If any issues arise during your adjustments, the service technicians would have the resources to make those corrections and repairs. They are the most appropriate source for service if you are experiencing difficulties. Could you please elaborate on the issues you have encountered when contacting SafeStep? Is SafeStep unwilling to come out to your home and provide service?

Reasons vary, younger folks tend to have them as a hot tub in your bathroom, the jetting is not replicated on anything outside of a spa or outdoor hot tub. Seniors and folks with mobility concerns get them as they are easy and safe to enter and exit, you can sit while bathing and the therapy from the jets provides them with joint pain relief and overall benefits circulation. Both are super popular. The cool thing about showers is that you pick everything. The nice thing about tubs is all the therapy and relaxation from the jets. Both are great choices. Thanks for the comment!!

If you use your thumb and index fingernails on the edge of the check valve, (the check valve is the white plastic portion inside of the chrome housing, bottom "sill" of the door opening) it will pull right out. then to test it, you can shake it, if you are here a rattle it is still working and just needs a mild cleaning w soap and water. if it is not clicking, you will need to soak it for 30 minutes in a detergent like CLR, then clean with soap and water... repeat until it clicks when you shake it.

Even better, call safe step, the tub has a lifetime warranty, they will fix it for you, without any additional charges. you already bought the warranty with the tub, if you bought it new from safe step.

I was not the original purchaser of the tub. We have since discovered that the check valve is working and it seems to be leaking around the door seal. We have conditioned the rubber seal several times. I don’t know how or where I would go to purchase a new seal or if that is possible?

it is likely not the seal that needs to be replaced and I am guessing safe step has declined to help you? if you have to do this on your own, I'll work on making a video on how to adjust the door opening/skew. it is one main bolt that you need to tighten. typically what happens is the safe step tub door warps and causes the seal to not make contact in a spot, thus a leak. there is a bolt that can be tightened to aid in adjusting this out of the door. in the past I have also seen doors replaced as a last resort. all of these are are higher level project though, the door adjustment will require a crescent wrench 🔧 and some muscle power.

Any help that you can offer would be very much appreciated. I was so excited when we got this tub, we are both seniors on a fixed income and there was no possible way we could have been able to purchase the tub new. I knew we were taking a chance purchasing a used tub but it had been used very little and this is the only issue we had but it is a big one in that we can’t really use it if it is leaking. I know TubToday has a laydown model. Typically, the price difference w jets and no jets is around 10-20%. Some tubs may only be available w jets so I would be open to having them so you can otherwise get the perfect bathtub. Mobility isn’t an issue, but i wants lots of jets in the right spots and i dont need lights and aroma, i want a luxury tub and i think i want the door to swing in, the thought of water in the bathroom because of the door swinging out-freaks me out. A nice slant to the back of the tub for lounging would be nice..any suggestions..

I would go with the Ultra model. it's has a deeper seat, from knee to waist, for a more comfortable sit-down soak, the inward door swing is shaped to make it wrap around the profile of your legs while seated. The 30" width is a perfect match for most bathrooms and bathtub replacements, also making it the most popular size. if you need more economy, the standard model is great but less customizable, and the luxury aesthetic of the ultra is lost. most will come w led lights without adding cost, the jetting though is very configurable. you can call tubtoday in illinois for even more conversational assistance at 630-877-4294 they are my go-to source, walk-in tub usa is all online, and it is very scrutanizing about what tubs they carry. both are great resources for you!

in this tub for sure you will, there are some good tubs out there. I've installed a couple with two drains that are incredibly fast.

The Safe Step tub drain works, but the real differences lie in the overall cost, build quality, door and tub construction, and jetting system. If you're considering a walk-in tub, it's important to weigh the pros and cons. My 2024 Top Walk-In Tubs video covers these details. Compared to competitors, the Safe Step tub might not be as impressive as advertised. It seems like a lot of money is spent on marketing rather than improving the product itself. Don't just rely on what salespeople tell you - do your research and compare options.

Thank you for your input. While I strive for objectivity, it's understandable that certain manufacturers may oversell their products. If acrylic showers were priced competitively, they could be a viable option. Based on my research, well-known brands often have higher price points and lower quality materials.
