Over here in West TN we have poa that seems to be resistant to everything. Princep worked for decades then stopped. Specticle worked about 5 years then stopped. I think using 5 oz of glyphosate is begging for glyphosate resistant poa.

What volume was application made at? Was it watered in to “activate” pre. I think both are crucial in the control of poa.

Can you guys do more experiments with less expensive herbicides for residential Bermuda lawns? Tower, Katana and Specticle are really expensive.

I put down Negate 1.5 oz/A or 0.034 oz/1000 sq ft, Barricade 24.6 oz/A or 0.565 oz/1000 sq ft, Princep 32 oz/A or 0.735 oz/1000 sq ft one time application late September 2023 for my annual problem with Poa Annua. I was extremely disappointed with the results. There was no improvement.

Poa annua isn't very hard to control, Poa trivialis is the one that's a nightmare especially in cool-season lawns. There should be more studies on that

Endothall. A blast from the past. It was registered for turf weed control until the 1980. Taken off the market because of toxicity to humans and marginal safety to turfgrass at labeled rates

The turf grass industry should approach all major sports industries that play/train on natural grass surfaces to get on board with the promotion of natural grass and A list cultivars. Athletes love natural grass over artificial turf, it’s better for the environment and would limit exposure to harmful chemicals from rubber crumb infills❤

I'm a Turfgrass manager here in eastern TN Tri-Cities area and I work more with the homeowners and the do it yourselfers, and I have been trying to get them to utilize more of the Extension Office and its resources that they have available. I think the smaller focused groups would be more beneficial to this community.

When I combine 2 different herbicides, say the 1st is 2oz per gallon water and the 2nd is 3oz per gallon water . Do I add 2oz of the first and 3oz of the second into 1 or 2 gallons water ?

Thank you for the latest useful information on turf disease. From several years ago, the occurrence of fairing in green bentgrass has been also expanding in S. Korea, and some take-all patche and Pythium root rot are prevailing.

Since Pylex is discontinued, what's the recommended alternative targeting goosegrass in Bermuda athletic fields. I was having great results with Pylex/Speedzone but I can't buy Pylex no longer.

Excellent talk & speakers (as always)! A clarification: Iowa State seeded our 365ss Kentucky Bluegrass Blend for their sod farm, which is a 3-Way blend of Legend, Blue Note, & Bolt KBG varieties. Those 3 are only sold together in the 365ss blend. 👍

Kerb at 28 oz rate in single application will cause serious turf injury/kill with overlap from pass to pass over green, so the katana mix rate would be a concern. Stick to split apps with kerb for safety. Should have shown a split rate app of kerb and katana mix.

Dr. Brosnan. I am really enjoying your videos on Poa Annua control. In this video, you mention tank mixing multiple MoAs. Have you all ever tested glyphosate plus glufosinate in a mixture? This would seem to address glyphosate resistance issues. Would this mixture damage the bermuda or delay greenup?
