Trade unions fighting against global militarism with Alex Gordon
Alex Gordon, President of the Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport workers (RMT) and a national officer of the Stop the War Coalition, joins Ileana Chan and Fiona Edwards for Episode 8 of the No Cold War Britain Podcast.
In this episode we discuss the escalating global war drive being led by the US and the destabilising role of expanding military blocs - NATO and AUKUS.
At a time of rising military budgets and savage austerity in the Global North we discussed the importance of building links between the movements against austerity and war in Britain. We also discuss what internationalists in Britain can learn from the incredible rise of China and the Global South today.
The No Cold War Britain Podcast aims to bring you in-depth monthly discussion on the key issue of our time - building the movement to stop the U.S. new cold war offensive and Britain’s role in this major threat to world peace and prosperity.

The problem with Americans is that they think they are exceptional. But they are not, most inventions attributed to Americans were actually invented by immigrants to the USA from around the world. The Chinese think that everyone outside of China is a barbarian, the British just want to live in the past, and most Russians appear to love vodka more than they love life.

Is the Newseum in Europe that Vijay is talking about connected to the same Newseum in Washington DC which presents the establishment view of history, like the fall of the Berlin Wall. Probably from the pentagon CIA propaganda department which also spins Pearl Harbor Hawaii and Panmunjom Korea history with Western bias.

War and economics experts suggest that we strongly believes that usa and uk will go bankruptcy very soon,,,???.. so usa will defaults on 31.4 trillions usa dollars very very hugh financial debts crisis now and usa keep on printing more dollars but not dare to assure and guarantee its overprinted dollars trustworthy now,?. Like we all holders of usa dollars can very easily exchange for 1ozs of pure solid gold coins or gold bars from usa central treasury bank for how many usa dollars anymore now,,,??... So we saw all nations start to ditch usa dollars and don't trade in unguarantee usa overprinted dollars anymore now,,,???. So uk will be drag down by usa automatic due to uk strongly support usa and drag down by usa and not onlu uk we see all European nations all drag down by usa and uk and now we see all west in very very deep financial troubles and problems now and in financial crisis now,,,??? And due to usa and eu financial troubles and problems now and the nato, and usa financial support to ukriane,,?. Has indirectly drag all usa and uk and European nations to all go bankruptcy at helpless and due to war has totally destroy and destruction on usa and uk and European Union into collapse very very soon, ,,???.. all go bankruptcy one after another,,,??....

Because of the insecurity and jealousy of these individuals, lack of respect and empathy, also not educated with correct information of their own choosing for centuries decades of history of the past, some people are still living in. Unfortunately , because of these individuals, we are all suffering from this ignorance. Instead of welcoming the truth, different cultures, the new world, allowing us to live in harmony, some people just don’t want to understand , also, afraid of what others would do, therefore limiting our ability to experience the new world. In return, the country is just too far behind the times, and also, the powerful lobbyists continue to control our society, with the corrupt system that they planned in our government for decades, just to secure their wealth, so , the people are forced to accept the evil empire that exists in our country.

Left-wing publication? There is only one voice in China and that is the CCP. The only debate on policy is within the top ranks of the Party. What the people think is completely irrelevant. The CCP is the only power and runs the country on its own. Just as the emperor did back in the old days. It's not control that matters because the CCP runs the whole shebang. The people can think what they like as what they think has no impact on how China is run. The only people who matter in China are those few hundred who rule the Party. Do not listen to CCP propaganda which this is. China is the kingdom of lies.

The "West" are graduated forms of feudal aristocratic right; and they are instinctively hostile to China, which ended aristocratic privilege 2,200 years ago. No way are two opposed historical evolutions misunderstanding each other for 2 millennia. They are genuine enemies. They know each other too well. And China will lose.

The sheer amount of recorded and documented data and anecdotal evidence that Tings Chak has to ignore, gloss over, pretend doesn't exist, pretend isn't what it is, etc. is staggeringly breathtaking and dishonest. To package legitimate complaints other countries (not just "The Evil West") have about China as mere lies, old racisms, mere Tumpisms, and things to dismiss and scoff at makes this video either a propaganda hit piece against "The West", Western self-hate, or the perceptions of a privileged class that truly cannot see what is hidden from her pampered and protected view. She is like a tourist to Bermuda who swears she never saw poverty or poor people (because they are hidden from tourists' view and banned from tourist areas). She is the Marie Antoinette of the CCP government. (1) Western Complaints against "China" are not against the country or the people of China, but against the CCP government, especially in the recent, post-Hu leadership of Xi Jinping. (2) "Wolf Warrior Diplomacy" (A moniker coined from the 'Wolf Warrior 2' nationalistic action film') was an actual policy change of Beijing's previously conventional diplomacy with an aim to disarm foreign critics through public confrontations and emotionally evocative language. For Tinks Chak to dismiss it as a Western delusion is to ignore the thousands of speeches, press conferences, Twitter posts, etc. of diplomats and spokespeople such as Zhao Lijian and Victor Gao. Even the ones that went too far and were deleted can still be found easily: The Internet does not forget. (3) Tinks Chak and this channel is correct about one thing: It is wrong to compare the relationship between China and the West, or China and the rest of the war as a Soviet-style 'Cold War'. It is not a Cold War. It is a gray war, a non-kinetic hot war, an Unrestricted War, an Unseen War, and a war with many useful idiots and patsies and innocents coerced to participate. But, the war is not Cold, anymore if it ever was. The anti-CCP push is not limited to Right-wing demagogues and while people like Trump and Marine Le Pen may confuse issues with their racist xenophobia against everybody who doesn't look like them, responsible people on both sides of the political spectrum in MOST countries (I'm a Boston Democrat, for instance) have serious concerns, criticisms, complaints and grievances against Xi Jinping's CCP. We also have deep resentment and suspicion toward the witting and unwitting apologists who bend over backward to defend the indefensible.

The same shady thinktanks and media outlets from the Anglosphere have been predicting the collapse of the EU "next year" for 30 years. It gets amusing at this point, specially when the whole world is witnesing the decline/collapse of the US/UK tandem to unprecedented levels, without even realizing it themselves, or at least without even mention it at the very same media that predict the collapse of China and the EU.

The western countries are rich, not because their people are smarter or more hardworking than the people of the Global South, but because, over the past 500 years, they stole the equivalent of thousands of trillions of dollars worth of wealth that belonged to the Global South countries, like gangs of thieves and murderers become rich by stealing the wealth of other people. In the process, the western countries murdered more than one billion people. China is becoming a rich country thanks to the hard work and ingenuity of its people and to trade and peaceful cooperation with other countries. In the process, China helps other countries to become rich also.

War is not inevitable. War can be prevented by isolating China economically with sanctions, trade quotas, and massive tariffs. The Chinese people will suffer but the good thing about this is that they will riot. Xi will be so busy putting down rebellions that he will not have time to think about war and with enough pain the CCP will find the courage to depose the Tyrant Xi. Then we can start discussing trade and the rule of law with China Most importantly it will bankrupt China which will eliminate China's ability to prepare for war and will stop China's practice of bribing politicians in the west and developing nations. most importantly Africa. Asia needs a NATO-like organisation that is comprised of all of the Asian nations being threatened by China - Japan, Korea, India, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh. This organisation would be backed by the alliance of USA-UK-Australia

The 'Arsenal of Democracy' produces 40 percent of the world's weapons. It is a very profitable business model in which other countries buy these weapons to fight each other. The key is maximizing profits without shedding US blood by inducing conflicts between and within countries outside the USA. One client is eager to spend AUD 368 billion to buy a few high-quality used nuclear-powered submarines. This business model's critical components are NATO, QUAD, ANZUS, Five Eyes, AUKUS, and MCC (Mutual Cross-Service Agreement). The US makes the rules, and the US and their friends do not have to follow them. Since WWII, the United States has started 201 wars, overthrew 36 foreign leaders, killed or attempted to kill 50, dropped bombs in 30 countries, and interfered in 86 foreign elections. To make the world safe for democracy, the US has caused the deaths of tens of millions of people in its conflicts in Korea, Vietnam, Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria. The CIA was involved in covert operations that resulted in mass killings of communists in over 22 countries, 500,000 to 2,000,000 Indonesian civilians disappeared in 1965-1966. The US is continuing with its strategy to keep Asia poor and divided. This policy was articulated in the top-secret U.S. Foreign Policy written 76 years ago. February 24, 1948, Declassified U.S. Foreign Policy: Furthermore, we have about 50% of the world’s wealth but only 6.3% of its population. This disparity is particularly great as between ourselves and the peoples of Asia. In this situation, we cannot fail to be the object of envy and resentment. Our real task in the coming period is to devise a pattern of relationships which will permit us to maintain this position of disparity without positive detriment to our national security. ... that Japan and the Philippines will be found to be the corner-stones of such a Pacific security system and that if we can contrive to retain effective control over these areas there can be no serious threat to our security from the East within our time. Taiwan was added to the Pacific security system after Chiang's army retreated to the island of Taiwan in 1949. South Korea was added after the Korean War in 1953. The attempt with Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia was abandoned in 1975. The 1989 attempt in China failed. The 2019-2020 attempt in Hong Kong also failed. US treatment of Asians in the last hundred years: Philippine-American War: 200,000 to 1,000,000 Filipino civilian deaths Korean War: 2-3 million civilian deaths Vietnam War: 2 million civilian deaths Indonesia 1965-66: 500,000 to 2,000,000 civilians disappeared, instigated by the CIA. Anywhere in the world, if there is a border dispute, it is usually the result of a line drawn by an Englishman; if it is an internal dispute, it is usually the US fueling it. Difference in implementation of divide and conquer strategy.

Wow. One of the best talks I've ever heard. Interesting, informative and timely. I like that he doesn't beat around the bush or mince words. He directly addresses the typical, western anti-China narratives and calls them out for the nonsense that they are, and then proceeds to show with examples and facts just exactly why it's not just incorrect nonsense(or lies), but that even the basic premise and logic behind their positions are also illogical nonsense. Awesome.

Upon the surrender of Japan, American useful idiots unloaded ROC on JAPANESE Taiwan 79 years ago. The US tolerates the continued control ROC unlawfully enjoys over Taiwan. However, the US always reminds "its Chinese ON its Taiwan" that they do not enjoy the sovereignty of Taiwan. According to the January 1, 1979, “Taiwan Relations Act”, all ROC passport-holders on Taiwan will remain foreigners ON Taiwan as long as they deem themselves Chinese according to the laws of ROC unlawfully applied on non-Chinese Taiwan. Taiwan only needs to renounce the ROC and its only (kinda) “legitimate" territory, renegade Chinese Kinmen & Mazu Territory (renegade Chinese KMT). Taiwan has always been as foreign to China as the Philippines. Since the Treaty of Shimonoseki, China has no legal claim to Taiwan. If Xi Jing-ping would just dare to inform the laobaixing that he ordered the armed forces under his command to stand down and forget about Taiwan, we could have peace in the region.
