One of the greatest gifts my mom gave me was allowing me to freely prepare meals and navigate around her busy kitchen...the result was KITCHEN CONFIDENCE.
In the words of Annie Danielson, “Home is where the story begins”.
As a mom myself now, I want to provide my own kids all the tools they need to go into the world and live as strong, caring and able citizens. My aim is to encourage their creativity, confidence and independence.
I initially started posting videos on my channel so I wouldn't need to hover over my kids and instruct them while baking - they would simply set up a tablet on the kitchen counter and follow the instructions on the screen! The results have been just incredible!!
I have put together some recipe videos exclusively for young bakers under my EASY BAKES FOR KIDS playlist. I hope that my channel will enable and inspire some wonderful cooking and KITCHEN CONFIDENCE in your home❤️

Old School Fish Pie Recipe | Salmon & Cod with Mashed Potato Topping | #britishrecipes #comfortfood
A comforting and nutritious fish pie to serve with your favorite roasted veggies or as a meal in itself.
INGREDIENTS
Topping:
2¼ lb / 1kg potatoes
1 ½ oz / 40g butter
3 tbsp / 1 ⅓ fl oz / 45ml milk
¾ cup / 75g grated cheese
Sauce:
4 oz / 120g butter
2 tbsp / 15g flour
2 ½ cups / 20 fl oz / 600ml milk
¼ cup / 25g grated cheese
Handful of chopped parsley
Filling:
3½ oz / 100g smoked salmon
1lb 1oz / 500g cod pieces
½ cup / 150g frozen mixed vegetables
DIRECTIONS
1. Heat water in a medium sized pan. Peel potatoes and cut into large chunks. Add potatoes into the hot water pan, leave on boil until potatoes are softened.
2. Drain the water. Add butter to the hot potatoes. Mash the potatoes with a masher or a large fork. Season with salt and pepper. Add milk and continue to mash until the consistency is smoother. Set mash to one side.
3. In a separate saucepan, melt butter on low heat. Add flour and continue to whisk. Gradually add in the milk, continue to whisk. Season with salt and black pepper. As sauce is thickening and nearly ready, stir in the chopped parsley and a quarter of the grated cheddar cheese. Remove pan from the heat
4. Add fish pieces to the cooked sauce. Cover pan with lid and leave for 5 minutes.
5. Preheat oven to 390 F (200 C)
6. Transfer fish and sauce mixture into an oven dish. Stir in vegetables. Add mashed potato topping. Spread evenly over the filling. Sprinkle with grated cheese.
The fish pie is now ready for the oven. (At this point you can freeze the pie if you plan to bake it in the future, see below for instructions.)
7. Bake for approx 30-40 minutes or until the top is golden and slightly crispy
NOTES & TIPS:
TIP FOR MAKING SAUCE: Melt butter on low heat then keep heat on low/medium.
Stir consistently to avoid a lumpy sauce.
TO FREEZE: Cover pie dish with aluminum foil and place in freezer. Adjust the baking time to approx 50-60 minutes if cooking from frozen.

It does sound like you may have purchased a kind of 'naked' muesli. It might benefit from a little sweetener and some chopped fruit. Personally, I like to add hot milk to my Alpen muesli (homemade or store bought), and that softens the oats nicely.

thank you for putting weighted measurements in the description bar because I don't use cup measurements
A British dish egg the hell do u use American weights ??? they are not as reliable as a proper scales , shan’t bother making this u have used american wrights 😡
If you look in the written recipe in the description, you will see that all the measurements show both metric as well as US cup measurements.
I make exactly this recipe with the evaporated milk and it is delicious. However, I make it in the microwave which I find cleaner and easier. I mix all the ingredients in a large bowl with a lid. Microwave high until it boils then turn down to a very low power level, about number 2. With the lid on, cook for a further 90 minutes. It has no skin, no waste, quite easy to clean up and equally delicious. Good video.

I made this today. Such an easy recipe and so delicious. I really liked the distinctive orange rind flavour. I drizzled a bit of icing over the top aswell and had to stop myself eating my third slice in a row 😅. Thanks for the lovely recipe Susu!!

You can substitute with chopped dates or leave out altogether. The recipe still works😀

Can I use Jaggery as sweetener instead of maple syrup and apple sauce?
Jaggery may not be a good substitute sweetener for this particular recipe. The reason is that jaggery will not provide moisture to the recipe like maple syrup and apple sauce.
