This is the exact smae guitar I got a few months ago. So far I really like it. I only made one change, I got a set of brass compensated bridge saddles. The guitar sounds good with the factory saddles, but the compensated saddles really helped to fine tune it.

the weight of the Yamaha bb234 (Lbs/Kgs) ?

Many C40/CX40 have the buzz problem (here can be heard at 0:30). My C40 has buzz on few frets, not fixable considering the price (only very high action but then it is not very playable). The deck/bridge is also buzzy adding unpleasant resonances when playing amplified. These are not suitable for pickups unless you play very soft and precise, not for emotional pieces.

NLA of course (superseded model) the ceramic pickups in this guitar are nothing short of fabulous. Build quality too was superb, exceptional at its price point if understandably absent the prettier trim aspects such as binding, two tone colour schemes and additional cutaways to produce such a quality instrument and preserve segmentation at this price point.

Cx40 has a passive preamp. do you think , change to active preamp is better.

Great sounds

I like the natural finish. I'm a longtime drummer and beginner guitarist looking to pick up bass once I'm feeling satisfied with my guitar playing, and this exact bass is the one I'm eyeing. It just has the look and sound I'm imagining when I think of a bass.

The neck gets very warm and sticky which is annoying. But other than that it's a great guitar for the money!

Yamaha fg 800m is really nice guitar. I was disappointed when I received the guitar. But it's sound became amazing after 1 mth later. I love it.

Yamaha is a very underrated guitar manufacturer. Quality instruments at a very reasonable price.
