Thank you for this information..Im 66 and need extra income and am looking how to use the platforms to bring me business. I'm overwhelmed and underconfident lol , have not started candles yet , although that was the starting point , very expensive Do people prefer the bars over a flower or does it matter ? I thinking of not continuing with the plastic container there's not a lot of profit but like you its the volume of buyers. and Dude candles used the Facebook ads as well and his sales grew immensely,, the video was great i will subscribe and have a video marathon lol
Thank you! You need to find a niche to target. Don't try and be a general home fragrance brand because you'll get lost in the sea of others. Find a niche and create products for them.
i feel that buying fragrance oils is somehow more boring than saving money. seems less fun than collecting stamps to be honest.

Hi Paul, What type of Facebook ads do you recommend? Videos, static images, engagement ads or conversion ads?
Definitely conversion ads, as ultimately that's the goal. We tested loads of variations and they always perform the best. For the creative have a mix of video and images so you can test them out and see which performs best. I recommend taking a look at the Advantage+ Campaign strategy which Facebook offers, as that makes it much easier for you to create campaigns and they work well.

Hi, yes definitely. They need to see the actual product they will be stocking. They'll want to check the quality but also sizing so they can envisage where in the shop it will be placed.

@@Unearthedcandleco Oh I see. It's really just a case of creating content which people want to watch, and is either useful to them or entertaining. It takes a long time and consistency is key. We haven't really put much effort into this channel as of yet, but are planning to create lots more content.

It's the time segment that I fall down on. I'm making in small amounts but I'm expected now to make minimum wage for myself. I. Can't see that happening. Also when you add up your costs do you factor in energy, insurance, moulds etc? I've always priced individual as I know exactly to the gram his much is used and I divide costs like insurance up but this will never work for wholesale. I'm totally lost now. Any insight would be fabulous. Thank you.
Hi Debs, Costs such as energy, insurance etc are all 'overheads' and therefore shouldn't be calculated into the price of your products. If you follow the pricing formula in this video then there is plenty of profit to account for the overheads. But, you do need to include your time, as that is a key factor into the profitability of your products. Just work out how many items you can make in an hour, then decide on how much you want to make in an hour, divide the 2 and that's the amount it costs you in time to make the product. Don't worry about what other people are charging too much, because if you are focussing on a niche (which is what we talk about a lot), then pricing isn't too much of an issue (within reason of course).
It would also be nice to see you delve into social media marketing vs email marketing, highlighting the pros and cons to both and how they can work together and then have a follow up video with examples or case studies on each strategy
@@Scxbah Thank you for watching. With social media marketing and email marketing, there isn’t a pros and cons of each. You should be doing both without a doubt. But I do have content lined up which covers these in more detail.
Do you think you could make a video on trademarking? For example I want to trademark the brand name, logo, slogan, and a future product name in 2 classes but I'm unsure whether that should be the standard trademark application or if I'd be better doing a series application

It was always our plan, and we received an offer we couldn’t refuse.

Do you have any tips on what to look out for when choosing a supplier for custom packaging? I am still in product development but would love custom packaging for gift sets, candle boxes etc but I'm always hesitant as the suppliers I've looked at always have mixed reviews
Absolutely: 1. Contact them with a brief of what you're looking for. 2. Assess how quickly they respond. If they're slow to respond to a sales enquiry then that's not looking good for projects. 3. Ask them to send samples of similar packaging and materials. 4. Send them a sample of your product so they can prepare a sample of the actual box (they do this for free). 5. Most will provide the outline, to scale, drawing of the packaging for you to impose design onto for free. 6. Make sure you arrange payment terms with them (50% upfront, 50% before dispatch). I hope that helps.
USA here, getting really close to launching. The market in my area is oversaturated and everyone is obsessed with 3 for $25 candles at major corporate stores. Still trying to figure out what I can do to stand out among the rest. Until then I won't launch.
That’s a common worry. The key is to focus on a niche and not to focus on the same thing as everyone else, therefore it won’t be saturated. Examples of a niche: ‘candles for book lovers’ or ‘destination candles for people who love travelling’ etc. Try not to just launch ‘luxury’ candles which most people do and end up being the same as everyone else.
This is an important fact to remember. You need to learn to read an SDS sheet and create your CLP labels with confidence

Good advice and tips here. My own pet hate on CLP labels is when I see minuscule hazard pictograms! I think one of the issues people have is that they see CLP regulations as a just an annoying hoop to jump through, and don't really use it as an opportunity to consider the safety of their products, and how this can be clearly communicated to customers.
Thank you for watching. Yes, that’s exactly right. Many people aren’t aware that the pictograms need to be 1cm min along each edge, or must be in colour. I agree, people do see this as a chore which they don’t think requires a lot of attention, which of course isn’t how it should be.
