    "They just deem us as lazy, spoiled and too picky, and maybe there is truth to it". I'm a boomer with a Gen Alpha son. Raising him I realised that, sure.. there is truth in what you raise here for him, but who is responsible for this? Is it him? Did he educate himself emotionally, psychologically, spiritually? No, I did that. Realising this I cried my eyes out.. the next time I looked at him I saw him more clearly. I saw him as innocent, and I was softer and more loving with him than ever before. I'm gonna keep reflecting on these things, feeling through this stuff. Maybe I can do better. He, like everyone that is now or was ever a kid, is well worth the effort.

      Well you’re one of the rare ones and I commend you for taking a moment to put yourself in our shoes to understand what things are like from our POV, I think seeing these things and changing your approach is honestly enough and I hope you and your son are coming closer and he can see that change.

    On one hand hitting 1,000 subs from putting lyrics to a video game song should have felt good, but knowing that was a one time thing and the speedpaints/animations I want to do get no attention is pretty disheartening. I've been experimenting on YT for a really long time, but animation has become something I'm passionate about. I know that if I got too much attention to quickly it would be overwhelming, even though I've been animating for a couple years now. "It's not about the numbers, just do things for yourself" is easier said then done, but if I can focus on making art I'm proud of, I can get validation from myself and not from numbers. Being able to look at a past project that still holds up is a lot more rewarding then something I didn't care about getting a bigger number on it.

    and now, allow me to do that very thing! i run two blog-journal things. i call them that because really they're just excuses for me to ramble about whatever. one is a daily comment series on yt where i leave a paragraph of text under a guy's daily video series. i try to never go below 1000 characters, which gets really hard whenever nothing of interest happens! the other one is off in an anarchy text site. essentially you can claim worlds there, so i claimed my own and i'm running a thingo there. it's currently private due to griefer attacks on worlds adjacent to mine. there, i talk for much longer, but much more rarely. i've been doing that one for 7 months now (entries have thinned out for a bit due to circumstances outside of my control but i'm reeling it back in). i get absolutely no readers on either one of those projects. maybe one or two on the former, but zero on the latter. i just do these things out of a joy for sharing things. i love sharing stuff that's within my area of interest. it's also a way to stick it to cringe culture by being unapologetically true to myself - i am cringe, hiding that would harm me, so i wear it on the sleeve. if i wanted to get big, i wouldn't be able to be myself. i'd have to sanitize what i write or say to make sure i don't look like a dork. i'd have to do several revisions of what i say or heavily editorialize it to make it 100% coherent and fluid. knowing other people have set standards for my work would be a limiting factor to my expression. that's what i do - i put my feelings into words and set them free. i don't care if i get very few people to read them, i just want to make sure that the people who do, get something out of it. weed out anybody else. writing things to myself isn't enough for me though. as i just said, i want people to get something out of it. i want my work to be publicly accessible so that others can see it. if i were writing in, say, a notepad document, i'd know that i'm the only person who'll ever see it. and that would also change the way i write. because why would i want to tell somebody something they already know? seems like a waste of time. that's why i want my stuff to be out there. it forces me to talk differently, and teaching stuff to somebody who is eager to learn -that'd be people who get something out of my work- is something i find to be infinitely valuable. i'd boil it down to this - i'd rather have fam than fans. i'd rather have 10 people who like what i do -whatever that may be-, and are willing to have a discussion with me over it, than have 10000 people have a look, nod, and scroll away. and right now, it seems like it's just me. let's have a positive outlook on things - that's 100% fam!

    Great video. Great voice too. I was gonna say, "Hey, you should become a professional voice narrator, and make a living doing projects for people", but then I remembered that there are endless AI voices people can download instead of hiring people. This world sucks... Nobody can do anything right now that interests them, because it's ten-to-one a waste of time. It feels like everything we do, or strive towards, is a waste of time.

    not gonna lie, i see it as a shame that ol' donnie trump got elected, but i thought about it for a while - younger men don't really have role models. they face these struggles they are unprepared for, between increasingly complex technology and outdated social institutions. there's nobody to look towards, nobody who can really grasp the situation we're all in. all we have is tate, musk, trump... we suffer from a terrible lack of proper education. don't blame teachers. don't blame schools (well, sometimes.) look to society at large, see if we actually value education, if we actually value truth, and not the "truth" that the "free speech" warriors love to flaunt.

      very well said!! I dont live in the US but i think trump was a good choice because out of many presidents around the globe, he wears hes shadow side and we see a genuine dude who isnt giving scripted answers where theres alot of code in whats said, i think trumps second coming is the beginning of something good, watching him on the joe rogan podcast made me fully convinced

    Love the video. I always make videos when no one is watching. I don’t care if it’s an hour or more. I don’t care about being consistent or not. I have a life too. I barely do live videos & shorts. I only get more views on shorts when bad stuff happens or I go explore. I look back at my old stuff, weird af but I did it. Some videos I deleted cuz I don’t like it, some too personal as it blows up for a few hate comments, some other videos deleted off my channel but downloaded & reuploaded to other channels to clean up. I have 3 channels that I use. 1 is Art documentation (boring AF). 2 is Art Vlog, video editing effects & expression with some art updates. 3 is my archives for reuploads & old dumb funny shit. My passionate hobby is Art that is like a voice & a song to fully express myself (since I was 4). I learned to edit videos since my best friend in high school do it. He loves movies & we go every Friday. Current friendship for 12 years. Been doing my content weird thing since 2013.

    I really think this too Honestly I started leaning more into getting an audience yes but a small one, thing is I might and we all just are going to improve and might make a video that hits and has a lot of views And you’ll get pressured to kinda make something like it That’s why I feel like I wanna make a simple channel, but still with some effort to at least attract some people! I prefer small and simple communities or videos Also about videos being done before, you can do it too just in your own way Literally there are NO original ideas its all inspiration from other people, I really like how you put it here People don’t mind the same topic If It is with a unique way of telling/talking about it

    • @Theunspeakableworld42
      @Theunspeakableworld42 6 днів тому

      exactly man, I dont even think there is a secret method to youtube, its just making good content and improving slightly each time and learning from mistakes, knowing who your audience is, making content you enjoy, everybody on youtube gets the lucky train that passes their channel, just few are prepared for it or make content that would make the people on the train stop and want to explore

  • @elijahcropsey2621

    Made a lot of good points here: What do we do about inflation? Do we have a life purpose anymore? I have to say as a fellow gen z I’ve been told both “stop acting like a child, so you can get a job,” and “get a job, so you can stop acting like a child.” Honestly frustrating at times. This is real talk. I don’t know many channels that do this, and I appreciate it. It’s my belief that life does have purpose, and it comes directly from God and what He tells us in the Bible, which is His inspired Word. My favorite book of the Bible is Ecclesiastes, because it answers this question about purpose and meaning. It starts off with “empty, empty, everything is empty!” and just lays out everything in life that seems to have purpose but ultimately doesn’t (pleasure, work, knowledge, etc.). The conclusion the “Preacher” (that is, King Solomon) comes to is this: Nothing apart from God satisfies. That’s it: God. He is the answer to all our problems, He is the only one who can give us hope and joy. I just wish more people knew about God. I wish more people would read the Bible for themselves and get to know what God is actually like. Every book of the Bible points to how God is both merciful and just. The book of Romans is a good starting point.

    Eh, for what its worth, young women are well known to ignore whats good for them in exchange for whats fun and exciting. Its why so many romance novels pit the sweet and reliable provider vs the wild bad boy. I find that when people hit their mid 20's is when they start to learn the kinds of people thet actually like instead of getting swept up in the excitement of it all. Hell, same thing happens to guys. I know I spent a long time ignoring the girl that was right for me because there was someone more exciting and fun. I still regret that.

    I wish I saw this video a month ago I recently snapped at the fact that most of my videos were not getting much views, and I pretty much went on a purge of my content, sparing only a few videos All the effort I put into my content over the past four years gone because I was not thinking straight, I did not appreciate the fact that I enjoyed making the videos and being able to look back on them every now and then, instead I only expected views from them I plan on creating new content again, but now I want to aim towards making content solely for the enjoyment of it, and if a video performs unexpectedly well, then that is a bonus Thank you for listening to my Ted talk I guess

    I got recommended to this. and it's true. but it's very soul crushing where you have little amount of views and seeing others with a lot amount of views just by having little effort in their videos. not trying to be viewer hungry or anything but sometimes you'll want your videos to be NOTICED. but when you finally hit 1M views or more if it's that legit then you'll be really wondering how to plan your next hit because the audience wants to see more which to me that can be draining sometimes.

    • @Theunspeakableworld42
      @Theunspeakableworld42 9 днів тому

      I feel you dude, I went through the same, one thing I’d recommend is just post anyway and go through that phase of maybe loosing viewers or subscribers just to give yourself a stronger understanding of what works and doesn’t through your content, I mean there’s no method to grow a UA-cam channel, many videos can sell you the idea that there’s a special trick but it’s really just going through the trial and error, being consistent and slightly improving each time interms of the way you edit or even how much better your personality shows through the videos etc

  • @d1ffch
    @d1ffch 16 днів тому

    The best argument about uploading videos is "kinda" unlimited storage. Just upload things you did and you like, time comes and people that like the same stuff will come and see it not. It does not guarantee a big youtube success but it guarantees that you find people with the same hobby, views and all that. Then, if you feel like it, you can upgrade your content and it just becomes a circle
