With the s5000 I was able to create a single 128gb drive. Took ages, but worth it.

thanx... pretty complicated, as u mentioned (i have done the installment for a mpc 2000 xl with an integrated zulu card, took me several days to get it working the way i want) do you use the free translator version or the pro one?

I just bought a Gotek plug and play drive on eBay from a company that specialises in all sorts of samplers and hardware. Just let them know what your kit it you want the drive for and they do the rest. Got a 16gb SD card included and pre formatted. They’re easy to install and work straight away. No formatting or SD card partitioning needed. They cost between £50-70 for the drives. Cost difference is for slightly larger screens. Worked like a charm in my Akai S5000 and S3000xl. Easy to install and once fitted are really easy to use AND can load large samples with no bother. 👍🏼 They even load a bunch of samples for you as well.

This is great but what are the midi settings on the xr18?

Thanks for the Translator tips. I had been using a folder shortcut hack to get the zulu drives to appear in virtual drives.

I can totally relate to the Strat single-coil vs Humbucker clean tone thing....but I've never liked the thin sound of splitting humbuckers until I bought my first PRS...they don't split the HB 100% (partial coil split)...they put a resistor (ca. 2K-10K etc.) between the splittet coil and the ground which results in a thicker more natural sc tone...easy mod, big effect...the higher the resistor the more of the splittet coil comes through

Any idea why the midi out of the xr18 isn't changing my pedal? I have logic sending midi messages thru the xr18 and it's not working. I've literally tried everything so maybe there's something I'm missing that isn't obvious?

Is there a way to simultaneously mute one effect, while unmuting another? Say you have two different delays and wanted to swap them at some point in a performance.

Your video was EXACTLY what I was looking for - now I don't need to shell out $400+ for a DAW controller surface with motorized faders, as these endless knobs are totally fine for me, as long as the LED's are working in Cubase... and you made it work - and made this very nice guide! Thank you for this video. I have been thinking about buying a smaller device for quick control on Cubase. A device that fist on my desk. And I was worried about the integration with Cubase, especially these visible led values. Now I just ordered the Xtouch Mini..... Update. Now when I got the X-Touch Mini and followed your tutorial I'm so happy, since I would have never figured this out otherwise.

Hey Steve, do you think it's possible to get XR18 delay FX tap tempo from my Line6 HD500x?

I have a question and I'm hoping somebody who frequents this video might find it and be able to answer it. Does the Behringer XR18 incorporate any function for midi timecode MTC? I'm wondering if there is a way that I can output or input which means I could cross convert to SMPTE LTC timecode in some fashion. My alternative is to just eat a channel.

Hi Steve, thanks for this. I just got the xtouch mini and I'm not sure what I'm not doing right but nothing seems to work. I got the quick controls to work as you did in your video but I can't find any information anywhere as to how to set it up with cubase to be able to control the trasnport, levels, read/write etc. Hope you can help. Great video. I have the XR 18 and A few years ago I decided to connect midi pedals for recording and controlling my iPad for song trigger and page turning. I’d moved away from it but now using the BEATBUDDY and other singular devices looking to do some recording a live stage performance. The ability to isolate things and doing the click track as well as stopping, starting and muting and unmuting channels is what I’m thinking for live stage with acoustic microphones. I do not have a looper control box nor have I seen 1 the works with both 1/4 inch and XLR combine. This will allow me to on the fly hands free control on or off the channels in and out of the XR & Aeros with designated inputs. This avoids having to use 2 mixers as well.

Hi, this is a neat little trick. I was wondering if it's possible to assign custom key commands in Cubase to VST functions, for example assigning a certain key on the computer keyboard to switch a guitar effect on and off etc? If so, how? Thanks.

Do you happen to know how many channels you can bank? Can you bank over like say 1-8 to 9-16 to 16-24 to 24 to 32 to adjust the volumes on the mixerchannels if you have a lot of tracks? Bless
