Thanks Jesse, I have lived in Ozark for 33 years and I still don't know the best restaurants in the area. I hate to waste money eating out because we only do that about every three weeks or so. We like any cuisine as long as it's done well. We could never visit all of the places available in this lifetime, so I want/need to know the best. thanks again.

Wow! When we lived in Republic, I have personally driven past every one of them. 😮. Seriously, your videos make me homesick for the Ozarks.

I'm glad you know of these, Matthew!!! We tried to find the hidden ones, so I'm impressed.

Btw, I recognized that little sandwich shop on Walnut. That used to be Maria's, which has since moved to South Street, a couple of blocks south of the square. They had the best carne asada burritos in Springfield that I had yet found. As a recovering San Diegan, I ate there a frequently as I could.

Maria's was great! It moved to another spot nearby and sadly just shut down in 2022. 🥲 It will be greatly missed!!!

One of the best ones apparently closed a few years ago...
On Glenstone, off to the side of an old strip-mall, there used to be this pizza place that had perfected the art of super-thin, super-crispy cracker crust pizza. I forget the correct name of the place, but everyone I know down there just called it "Two Lesbians' Pizza"... because it was owned and run by a longtime lesbian couple. So nondescript-looking that you could be forgiven for thinking it was a laundromat.
Nothing nondescript about the pizza, though! It's what we call a "St. Louis style" up here, but THESE results kicked any other cracker-crust pizza right to the curb. The first bites would shower you with crumbs; it was SO crisp that the crust would become something like you see with a properly-made Cuban sandwich, with crumbs flying everywhere on every bite.
Supposedly the two lesbians finally closed the joint to retire. Very cool. But the pizzas were non-duplicable. Also, the joint had been around since the mid-1950s, which is an astonishing track record. Definitely missed by my partner and I.

I'm a HUGE fan of cracker crust, so it's too bad I didn't get a chance to go!!! I'm sure it would have been a favorite place to go! 🤩

@@wiserlivingrealtyAs it turns out, I had that wrong-ish. Our friend Phil pointed out that they moved to Commercial, and while the original owners had long retired, Pizza House is still a thing!
Almost makes me want to jump in the car and punch it for one of their ultra-thin slices of heaven!
