Moving to our new home in Japan | From Tokyo to rural Saitama | DISCOVERING JAPAN
We have finally done it! After 6 months of searching we found a place that fits our budget and our life style. Both of us love nature and would like to spend more time outside bird watching and hiking! But today's video is not a house tour but rather about the process of moving houses in Japan. ENJOY!

Five bedrooms house for $44,000? Is it possible? Worth the investment?

We are going further away, to Ibaraki prefecture. It is still within a 2-hour train ride from central Tokyo, which is a requirement for me. The house is very cheap and also very close to the station! But is it really that good or maybe we better get something else?

We are still looking to buy an apartment not far away from Tokyo, on a budget. One particular offer caught my eye and we decided to check it out. The proximity to the rail tracks worried me, but little did I know that would be the least of my worries....
Tokyo 3 room apartment for only $500 rent??? My Tokyo house tour!

Today I will show you the apartment we are trying to leave when we buy our own. We have lived there for one and a half years already and generally like it but would like our own place. Costing 75,000 yen per month, considering its size, location, and accessibility, it is considered very cheap. Some one-room apartments in Tokyo cost more than that. So, welcome to my home!
Too good to be true?? Buying a house in Japan...

We went to Saytama this week to see a two-story house for a beautiful price (around $65,000). It seemed to have everything: proximity to the train station, school, supermarket, and a furniture store. I was very excited and was ready to tell them I wanted to buy it. But then my wife told me about one detail...
I am buying a haunted house in Japan?!
Переглядів 3,4 тис.Рік тому
We are looking to buy a house and settle down, but the prices in Tokyo are very high, and there is no real need for me to live there as I work from home. So we started looking for options in the rural areas and discovered a suspiciously cheap house....
DISCOVERING JAPAN | Tokyo Port Wild Bird Park

In this video, we went to see birds in their natural habitat in Tokyo Port Wild Bird Park. Although it is hard to call this place rural, it is not a common tourist location. Most people who come here are birding enthusiasts but bird watching can also be enjoyed by the common folks like us and does not require special equipment, although bringing your own binoculars is a huge plus. Enjoy!

We have visited a very famous tourist spot of Tsukiji, have tasted some sea food and also went to not-so well-known Tokugawa Ieyasu's park where he used to take walks, rest and write Haiku poetry. We did not write any Haikus but we did enjoy some great Japanese Green tea.

After the Nikon 10-20x50 Action I bought in a second-hand store here in Japan disassembled in my hands after two weeks of use, I decided to buy a new pair of binoculars. Helios brand seems to specialize in astronomy so I went for that, although I plan on taking them on all of my trips and not limit myself to stargazing. I also bought a Vismix harness to keep my hands free. First Light Optics (n...
DISCOVERING RURAL JAPAN | Yukari, Chiba

We are currently looking to buy an apartment in Japan but due to our limited budget, our options are located in more rural parts of eastern Japan, 2 to 3 hours away from the center of Tokyo on train. Thanks to the good train infrastructure, it is easy to travel in Japan only by train and have fun. This is our trip to Yukari, Chiba.

      I decided what is important for me and what is not. I wanted to be able to travel to my office without train changes (which ended up being not important at all). Then we decided on the Business budget - 80000 tops. We started looking on homes.co.jp, found some places we liked and contacted the agent. They showed us some more offers in that area. Eventually we made a 2 day trip from Fukuoka to see the apartments in person and decided on this one.

    The one thing to remember is remodeling can be done over time,fix the most critical issues to be able to move in and over time save up and do a couple projects till the home is perfect. The first home a a deep cleaning and some paint and have the house blessed and you will never regret it ,easy to find the owner of the shrine ground in the locl goverment lnd office,coulf be bought and made into a nice garden space..

      Hey, thanks for watching! I work remotely as a software developer. My wife works part time as an accountant in a nearby shopping mall. My wife speaks only Japanese. I have studied for two years in Japanese language school in Fukuoka, it was my choice because I wanted to do something new. After I finished the studies I started looking for work and found the company I work for for now, they asked me to move to Tokyo. I am far from fluent, especially when it comes to reading but I get by one way or another.

      @@DiscoveringRuralJapan that is amazing, sounds like a journey! And you are living in Tokyo as well, the dream city!! Happy for you! Did you feel like having a Japanese wife made it easier for you to integrate into japanese society? As opposed to a foreign couple trying to move to Japan but is just starting to learn the language?

    • @DiscoveringRuralJapan
      @DiscoveringRuralJapan Рік тому

      Actually the reason I was looking for a girlfriend in Fukuoka in the first place was to practice my Japanese :D Languages are like STDs - they are waaaay easier to learn if you speak it daily with your partner. So yeah, having a Japanese wife helped me a lot. Actually in my school a good percentage of people who passed JLPT N2 level test were dating Japanese.

    • @LiveFreeForLife
      @LiveFreeForLife Рік тому

      @@DiscoveringRuralJapan haha that absolutely makes sense! Not only do you get the Japanese girlfriend experience and everything that comes with it but you also get to practice and learn the language easier. I guess it would be much more difficult for foreign couples then, since they can't find a new japanese partner anymore lol

    A fresh coat of paint and new floorng and new kitchen appliances woul make this a nice cozy home. I kije this in because it in a quite are were a person can wander outside and not be around many people. with the amout of space this offers it allows a family to grow . If you could buy the land next door that would be nice. This is the best kitchen dining livin area I have seen in any the home so far. Doing the basics to make the home fresh and liveable for now one can save up and do upgrades over time instead of going into debt up front.
