Glasspacks vs Flowmaster - which one do. you prefer?
That is a stunning ‘56 Chevy! Really good video too! Just subscribed. Thanks for posting!
Thank you
@@BigRed_1980 No problem.
I have driven off with my block heater plugged in a few times
😂😎
Which glasspacks are those?
I’m not sure
Old cars and trucks need glasspacks.
My 55 Chevy 327/350 tranny. has cherry bomb glasspacks, and I love the deep, loud tone. Flowmasters sound a bit dead, a bit better when you nail it tho. I'll keep the glasspacks.
Glass packs
Do you have a crossover pipe?
So hard to choose the glassies are nostalgic but flowies are 👌
Flowmaster all the way
I have had mine 29 years.
In my 57 Chevy two door post back in 1968 i would run glasspacks, but I would burn them out before installing them the sound was sooooo much more radical. I would take and dump gas in them before installation and lightem up and letem burn awhile. Until the red paint burnt off then when I put them on. The sound was so much more profound.
Interesting 🤨
Glass packs hands down
Master, should I choose glass packs or Flowmaster, grasshopper which do you seek most power or serenity?
😂
Nice ride!!! Now for the $64 question, which one do you prefer( I think it's obvious)? They both sound good. I don't like either one of them as much as old school Corvair turbo style mufflers. Choice between these two would be the Flowmasters. Glasspacks are too raspy for my old ears. You're comparing the exhausts with two different set ups on the engine, the injected set up sounds stronger. As a side note(you did ask for opinions 😉) the music in the vid is a needless distraction, not to mention sounds terrible and doesn't add anything to the nature of why a gear head would come in here to hear a high performance street Chevy. Great car, and beard!!
Thank you for your thoughts. I like the sound of the glasspacks at WOT but I do not enjoy the idle. Hence, why I switched to flowmasters. I have since stopped putting the background music.
I love the sound of the Flowmasters. But I'm a glass pack guy. Cherry bombs on my '69 Mustang 351 Cleveland!!! Back in '69, I had the opportunity to have impromptu roadside talks with some state employees. Those cherry bombs offered them an opportunity to cite noise rather than speed on several occasions. I think Flowmasters sound a bit deeper which is really good for small blocks.
Glasspack, a low understated rumble...my choice.
Flow master!
Flowmasters are the best sounding muffler in my opinion glass packs suck
With the right cam, pistons, intake and carb.....Flow masters all the way since the 70's! ❤
Ok, I asked my wife which sound she likes better. She did not grow up in that era of hot rods with glass packs so she does not have a biased opinion. She definitely likes the GPs better. 😊
Long tube tuned headers with dual exhaust glasspacks on an old V8 is like music to my ears. I've had Flowmaster 40s before, and at certain RPMs they can start to drone and get on your nerves.
Rev it up baby! Rev it up! Glass packs for the win. I love 1950s cars. Looking to buy one myself.
I think the flowmasters sound better. You can't go wrong with flowmaster for a street cruiser. I do like glass packs on a more rowdy build
Good Ole cherry bombs, and for my money, you can't beat 'em! 👍👍
Flowmasters sound like tinnnnneee s,,,t like the tuner cars tinnnnneee sh,t
Back when I was around 14 I had a friend that lived up the road and his dad gave him his 1974 Chevy k10 short bed and it had the Quadrajet carb and glass packs and every time he left I told him to open it up and I can still remember that sound of that carb and those dual glass packs! I have a 67c10 396 stroker now with flowmasters and I’ve been really considering switching to Glasspacks
I'll never understand why some people like the sound of Flowmasters. Yuck.
Glass packs sound better deeper sound
I love the sound of the flow masters and manifolds it’s got a deep throaty sound and I agree it makes more sense to have the clearances you need when driving. Probably a lot less of a headache too. I wouldn’t change a thing. 👌
Thank you
Cherry Bombs. It's all about the sound, with that distinctive valve pop inherent to any Ford V8. Had a GMC Triple Crown conversion with a 350, would sit outside in the evening drinking beer, just listening to it idle.
Flowmasters (turbo mufflers) sound like a race car. Glasspacks sound like a lawnmower.
will do!
Glasspacks. Straight through design all the way. Flowmasters sound like a popcorn popping
I'll take Flowmasters in my Hot Rods
LOL. I too have a 56 Chevy.... ive had turbos on it for 15 years.... want something .... different..... I was thinking of glasspacks. This helped my decision making. Thanks!.....upadate: I just ordered the glasspacks for mine!!
I’d live to hear them once you get them on😎
You just can't beat that classic sound of glass packs
What’s done to engine? Cam?
@@Nicholas-s1x it’s a 425 hp crate 454 with an RV cam.
I know Flowmasters work a little better Glasspacks scare old woman and babies no better sound
Flowmaster has a better tone... they get a bit louder over time just like a glass pack anyways. Never had rust issues with Flowmaster... ever! ❤
Glass packs all day everyday.
Glass packs sound a little draper 👍😃.
Flowmaster give a true engine exhaust note glass packs do not.
No comparason. Glasspacks!
Flow masters sound pretty good but I've always thought they were best suited for a car from the 1980s or newer. And old school build deserves an old school sound
Glass packs sound better for old school flowmaster for modern sound
Just put a pair of steel packs on it and be done with it. Advise from a 83 year old hot rod enthusiast..
Had flows on my mustang gt have glass packs on my f150 same engine.. truck sounds bad to the bone.
Flow master definitely
I love the classic sound of glass packs. Lots of crack to them
Straight pipes all the way.
😎
