Thanks for doing this video. It's so important to know what is really going on with ham software. I have found that most of it sucks. The only one I think is worth a few bucks a month is Cloudlog out of Germany. LOTW is crap, written in the 90s, too many certs....WAY too much to deal with. I use it but only because I want to update my DXCC occasionally. But ARRL is way too expensive to keep DXCC going anyway. To me, being a league member is a hostage situation so you can update DXCC. There has to be a better way. I also this year dropped the "big three" radio nightmare and went with Elad FDM-DUO (FT8) from Italy and RGO One (CW/SSB) from Bulgaria. Much better way to go. I did not renew my ARRL membership since 2012. now day I can get information on internet , magazine may be out dated. if I don't need QST QEX magazine, I really don't have much need to join ARRL. since they went to online QST , QEX, prefer if they dropped to more reasonable price like US$20 / year AG6JU

I got into hexx beams with the BuddiHEX for starters. I was so impressed, I'm going permanent now with the DXE XB-5 on a 40' Rohn 25g. I might have missed the topic in the video, but painting the fiberglass is important. Make sure you use a non conductive paint. My research showed Krylon fusion to be best. Cold climates, use black for ice, Texas probably white for heat. Thanks for the deep dive on this!

Sure is easy to criticize- what have you done but complain publicly? If you didn’t do the work to get your club affiliated, you didn’t become a NTS member, and you aren’t an active participant - why do you care? I’ll bet you go to the local club meeting and sit quietly when they ask for volunteers for club officers! By the way complaining about the stuff in the background of a video is the furthest thing you should be doing when we can all tell you are in you bedroom instead of a studio area😂.

Can you guys really speak to the security issues and why it happened. I have worked for a company, and we ran pretty tight security but we had someone get in and caused us to shutdown for a month due to ransomware. How it gets into a network is multi-faceted and is a huge issue facing the world. Do you know why logbook of the world is taking longer to get back online???? I joined back in the 70’s. Enjoyed QST magazine when it was a good publication. Haven’t subscribed in ages since. I heard there’s a lot of internal politics in the ARRL and power struggles that they’ve lost the respect of the ham radio community. They need to get their heads out of each other’s butts.

They are a useless, self serving organization, and apparently they use the same advertising agency as the NRA and AARP. Their national headquarters are in shambles currently, described as a very hostile working environment.
