This was VERY helpful!! Thank you! WA8APB
Just getting started with log4om, thanks for this. It helps.
Thx very much for this very good video. A pleasure to follow and it works !!! 73 de ON3STG.
You put this up a LONG time ago but has just helped me a lot thank you very much.
Thanks for the tutirial..its very informative. I am 3 years old and new to logging interface of log4om and wstjx/Gridtracker. I am using Log4om and WSJTX but separately. I changed the settings as per the video. I am using Cat cable to connect with the radio. When the wsjtx is running, the log4om does not connect, i think its because I am using the same cable for both. I dont know how to create a virtual port separately for log4om or wsjtx. Will be grateful for helping me out. 73 de vu2eii
You did a good job. Will follow your setup. Tnx WD6EDT
Liked this video and got my set up working first time. I had recently set up two instances of wsjtx for 2 rigs. Followed your advice about keeping both upd set ups the same. Both now logging to log4om. But then saw your video on two instances where they used a multi road cast set up. Please can you clarify the different reporting set ups? Regards Bill from UK.
Great activation, great fun!
Yes it was. I plan to do more POTA in 2024!
Thank you for your help 2e1paw

I hope that you will answer me on this Question. In WSJTX the server ports numbering is turned around could that cause a problem? Good video and explanations. I also have FLrig to work, control, my Xiegu G90 radio. Leon ZS3LB 73 Sorry could you also add your new Video shortcut, TY
+L my 5 pence Thanks for your comments and feedback. The port’s numbers in my video are examples only, you can use different ones as long as you put them correctly in the different software configurations. Let me know if you have any issue making in work!

Thank for the video. How can I see all worked grid of my log ?
Thanks for the feedback. If you have your log and/or your LOTW account synced with Gridtracker, you just need to scroll thru the overlays until you get the "Grids" overlay and it should show all worked and confirmed grids. If you need further help, please let me know. 73 de Santiago HI8O
Well done video, thank you. I'm trying to set up 2 radios for SO2R to see if I would like to use the mode for contesting.
Thanks for your kind feedback. I have never used it for contesting, but it should work fine. Let me know how it goes please and good luck. 73 de Santiago HI8O
Excellent explanation.... Perfecto . Question: If I have "1" instance of WSJT-X that is configured exactly how I want it, inc some "Configurations"... . I now want to Run a "2nd" instance with the (--rig=name) Which files do I need to copy "From" the 1st Instance "To" the 2nd Instance so the configurations are identical. Many Thanks...
+Dave H thanks for your feedback and for watching the video. Unfortunately whenever we create a new instance of Wsjtx it starts from zero (with all info in blanks). What I do is open the old one next to the new one and go tab but tab configuring alike. 73 de Santiago HI8O + KB8SM
Looks like we have something to discuss next week? 😮. Sorry to see this
+HAM RADIO DUDE yes indeed. Fortunately the damage was limited considering what could’ve happen.

Oh man that’s horrible 🥺 my condolences
Thanks. It’s been a few weeks now and now it’s when it’s starting to sink in. Its hard.

Yes, it’s a sad moment.
Brilliant video, thank you. I have been messing about for over an hour trying to make it work. The Log4OM instructions for this configuration are absolutely rubbish. Thank you very much! 73 John, 2E0SVB

After applying those new IP addresses, nothing working correctly anymore. WSJT-X does not communicate with GridTracker, and I stopped messing to get even worse. Reinstalling all softwares again. :(
I am sorry for your troubles. Let me know if you fixed the issues.
Gracias. 73 EA5IZK.
Is that the Yaesu FTDX10?
No, unfortunately no. It’s the Yaesu FT-991
Hello Santiago, I have not installed WSJT-X yet, as I am trying to wrap my head around the process of installing and configuring WSJT-X, and Grid Tracker... I suspect I will also install JT-Alert later. I am having troubles understanding a couple of things, and perhaps you can help. What are the advantages of having WSJT-X sending the logging information to Grid Tracker, then GT sends the info to Log4OM (as you have shown here), verses just sending the logging information from WSJT-X directly to Log4OM? It seems to me that it might require more resources, and it will require Grid Tracker to be up and running in order to log QSOs. The other question - If I install and use JT-Alert - I understand that I don't want to automatically send log info to Log4OM from the Alert program - after all it is just logging alerts, Right?. However, I didn't follow your explanation of sending the JT-Alert data to a separate file. You lost me with what you were doing next... I watched the video a couple of times to try to understand. What is the second file for? Can you help me understand. Thank you & 73
Greetings from DL1GGX. Will stay at Santo Domingo End og octubre
Great! If you reach out we could arrange a meeting and if you want to operate from DR let me know and we can assist in obtaining de Portable License.
@@hamworldonline Hello, will be at Santo Domingo from 09.06.2024 to 05.07.2024 - woul be great to meet. Question: is it possible to take a ham-radio portable to the republic without dominican licens (only to hear) or is it illegal ? Next year i will try to get the Residence to stay there
The only missing part is the connection at Log4OM...i am stucks at tht part...i am using XieguG90 and use FLrig to connect to WSJT..should i use Hamlib and forced ICOM CI-V address??
i just use Xiegu X5105 and CAT connected
Hi brother great video de 2e0ree 73
Great informative video. I was struggling with the setup and understanding of connections. Thanks G4ZEO
Thank you for watching and for your kind feedback. 73 de Santiago
I have been looking for a way to populate the callsign that I am working into log4om for months. Thanks for making this video. One question: when running wsjt-x without gridtracker the qso no longer logs to log4om. How would I get it to still log when gridtracker is not running?
Sorry for the long delay on replying. In case you havent fixed the issue yet: in WSJTX in the Reporting tab, check on Secondary UDP to allow QSO info to go to Log4OM and set the IP address and UDP port to Log4OM. This will send the QSO's to the log when not using Gridtracker. Personally, I prefer to always run GT when doing FT8/FT4. 73 de Santiago HI8O
Great job, Santiago. This is exactly what I needed to get all three pieces of software working together. 73.
Thanks for watching and for your feedback. 73 De Santiago
Hello Santiago. I am so glad I found your video because I was stumped on how to do the UDP connections. I am using WSJTX LOG4OM and JT Alert, but no grid tracker. Can you make a video showing all the settings without gridtracker? Thank you so very much for your consideration.
Thanks for watching and for your comments. I would do my best to have a video about it but for the moment I’ll put a stet by step for you if you like, please write me an email, I’m good on QRZ. 73 de Santiago
Santiago Thank you so much - Three questions 1) when your video is one year old do you have any concerns about your solution still working? 2) in two videos concerning log4OM configurations there are outbound UDP settings that you do not discuss in the videos what do they do? Other than that I am good with anything you can do to help me! I am going to try to set up Grid tracker 3)but can you show me a solution where you do log to jtalert instead of a standard adif file?
I could not find your email address.
Please forgive me everyone but this topic is completely new to me. How is the radio (FT-5DR for example) connected to the pc to be able to use this software?
Great video. I stumbled upon your video while trying decide what logging software I want to start using. I am dumping HRD. I think you sold me on Log4OM2. I am happy to see that you are actively responding to posted questions. Thanks for that. So here are a few questions for you: Will Log4OM also interface with FLDigi? I assume it will have similar UDP setting to configure. Since I do not anticipate running FLDigi and WSJT at the same time, can I share the same incoming UDP inbound connections or should I create separate connections and ports for FLDigi? Thanks and 73
Thank you for watching and for your comments. Unfortunately, FLDiGI and FLRIG are the only programs I haven’t been able to get working since I started ham radio long time ago. For unknown reasons all my attempts to get FLDIG working have failed. If I do I’ll make a video. 73 De Santiago HI8O + KB8SM

Hi brother nice to see you back I still never got the price
Yes, I saw your message. I´m preparing to send you (DHL) a second one (on Thrusdsay). Don´t know what the mail did with the first one the previous 2 attemps. My apologies.
I’m a newbie to digital modes. Near the end you said the downside to this config was you have to update the audit file every few days or so. Why? What do you mean by “update”? Please explain in more detail. for us newbies. .
First, thanks for watching and for commenting. What I meant is that because in this set up, JTAlert is not used for logging (I use Gridtracker to send qso to logger), then JTAlert won´t updated automatically the confirmed contacts I have. Therefore to keep JTAlert being useful I must manualy update the adif file (with the worked and confirmed contacts). Please note that this set up was for educational purposes, currently I am not using JTAlert and just kept Gridtracker, Log4OM and WSJTX. Hope I clarified your question, if not please let me know. 73 de Santiago, HI8O + KB8SM
