Thanksgiving Weekend 2024
Thanksgiving weekend, install chipper blades then plans get derailed by faulty carburetor and dead battery.
Adapted to the situation and worked on a rock retaining wall.
Plans can change when you are deep in the woods miles from civilization.

That’s actually the size of camper that I’m looking for. It would tow PERFECTLY behind my 99Taco and I’ve got it (currently) running around on 35” tires (35X12.50X15) but with that much sidewall I’ve got good ride quality AND I can “air down” to a pliable but safe trail pressure of 13PSI. I purchased it new off the dealer lot and it’s got over 300K on it, but if I didn’t love it then I’d not still have it. 4X4 3.4L V-5 with 5spd manual transmission and T-case WITH manual locking hubs AND a TRD electric locking rear diff. A solid axle swap is currently in the works with D60 5.89 and Detroit with a matching D44 up front. D44 was “donated” by a 1st gen Bronco and I’ve got everything from the knuckle out for a matching 8bolt wheel pattern. I’ve just got to narrow the 60 to match. Did I mention that my 30yr career was an aftermarket auto parts like NAPA and such. I also did my HS term paper on the reasons why a 4X4 was a superior vehicle to choose and why. My teacher had NEVER encountered anything like it previously and had NO CHOICE but to give me an A+! What a feeling, especially considering that I had ALL of the requirements met, she just couldn’t refute anything about it. Bryant High in 1989-90. 😂

@@ToddAdams1234 sounds like a beast you are building, I’m still running 30s with a 2” lift on the rear so when pulling loaded she’s not a squatted taco. Thanks for watching sir.

Mistakes? Let me count the ways: 1. Read the tree wrong 2. Not enough equipment employed 3. Allowed the tree to capture your saw 4. Sitting on your knees hacking at the face cut 5. Didn't escape far enough from falling tree. 6. Face cut too deep. It's best to have a backup plan for anything that could go wrong and take precautionary measures to minimize the danger. Otherwise, I enjoyed the video.

Add a pop up canopy either 5x5 or larger. popup canopy in between springbar and kitchen. I have a ford ranger with a cap, 10x10 pop up canopy and 8x10 springbar tent, with a couple tarps and canvas drop cloths I can create flexible weather proof set ups in minutes.

Whoop! Hope the camera survived. I was doing that with a 12 ft oak recently and had to curl it under and keep my toe on the thumb pedal to hold onto it. Didn't want to drop it on the mill and screw up my freshly leveled bunks!

I just had the same issue out in the woods. However, my tree was already leaning & close to falling. I was in panick mode. Fortunately, I was able to take the cover off & yanked the bar & saw off the chain. I had a new spare chain & finished it off & got my old chain back. The lessons we learn!
