Thank !
I started off with XE2 (same sensor as XT1), then upgraded to XT20, then to XT3. Eventually I downgraded back to the XT1. Just something about the sensor that's very magical. Hold on to that camera body. The newer sensors don't look as nice when paired with legacy lenses like your pentax lens.
Thank you for the review, you are great photographer ❤
What film stock were you using during those shoots?
@@sergioruiz9464 mostly Kodak Gold 200
changing this camera for another one because of the viewfinder - it's just awful that I see so much extra that even not be on the photo by the end! Canon, why? just why?..
I bought my girlfriend one two years ago. Got myself one too as a backup to my Leicas because the images are so lovely and it takes basically all films with DX codes. From ISO 50 to 3200.
can you download the photos to your mobile from this camera
@@zlobik111 Not from the camera directly, no.
Such a great high production value vid! SA represent!
which film do you use normally? Kodak 200 oder 400? Fuji 200?
I was like, this guy sounds South African... as soon as I finished that thought, I heard the Hadida in the background 🤣
wow that camera is nice!
I've enjoyed photography for many years but my budget has always kept me from being able to actually buy a decent camera. now that I have just a couple hundred dollars to invest into the hobby, I'm thinking making this camera my very first camera purchase when going into the photography space. I'm really excited by your video and all the related videos regarding this camera. it really seems like it will fit my style and what I am aspiring to. thank you for the helpful resource!
Im looking at an X300. This Kodak Gold seems to go very well with it! Great video, thank you!
Great review! I’m going on a trip and want to take portraits of people with this camera. How would be a proper distance to subject in order to take nice portraits? Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks 👍🏽
Thank you. From my experience I have found around 2-3 meters is the sweet spot as the lens is slightly wide at 34mm
I just bought my first Fuji camera, an X-t1 just like you but 2 years later. Thanks for your video. I have been wanting to try fuji for a while now too.
Thanks Robert. Enjoy the camera. Still enjoying mine a few years later.
Hey ours Michael Ealy's brother. Seriously the EOS 5 / A2E is a great camera. It gives users a lot of latitude over the image. The eye control is pretty cool too. Would be nice if Canon and all the other Great camera makers would start manufacturing cameras again. Bring back the good old days when film cameras were King and people actually learned Photography.
Picked one up for 30 bucks and the images are super nice.
I have both an EOS A2 and an EOS 5. They are both GREAT cameras, but there are some minor differences. Unlike the A2e or 5, the EOS A2 has a viewfinder diopter adjustment above the viewfinder. The EOS 5 has a Exposure Compensation Scale while in Manual mode, while the A2 and A2e have the silly + or - arrows instead. Because I wear reading glasses, I added a +0.5 diopter correction eyepiece to my EOS 5, so now it is my preferred of the two.
My partner just gifted me one, I am super excited to put it in use. Thanks for the video :)
Nice video with a long shelf-life, like this camera. Just had one handed to me by a friend of a friend... first roll in development. My fingers are crossed! Thanks for sharing - appreciate it. PS - those portraits are beautiful. (Will prob adapt my existing FD 135 2.5 and possibly FD 55 1.2, although I'm tempted to get an EF 85mm.).
Popped up in my suggested feed, I own one! My first film camera, it’s so good. I bought it for £27 and it’s so much more accessible compared to the MJU and Yashica T4 price wise. The two rolls I’ve put through are sharp and feel proud of the stuff I’ve shot. Great video!
Hey man, those things are Gems. I love mine after so many rolls. Happy shooting
Pas cher ? Tout est relatif. Un X-T5 vis-à-vis d'un Leica, c'est aussi bon marché.
Could you please do more with this this camera I have the same one and I'm also South African and I love this video
Id love to create more with this camera but unfortunately it was stolen a while back.
Hello, request for a hint. Sometimes I take pictures with a flash indoors and when I used an SLR I didn't have this problem and now when I have a Fuji XT1 mirrorless camera there is a problem with the dark viewfinder. In the SLR, you know what I would not set, you can always see in the viewfinder, in the mirrorless camera, the automatic selects, say, 1/10s and it's ok, but I want to use the flash in the manual, e.g. 1/100, it gets dark, how can it be avoided so that the viewfinder does not react to change the exposure relative to the one suggested by the automation?
Hi there, Go to the set-up menu (wrench icon) and then to "Screen Set-Up", then to "Preview Exp/WB in Manual Mode" and turn that setting OFF. You'll then be able to see what you're doing in the EVF/LCD.
@@rowanpatrick_ Thanks, I just found this on the menu yesterday.
Inspired to get my own! Great video, following you on IG for more great work!
Thanks for this. Asked my grandmother if she had an old film camera and she found this. Do you typically use 200 ISO film?
Awesome stuff. I typically use 200 or 400 ISO films as I find them most versatile.
@@rowanpatrick_ 400 in darker settings only? or do they work fine in daylight as well?
@@trattface 400 works okay in daylight but I would favour 200 and then try 400 for the darker scenarios.
Such a great little camera. Regret selling mine.
You making me want one. I’m going to have a lookout for one now. What film stock do you use mostly in the camera.
You won’t be disappointed Bools. I tend to use either Kodak gold or Colorplus most of the time.
@@rowanpatrick_ also when you say it’s cheap, what’s cheap lol. Saw some on eBay that goes between 2-3,5k lol
@@MrBully001 eBay prices will always be inconsistent. They pop up locally from between R300 to R1500.
SA film photography scene blowing up is so good to see. 🔥 super surprised by this little package as well - your shots are so dope as well man!
Appreciate the kind words my dude.
Thanks my guy, your words are too kind 😊
I've seen you grow with this thing dude! Seriously underrated piece of gear. But also those shots all look amazing, you serve as inspiration for us to compose and frame better🔥 I loved how this video was made BTW. Feels like we're chilling, talking about the camera over a cup of coffee.
Rewatching this brilliant review🔥
which recipe do you use here in your video?
I normally use the film simulation ASTIA and then do adjustments in lightroom.
Thanks for putting this together man
Which camera was this shot on
Oh nevermind...sorry🤣
Absolutely amazing
Wait you're south african 😱😱🙊
Yes I am 😌
00:30 I like the music you have chosen gentleman. I think you're new to UA-cam. Keep in mind that even UA-cam Audio library's no copyright called songs actually have copyrights. Most of the time copyright problems occur after 2 years you shared your video with this kind of music. The artist will not notice your video or the artist is wiser and not gonna make a copyright strike. These are the only chances you have if you are lucky. This is mainly because, UA-cam Audio library doesn't sign a lifetime contract with artists. They usually sign 2 year. After 2 year artists are free to strike copyrights and earn money from your videos. That happened to me and I had no option other than changing the music / not earning money. I have started using the musics that UA-cam Studio offers, which are absolutely 💯 % reliable and 💯% no copyright. There are nice jazz blues in there, which I use for background soft music. Other option is to use only small portions of the music. So, it will reduce the chance of the artist to notice it. And also, even if the artist have striked copyright, you can easily replace it without spoiling the whole video. With the other words, consider how easy it is gonna be to change the copyrighted music in case.
Nice video. I like the intro music
Thanks 👍
I bought mine in 2014 just after it was released. Just two months ago I bought another one because that first one was soon going to die So far that's not happened So now I have TWO XT1s Absolutely the best camera I've ever used I agree completely with everything you say. Actually one thing I don't agree with :this camera would be really good value even at a higher price LOL
I am considering doing the same route, well done video!
nice video, very relaxing music and i like the pictures you took. subscribed:)
Thanks Chris. I appreciate the kind words.
What an excellent video, and even more outstanding photographic skill! Kudos to you my guy, it was a blast making this! Also, nice music choice btw🔥💯
Thanks my guy. Really appreciate you hanging with me and creating this. Many more to come
would love if youtubers would write f. iso, shutter speed and conditions just as a small foot note on their example photos, they show in their videoes..
Is it a good one for portraits
Nice and simple video. Thank you
Glad you liked it
Hey man, quick question, how do you import/edit your photos on to your laptop with the Minolta X300? Nice Vid!
hey man sorry for the later reply. I get the film developed by a lab and they give me digital scans of the files.
Where do you buy the film?
when you take a shot, it doesn't show the picture on the screen afterwords!!!
i still used it now my xt1 workhorse for my portrait
For ex film shooters, Fuji is the one to get. The prints from studio shots I get from the XT1, is better than what I got from my 6x6 Hasselblad loaded with Agfapan 100, or EPR. And its not even full frame!
