Don't worry. It will not start in AP mode because in code it is directed to start in Station mode.

Check the current rating of the motors you are using. The motor driver used in this video can handle 600mA per channel.

You have to select correct com port. In Arduino IDE go to Tools -> Ports then select the correct port which is assigned to your Arduino UNO board.

Maybe you didn't install the USB driver for the Arduino UNO board.

Yes you can replace the IC's in the motor driver shield

First upload an I2C scanner sketch and check if your sensor responds with its I2C address or not. It will let you know if your sensor is communicating or not.

it says no i2c is found, and wiring is also correct no red light is blink there, what the concept of pull up resistors

No I2C found means that no communication. Use small wire for connections and look for loose connections. If you are still facing issues then try using pull up resistors.

No. 9volts battery cannot provide enough power to drive four motors.

No it's a must that you use Adafruit Motor Shield V1 Library otherwise you will get errors. V2 library is for different motor driver.

Make sure you have all the necessary libraries installed. Have you installed the Adafruit Motor Shield V1 Library?

No, you will be a separate charger.

If you give 12 volts to the "VIN" pin of ESP8266 then it will heat up the voltage regulator in the ESP board. The ESP8266 voltage regulator might heat up and trigger a thermal shutdown after running for a few minutes.

Yes you can use 9 volts power source but make sure it can provide enough current to drive all motors.
