    Awesome Stuff. You just saved my bacon with the Missus! You sir are a gentleman... The second method worked for me, the first one may have too as I noticed the key hole was upside down. So I turned it with my thumbnail, push the broken key in as far as it would go. Went outside, closed the door and put the other key in a bit and bashed it as you just showed and... Wham, the broken key popped out. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you..... You deserve more Subscribers just for this video alone. AAA+++ 😁👍

    I have exactly this problem. Exact same pump and exact same honeywell system. Will try it Question. Pump on fasted speed now fails and makes awful loud pumping vibration sound. Like its about tk blow up. Speed 1 or 2 (lower) makes it work again but clatters. Is that issue related. Its like the water cant flow around the system properly as rads are cold so fast pump speed leads to lack of water inflow?? Just started happening but pump is clacking and all downstairs rads are stone cold. Upstairs all work ok Big thanks

      Hi there, If you have followed my video the next step would be to check your F & E tank in the loft (the small tank.) The issue maybe that the ballvalve/ballcock has failed. So a few things to check: 1. To check if the ballvalve/ballcock is working press down on the arm, if water comes out that's good, when you let go the water should stop. If not you will need to replace the ballvalve/ballcock. 2. Within the F & E tank check that the water level is above the outlet. (The outlet is normally located about 2 inches from the bottom of the tank) Sometimes the outlet may be blocked and the tank may need cleaning. If you have any further issues best thing to do would be to drop me a video and i'll assist further. All the best.

    Should you not use PTFE tape over the thread to ensure it's sealed?

    • @diyshop839
      @diyshop839 Місяць тому

      Hi there, In this application ptfe tape would not be necessary, as the rubber seal/washer creates a water tight seal. All the best.

    • @diyshop839
      @diyshop839 Місяць тому

      Hi there, Judging from what has happened. I would say that your heating or hot water was on at the time. Therefore your pump is working fine as its pumping the water around the system. All the best.

      Sometimes that's the reality of plumbing in the real world. And if you haven't got a blow torch and a heat mat then this is what you're faced with. Some pipes have several layers of paint in some cases you will have one coat of paint and it won't take as long.

    Actually it shows what's wrong and why the radiator won't turn off. Replacement as shown at £6 or so is the best idea since WD40 penetrating oil only helps for a short time before the problem returns. Word to the wise, the radiator valve instructions do not recommend using any tools to do up the ring with only hand tightening being enough as there no leakage dangers involved here. If the valve is on Five then it's easier to remove but if it's stuck on Zero and very tight, pliers or grips may be used to free the ring on condition that you wrap a small piece of cloth around it to avoid the creation of metal skerfs. You will always use your fingers to tighten it up...... ouch! Found out the hard way and had to borrow my wife's tweezers to remove them from my finger.

      Hi there, My videos are clear and concise, if you follow the steps as advised then it will be successful. However if you know so much why are you watching my expert videos in the first place. Unfortunately I can't provide common sense as its not part of the process and clearly you don't have any.

    • @fabianmckenna8197
      @fabianmckenna8197 Місяць тому

      @diyshop839 Your expert video advises using pliers or grips which is not recommended by the manufacturers. I'm advising people watching your expert video not to do so or if pliers are indeed required, then some cushioning will avoid cutting up the soft metal ring, keeping it safe for future use. Hand tightening of the ring is all that's required as you're not trying to crush an olive on a water pipe connection. That is just common sense but we can leave it to the viewing public to decide whether to follow your expert advice or my DIY experience of changing the same radiator valve.

    • @diyshop839
      @diyshop839 Місяць тому

      Hi there, Clearly you have no common sense or diy knowledge. The radiator valve may be tight in the first place that's why you need the water pump pliers. You state that there is a chance of crushing a olive, however there is no olive there. This is why you are a idiot and I'm a expert.

    • @diyshop839
      @diyshop839 3 місяці тому

      Hi there, you can try limescale remover you will need to leave it between 30 minutes to 1 hour to work. As a last resort you can drill the screw out, or use a junior hacksaw to cut a line on the screw and then use a flat head screwdriver to turn it. unfotunately a bit messy but one of those things.

    • @diyshop839
      @diyshop839 3 місяці тому

      Hi there, This could be a number of things however here are a few. 1) Hot water cylinder could be full of limescale and would need replacing. 2) the element in the hot water cylinder is faulty. 3) the thermostat attached to the hot water cylinder is faulty. 4) the diverter valve may need replacing. Unfortunately You would need to pay for a call out.
