A single phase siren normally takes 56 amps. But a lot more is normally required to start it

Sirens of NE Ohio In Germany you dont need an voltage converter. You get 230v out of the wall.

In America most houses are supplied with 240v power Most electric clothes dryers use 240 too

Federal Sign And Signal made the actual siren part for W/S Darley and W/S Darley just made a different housing and made them red for fire departments. Darley is still in business to this day and they make different firefighting items. W/S Darley made fire sirens back in the 50's 60's 70's, and painted them Red. That's why if you see a Darley siren that was from civil defense days and it was dual toned it was most likely re painted in civil defense yellow to accommodate to the dual tone color coding standard. Darley also rebranded all ACA sirens except for the P-50 and the Cyclone I believe and made them in 8 port single tone versions and sold them in Red for fire departments. Darley sirens came red because red is that standard fire siren color. Also, the color coding to my knowledge was that all low tone and high tone fire sirens were to be painted in Red or Gray and all dual toned civil defense sirens to be painted in Yellow. No matter what tone darley sirens were always standard painted in red and for civil defense purposes the county or municipality would have to get it custom ordered or just repaint it.
