    if you do the 30K do you just leave whenever you finish or do you have to pace it out until sunrise?

      If there is a 30K, Normally the RD has it where they come in later in race. And the 30 would finish up in the morning during sunrise along with other distances. If he did it the same way as before that is.

    Considering this race for my first 100 + mile race and my wife's first 100 miler. What's the course like and do you recommend it? How was the aid station? Awesome finish and a lot of miles! Thanks!

    • @MangoRunner
      @MangoRunner 5 місяців тому

      Hi! Yes, I totally recommend it. 5k flat around a strawberry farm with generous 48 hours cutoff. A lot of runners did their 1s hundred here. The weather can be very nice, windy, very cold, very hot, pretty unpredictable. There is 1 main aid station, and some runner even bring food or cook food for aid station. Depending on your pace, you can even get in a good sleep and still get the 100 miler.

    I keep seeing this race a 25,500ft gain or 16,000ish. Am I missing something? Nice vid btw.

    • @MangoRunner
      @MangoRunner Рік тому

      I had 17K on my watch when I ran this, every watch is different and depends on how they had it set also. From the climb I did, I am guessing it is somewhere between 16,500 to 18,000. Unless the course is different. Depending on weather and trail conditions, the course can be change.

      @@MangoRunner The RD let me know its 25,000 gain, and that is consistent with other sources. the route has not changed since you ran it. Maybe that's why it appeared so difficult for you! thanks as always for the vids. Great for scouting out races.

      @@MangoRunner No idea what the elevation is! Heard everything from 17k-20k on the trail this weekend. Many thought the RD exaggerated (maybe to make sure everyone came in prepped!).

      @@alexandereast4072 Probably. Can check a few runners after the race and see what are some gains are. Watches record differently by brands/tracking mode. But can get a good idea what the climb is.

      @MangoRunner Рік тому

      Sorry to hear. I hope you disc issues can get better. When I had sciatica it hurt real bad from the nerve when pinched it or so from a certain movement. I went to a running performance therapy that deals mainly with runners and they diagnose certain disc is misalign and caused the pain. They did some soft correction movement on me and showed some exercises to do on my own. I recommend find other things to do that can bring you joy. I am also a vivid gardener, planting veggies and see them bloom is mental therapy for me. I wish you get better my friend.
