New to me and inspiring. Reminds me of previous worker take-over in Argentina I recall from a 2004 documentary "The Take". I love the green pivot in this example. I hope more follow this lead - although it's tough without key enabling laws for such co-op transitions.

One thing I've noticed is how much proponents of tiny homes have taken over the discussion on providing housing for homeless people. In Seattle, the tiny home advocates won out and an old parking lot near the university was converted into tiny homes for the homeless. This decision was upheld by our city over the proposal to turn that lot into a 5-7 story apartment building for low-income housing. This truly baffles me and other residents. The tiny homes village has been there for over a year now- while the apartment proposal would have provided hundreds of units of housing for struggling families, this set of tiny homes only provides the space for a single layer of residence. Even worse is the fact that each tiny home is separated, meaning more energy used to heat and insulate, worse connectivity to central facilities, and generally subpar protection when we have extreme cold or extreme heat. An additional issue is lack of accessibility and mismanagement by the agencies that run these tiny communities. The fact that the tiny homes solution was chosen by our city officials shows the utter lack of imagination by people who are conditioned to think single-family homes are the only way forward, instead of dense and affordable living.

Thanks you did a great job here! While it is unfortunate that degrowth is so grossly misrepresented, I'm also happy that it is spoken about by people with a big following. Hopefully some of them, unlike Peterson, will feel drawn to actually do a bit of research on the topic.

Capitalism can only grow if it steals resources from other countries and murders it's leaders. That is why capitalism is in trouble, because it can't steal from Russia or China or India. The English Empire for example, killed over a hundred million Indians and stole their resources until they were kicked out.

A lot of people are ignorantly freaking out about earth's population peaking sometime soon. But all it means is that we HAVE to embrace degrowth economics. A well managed population decline will be marvelous for humanity.
