Off topic, but what is your rear axle load ? Would have to be right up there or over !
@GavinHughes-uq9df couldn't tell you to be honest, we got weighed right back at the start of our travels, and we're over by a little, but since then we dumped a fair bit of weight..... we were pretty much on the limit 👌
Tons of thanks for making such an informative video. In fact, I'm struggling with this issue now a days.

Denso 1493 or 1209?
@@kortlandlfskdjflaskjdf7979 couldn't tell you sorry 🤷♂️
@ found the answer.. one is 150amp and one is 180amp.. the bigger one for cold Weather
@kortlandlfskdjflaskjdf7979 nice, just go the bigger one for if u have a dual battery setup too 💪💪
Twice the price though
@kortlandlfskdjflaskjdf7979 ouch.. ok maybe not 😲
Is it the same on 2017 prado 150? Having similar issue, diff lock is just flashing, button doesnt seem to be doing a whole lot, and the l4 is not showing up as being engaged on the dash. So im not sure whether the diff lock is locked or trying to lock? If that makes sense. Great video thanks
@thevideo7470 not 100% sure but I know the hilux runs the same/similar system so I figure the prado platform would be very similar..... if you are handy and confident you can always just pull the covers off and have a look... otherwise toyota would be your best bet 😉
Very good tutorial mate, well done 👍
@@PropheciesofGod cheers for that 🍻
Double jabbed all . . well thanks for your service & remember the masks save grandmother
Thanks for the information. Did you consider the OCAM towing mirrors? I think it is still a bit smaller than Clearview with the split mirrors. Cheers
@paulfaithow7199 that is definitely an option... I just liked the look of the MSA so went with them, ha ha 👌
Hey mate really enjoyed this video, been looking for something like this. I’m a little curious I thought the bushwrapz were self healing? Why are the bush stripes showing? Cheers 🍻
@logoss6762 cheers mate, they are self healing if u pour hot water on them or let them sit in the sun for a while (heat brings them back to life) some of the scratches that made it through were fairly severe so I don't think anything could protect it 😉 😀 obviously the black trims up the door are subject to scratching but I figure they are easier to fix than a paint job 🙄🙄
Do the MSA come with the downward facing cameras for the top down all round sky view when reversing? Also do they have the orange light in them for “blind spot monitoring? The VX Prado 150’s standard have these features & I think the latest clear view towing mirrors for the VX Prado 150’s do come with them as well as the external indicator light as well.
@ianmoone2359 the ones I fitted are very basic, none of those features... but our 200 didn't have any of that stuff before hand either.... all we lost was the reverse tilt down and the powered fold away..... best bet would be to contact MSA directly and see what mirror suits your needs 👌👌
And in terms of time, is there a limit assuming you are not driving the car frequently?
@rahalati if u mean time between changes I would do 40-75k if you are towing a lot and maybe 80k for normal driving...
@@DucruznOZ No, I mean how many months/years between changes if you do not drive the car frequently
@@rahalati oh, well usually 20k/yr so maybe 4-5 years 🤷♂️
@@DucruznOZ Thanks, My 2017 LC200 has been driven only 40000 km and has not had any transmission fluid change, Do I still need to change it now
@rahalati maybe just get it hot and check the condition/level of the oil and if it doesn't smell burnt or discoloured would probably be OK 👌
Looks good but how can one repair the plastic trim around the side windows? Also bulbar take a hiding I imagine?
@V8LC100 bulbar did cop a hiding but that cleaned up easier, black trims not so much... but u can get plastic trim restorer to sort that out. Wa mainly for scratches that would go to bare metal and look shocking 😲

Great video, I've done a similar upgrade in our 2015 caravan, I was hoping you were going remove the panel you mppt was installed to see how it's done, I have to do this in mine but can't see an easy way to access the area without. Putting holes in it. Did you have any ideas from when you were initially going to do it in yours?
@@JeremyGoodeve cheers mate, there were screws holding the panel in on both sides through the cupboard next to it and behind our concertina door... it was very messy behind there thats for sure 🤢🤢 the main reason we changed it out was our AGM batteries were cooked, over used and not designed for our load requirements..... but we got a good 12 months out of them 🤪🤪
Apparently the gxl doesn't have the software to support the fuel side of things. Shame they don't tell you that. No big deal really just another thing to fret over 😂😂. Love your videos mate anyway, no airs and graces, just how we like it. Cheers

Yes mate the ultragauge. I bought it mainly for monitoring transmission temps, which it does well and an awful lot more. But thought I'd try the fuel side of things but it's a struggle to set up so far. I don't have the fuel usage readout on my 2013 gxl
@@paulmonger9337 oh bugger, surely there would be a few videos or forums about setting them up??
Bought one of these, mainly for transmission temps, which work well. But trying to set up the instantaneous litres per 100 klm is a bloody nightmare. Any tips would be great. I've done all the calibration shit several times as per the manual and the agents instructions

Hi Marc, very useful explanation thank you. I plan to do the exact swap over as you’ve just done, the only thing different is that I need to add an inverter as my system doesn’t have one. How difficult is it to add an inverter to my system? How many new cables will need to be ran? Cheers
@@MichaelHargrave-h1r cheers for that mate 🍻 it really depends on where your batteries are compared to your inverter (shortest distance is usually the best or a really large gauge cabling is required) and also depends on how you want it wired up. Ours is hooked up to a 3 way switch that allows all of the power points in the van to be "live/active" when the inverter is switched on.... alternatively you can just have the one PowerPoint that comes off the inverter and have to run extension leads/power boards etc.... because we had it fitted during the build it was much easier to run the cables for the 3 way switch. A 240v sparky will be the person to talk to in regards to that though.... good luck with the install and hope that helps 🍻🍻
doing a proper PPF wrap with something like XPEL is way better

Great video! Likewise I always tow in S4 and monitor transmission temp with a ScanGauge. I keep revs at between 2300 and 2600 regardless of road speed using the gearbox as a clutchless manual. I tow a 3tonne van. Recently I was driving outback in western NSW. Road was rubbish and speed was on average about 55km/h and I was towing mostly in S3. The interesting thing was that my fuel economy was the best I have ever achieved whilst towing, 20.7 l/100km. Could not believe it. Usually I am getting 22 to 24l/100km.
It is amazing when u get awesome fuel economy, driving around 80,000kms gave me lots of time to test different theories.... keep up the great work 🍻🍻

Hey, Hope your doing great, I change the actuators for new ones, but diff lock still flashing and it doesn’t work, any correcto form to put the gears on?
If it still isn't engaging properly it may be more than the actuators that are the problem. It could also be that the contacts in the actuators are in the correct position....

After watching your video I nailed it, knowing what position the push rods need to be in (disengaged) and the alignment of the contacts the main body the critical bit. Hint for anyone trying it, look for the pit mark to find it, note: they are both different, CDL is about 11oclock and HILO is about 10oclock just look for the marks on the contacts
Thats awesome, great stuff mate 🍻🍻

Hey guys Just bought 21,6 double bunk second hand. How do you clean the flyscreen and are they miggy proof ? Second are you still travelling? Cheers Marcus
Congrats on the purchase, we found ours to be semi midgee proof... the roof vent mesh isn't so we kept them closed and we put midgee mesh screen on the security door as it had the channel to run the mesh rope (like a fly screen at home)... other people have sprayed the mesh with mozzie spray from the inside out, but we never tried that as we figured it would attract the dust.... yellow/orange tape on the outside lights will help keep the bugs down too.... unfortunately we just sold our van, we have settled back into normal life now :(
Hey mate we have the same van , did you install an inverter?
Hey mate, it was installed during the build, enerdrive 2000w inverter with ac switch.... made so all the gpo's are active when the inverter is on 👌👌
do you have original right hand side mirror of LC 300 SAHARA ? black . please advise me
Not for a 300, but we got rid of the original mirrors when we fitted the Clearviews, sorry :(
Hi Mark, do you run the dcdv charger and 3 way fridge from the same (one only) anderson plug on your tow vehicle. If yes what size wiring are you using and does the fridge get enough power. Thanks and great vidoe. Danny
Hey mate, fridge is a 12v compressor fridge so it just runs off the house batteries all the time... the 12v from the tow vehicle goes to the dc dc charger then into the house batteries, dexter sway control and all other 12v devices 👌👌 as for wire size, bigger is better 💪💪 all depends on how long and what amps ur running 🍻🍻
