I can't determine the market Garrett is after. Which detector are they trying to get you to leave and go to the vortex? All the current detectors from Nokta and Minelab are a better value and performance with a better price. What is Garrett marketing plan? I'd stay with my old F75 before getting the vortex.

I run my manticore 10mhz works great on coins I ran my 800 in 10mhz worked for me

As a canadain with steel core canadaian clad, i almost NEVER use multifrequency, on the legend im always hunting in 40khz and the deus 1 i hunt in 30khz or 70khz, just got the deus 2 for black friday but ill probably run it in single frequency too when i get to use it in the spring If you have any steel core change, under 24khz and they just sound like iron on the deus 2 in air tests, you can a nice squeak off of higher frequencies on them I may use FMF on the beach, i took the deus 1 to the beach once and it was screaming on the black sand, freshwater beach

I ran mono high freq silencer 0 6.6 disc. Send ft disc 6.8 silencer 1. Same sensitivity same reactivity when comparing on located targets.

I have a Sako p94s already.Should I convert to 17hm2 or buy a 22lr CZ 457 or the Tikka T1X 22lr and put 17hm2 sporter barrel on one of them? Since you have owned them all ! Your experience could and will save me a lot of time.and money. I would rather not learn the hard way. What do you recommend? I can find either one in my area used. Both have a lot of different models to chose from. Thanks for the truth.

Not a bad idea actually. If I were relic hunting in Europe......perhaps I would like to dig up possible Roman nails.......but not modern bottle caps. This could be useful. Or here in Canada where a lot of our clad rings in like bottle caps perhaps I would like to allow those bottle cap tones but still block out the nails.

What if that bottle cap was another mid conductor like a wad of foil? Or a piece of can? Something a little closer to the ring in conductivity? Will the screen still be useful? The upper and lower ferrous limits will not. Everyone like to compare to rusty iron but..........modern fields and parks are contaminated with more cans and foil than iron.

Hummmm! I do see your point and is well taken. But, for me, having bottle cap rejection means that I do not dig them, and that works fine for me. I dig less iron with the Deus II than any other detector that I have owned over the last 53 tears. Thanks for your time and effort you put into resting. You think of and find more situations and are an asset to the hobby.

I wonder if it is better that it is VDI 4 and not 70 with BC reject If the VDI is 4 and its masking a better target it may push the number up maybe a bit higher than 4 But if it shows 70 and its masking another target you may not notice a change in VDI Just a guess, i could be eay off base

Option to enable audio given for either or targets showing up in either upper ferrous limits region or lower ferrous limits region. Just the audio. The rest of how the different regions behave with their settings with certain targets swept would not change. Remember. Lower ferrous limit targets are generally shallower unlike say nails that show up in upper ferrous lilmits region.

I love my manticore I bought a 9” coil for it and in no time found a beautiful 14k band on a beach it’s my go to machine especially in saltwater. And I hunt in no discrimination
