Lane Splitting and Lane Filtering in the USA
Переглядів 1,2 тис.3 роки тому
I wanted to take some time to address comments from people wondering about/ignorant about lane splitting. I know it can be a controversial topic, but it really is a time, cost, and safety-efficient(?) method of transportation.
Moto Guzzi V7iii Long Term Motorcycle Ownership Review
Переглядів 55 тис.3 роки тому
Hey guys, today with the help of @Jonahaimz (go check out his work) I filmed a review of his Moto Guzzi V7. He has the V7iii version, put more than 20,000 miles on it since he bought it new, and made a few modifications which I mention in the video. I've had the chance to ride it before and always enjoy it, I've also ridden a v7ii, and finally shot a little review of the bike. I ramble a bit, s...
A Totally Uneventful Drive Through Hollywood, Los Angeles
Переглядів 4953 роки тому
The weather was great and I needed to get out of the house for a change of scenery, so I went for a short little ride through the neighborhood. I've seen some similar videos of people just driving through their hood and enjoyed watching those just to see new places. I hope you enjoy this whether you're from LA or just curious what Hollywood looks like.
Long Term CB1100EX Owner's Review (Take 2)
Переглядів 68 тис.3 роки тому
Hey guys, sorry if this looks familiar- The audio problems I was having with my last one due to a faulty recorder were driving me nuts and the weather was nice, so I just jumped out and re-recorded the first portion of my review. In this video I review my Honda CB1100 EX Motorcycle after putting almost 25,000 miles on it. I try to talk about the bike a bit, talk about what it's like to own/main...
[Update: There is a new version of this review] 2017 Honda CB1100 EX Long Term Ownership Review
Переглядів 20 тис.3 роки тому
The new video can be found here: ua-cam.com/video/IDgSLjOnQMQ/v-deo.html I'm leaving this up but due to the faulty sound recorder I was dealing with that makes me sound like a robot, so I just re-recorded the initial portion of this review. Everything else remains the same.
CB1100EX with Pipemasters 4 Into 4 Exhaust Sounds
Переглядів 15 тис.4 роки тому
Hey guys, In this video, my very talented buddy Jonah (@jonahaimz, go subscribe!) helped me record the sounds of my Pipemasters 4 into 4 exhaust for people who had been wondering what they sound like. They're pricey (which is why I'm really glad the previous owner of my bike bought them), but they sound really great and I hope it comes through in the video. The first round of audio comes from a...
2014 Honda CB1100 vs 2017 CB1100EX
Переглядів 46 тис.5 років тому
In this video I discuss my new 2017 CB1100EX and compare it to my 2014, which I owned for over 36,000 miles. I'll compare and contrast and do a brief overview so whether you own one or are interested, I hope there's something in the video for you.
25,000 mile Honda CB1100 Long Term Review Update
Переглядів 32 тис.6 років тому
It's been 25,000 miles since I bought this bike and I wanted to make an update to my last video where I sort of reviewed the bike. In this video I talk about what modifications and accessories I've added as well as discuss how I've maintained it. At the end I sort of break down the costs associated with owning it and how much I pay for the maintenance. I've done most of that myself so it's just...
How to: Change the Oil on a Motorcycle
Переглядів 1,3 тис.7 років тому
I'm using my Honda CB1100 as an example in this video where I do an oil change. I had to do one and wanted to record it in case there are others out there who maybe haven't changed the oil on their bike before who might want to see how I do it. I'm replacing my oil with Rotella T6 which is a synthetic motor oil that meets the standards required by my bike. Of course, Honda only wants me to use ...
How to: Clean and Lubricate a Motorcycle Chain
Переглядів 8697 років тому
In this video I briefly show how I clean the chain on my Honda CB1100. I was in the middle of an oil change and as is tradition, while the oil drains I clean my chain. I use WD-40 to clean the chain and Motul lubricating oil to lube it. WD-40 is not a lubricant! It's a solvent, kerosene based I'm pretty sure. You need to wipe it off and lube the chain after using. There are numerous places you ...
Honda CB1100 Long Term Owner's Review
Переглядів 110 тис.7 років тому
I have over 11,000 miles on my CB1100 so I thought it would be appropriate to talk about it a little bit. Happy to answer any questions in the comments! Update: 8 months later. Odometer: 22,000, no problems yet! I did notice some oil seepage near one corner of the valve cover gasket but I need to check those valves soon anyway which will require a new gasket. Also, I needed to clean the front s...

    I have a 2013 CB1100 and coming from my younger crotch rocket years I can say this is a joy to ride and perfect for my age now. I have owned many many bikes since 12 yrs old, first real proper motorcycle was a 1974 750H2 and went to other crotch rockets over my life. I owned a Honda Nighthawk 550 in the early 90's for a while and it was so nice and smooth that from there I didn't really go back to the crotch rocket/sportbike config. Got the middle age bug and wanted a bike really bad this year and found a low mileage CB1100 and am glad I did, it's a tame beast that will get you down the road if you need to and will pull you along at low revs through town.

    Excellent review. I love the look at this bike and love the quality Honda motorcycles. It’s a bit big for me perhaps too big. I’m a very experienced rider however, I’m a small guy 5’6 155lbs. Curious if there are some inexpensive modifications to accommodate lowering it just a bit. Thanks

    I dislike that they have de-tuned these motors so much over the years on the CB1100 series Bikes..The 82 to 84 model CB1100F made 109BHP. They were 20 pounds lighter and had a 5.3 gal fuel tank.. The CB1100s past 2000 are down about 20 HP and they weight more with a smaller tank..No matter what I love the platform!!!

    @kingbeat101 Місяць тому

    Had a 1983 CB1100F that made quite a bit more power weighted 20 pounds less and had a bigger gas tank 5.3..I don't think I would be happy with this de-tuned version..However I'm glad they kept it going..

    Posso chiederti durante il periodo estivo se e quanto scalda tra le gambe? Ho avuto la CB1300 del 2004 e utilizzarla nell'uso quotidiano o in coda ai caselli, per il calore che sprigionava, diventava un inferno....per il resto moto straordinaria. Buona strada e grazie se vorrai rispondermi

  • @dougw7648
    @dougw7648 5 місяців тому

    I have the same bike. I have 3 complaints. (1) Front Brakes Squeal coming to a stop enough to scare small children (2) Vibration at 4300 rpm and (3) Rear tail light rattles. On the forums there is no fix to any of these issues. You don't mention any of this. Do you have the unicorn without these quirks?

    • @davidrome
      @davidrome 5 місяців тому

      My brakes did have a small squeal at very low speeds and light pressure, but it was MOSTLY resolved with application of a little copper anti-squeal compound to the back of the pads. It was not a big deal, and my new 2022 Speed Twin's brakes are even worse. No particular vibration or tail light issues, I think yours may be the unicorn given I've never heard anyone complain about them. They should be easily resolved, the tail light assembly isn't complicated, I'd screw down whatever was loose, maybe find what's vibrating and ensure the gasket is properly placed (or place one).

    I have a 2023 V7 Stone and it's been bulletproof so far. The build quality is what draws a lot of people to Moto Guzzi. Whereas Royal Enfield, Triumph, Ducati, etc. have outsourced the production of certain models of theirs to other countries, Guzzis remain 100% Italian-made.

Man I just wish Honda had put that silver tank stripe on the 2017- I'm so drawn to the 2014 red tank over the 2017. 2014 in black is so sharp as well. Still undecided but this video was very helpful. Thanks for this video. I recently traded my 2014 CB1100 for a 22 Triumph Speed Twin 1200. While I love the Triumph, I miss the CB. I did a lot of modifications to my 14 CB, and I heard you say if you plan on that, go with the 14. After riding it more, would you still say that? Cause I prefer the tank and seat of the 17. And the LCD screen looks clear, clean, and beautiful imo. Not sure if it’s better than the 14’s, but I love it. Let me know what you think. There are many more 14’s available on the aftermarket than 17’s. But I’d pay the extra money for a better bike. Do I wish it was 15lbs less? Yes. But oh well. Thanks!

      I'm in the same position! I have the 22 Speed twin as well, just posted my 1yr owner's review. I still think if you're going to mod, go for the older bike. If you're keeping the tank, seat, and lights... I wouldn't consider the modifications significant, and then you should get whatever tickles your fancy. I miss my CB!

    I have a 2014 model with a power commander, Delkevic exhaust, and Oxford heated grips. Picked it up used with 8k miles for $6,200. I really like the Kawasaki Z900 RS but it is significantly more expensive and they don’t come up very often on the used market in California for any reasonable price.

    Thank you for this review. Well done. I miss my 85’ CB650 SC 😔. It was my first MC, and I can’t say in words just how wonderful an experience it was! I don’t & have been able to swap bikes whenever I felt like it, so I have lusted from a distance Honda’s in-line 4s that have come out over the years. This particular bike seems perfect for in town driving sans no wind protect. (I commuted on my old CB, and had to install a small but effective windscreen…). I love the naked look, and how much easier routine maintenance is with naked bikes. Thanks again, wonderful looking MC, and looks so enjoyable to go for a ride then my current ancient 2002 Kawasaki Concours (22k only still)… .
