.😢
Nice job when I am stressed out I Pic a video like this it is very relaxing all the best
Thank you! I really enjoyed it too
Hi, unfortunately I can’t give you this tool, it was done for a good friend of mine and it’s hers! Sorry to disappoint
Amateur
Do you need a cuddle or something? 🤣
@@stusrestohut858 it would be good.
+LO MF lol, deal!
Stu your camera is vibrating I think you should mount it elsewhere than it is now
Thank you for the comments, yes it is, I’ve been looking for another solution, I can’t seem to stop the vibration in some scenes unfortunately.
Excellent job! It looks great…keep up the good work.
Thank you for the kind comments, Carlos!
It could have used a little more grinding around the jaws and top to get more of the pitting out. Nice job.
Thanks for the comments! As always there’s only so far you can go with a restoration before it’s brand new and also budget constraints from the customer too!
Sweet 👍🏻 👍🏻
Thanks!
Great job buddy.
Thank you, Cecil!
Reveal your face
🤣🤣 maybe one day but I’m not sure the world is ready for that!
