Is that wind or a catfish? Jug fishing for dinner.
Fishing with Walmart stink bait on homemade jugs for catfish. What a great, relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

Up river. That's against the current. It will go faster with no current, or down river. Nice work!
real nice, appreciate all the questions and answers in the comments!
Link?
What is that 13 mph 😂
is this just stage 1? (air filter, exhaust, carb rejet and gov delete)
If you see birds doing the Jesus walk you're in very shallow waters!
Where did you get the mount for that Amazon mud motor?
I'm trying to decide between a jetjon and something like this for running up some shallow rock bottom creeks. Which one would be better?
Personally I'd take a jet Jon on rocks.
Do you have a link for the mud motor? I’m surprised at how fast it is
What's ur top speed and do you still have governor?
Looks kinda upgraded im thinking piston cam all that good stuff
How fast were you goin?
Do y'all eat gar? Where I live people just kill'em and toss them on the bank for coons & hogs
Hell yeah brother
Was that a Pike?
Longnose gar.
@@TheDuke539 aahh . That was my second guess. Awesome catch;sorry you lost it. I've been wanting to go out fishing. Glad you're getting out there and enjoying it
What’s your speed 9mph I’m guessing
17-18, but the engine is modified. With a stock engine you're not far off.
Its been 8yrs.....does the owner scream at everyone
You got room for at least 1 more pair of lights on the bow😂
Hahaha. It does look a little ridiculous, but they work well for frog gigging and okay for bow fishing.
Love this guy, animal lovers are good with me.
🙄
It’s a fish dude
What all does the stage 3 consist of on the predator I was thinking about doing mine since I bypassed the governor
I installed a billet connecting rod and flywheel, flat top piston, 26lb valve springs, ported the stock head, a 275 lift cam, thin head gasket, vm22 carb and exhaust.
@@TheDuke539all that for a 5mph gain?
@@manuelve1998The rod and flywheel are for safety, but yes, $200 in parts gave a 50% boost in top speed. What you don’t see in this video is how much easier the boat gets on plane, or cruising with partial throttle where a stage 1 engine required full throttle to stay on plane.
Hey man, did u have any issues bolting the shaft to the engine?
The output shaft was 1/2” too long on the predator crankshaft. This can be fixed either with spacers or just cutting 1/2” off of the output shaft.
So this is the Amazon clone? What hp is that engine?
Yep, this video has a stock 6 HP Briggs. I’ve since upgraded to a stage 3 predator 212 for more power and speed.
@@TheDuke539 damn right on. Might have to scoop that kit up, it’s not kit with no motor for like 170 bucks right?
Careful now! Don't want that monster to sink the boat! 😂
Bait!
I just bought one of these kits. I have read that you have to drill and tap the 2 blade props to fit but no one ever tells what size bit and tap they used. Could you provide that information?
Tap for the prop is M16x2.0
I don't buy from Amazon anymore
Probably smart
Look at that kill switch dangling there all by its lonesome.
Got me.
@@TheDuke539 I run a 1986 Johnson that doesn’t even have one lol
@@jakeski3142"tonight we die like men" haha.
Do u have a link for the clamps your using too hold the motor up on the boat
I welded a pair of steel c clamps to the included mount and reinforced with square stock.
How wide is theboat
48" on the floor
How long is the boat?
14 feet long
What kind of boat is that?
It's a weldbilt 1448V
Did the predator 212 bolt right up to the kit? Can you drop a link to the kit you used???
There’s a review on Amazon that says it won’t work with a predator motor, but it might be user error🤷 I think it should work
I had to cut 1/2 inch off of the motor shaft on my predator so that it would bolt up.
Like Brent said, the output shaft was 1/2" too long. You can either use a spacer or shorten the shaft. Other than that it bolted right up.

Did you have to drill and tap the props? If so what is the tap size?
Yes, M16x2.0.
Hows the motor holding up? How many hours do you have on it now?
It’s doing fine so far. 6.8 hours on the engine, probably closer to 10 on the kit.

the most ive yet too get,, so far, stage 2 ish' gx200l cone, tried ALLL prop sizes and type, was 19.. The 7" seem too best all around for a mild built clone 200/212. gonna try the PD24 carb next.. then if not, get a ducar 236? or tilly', and mild cam, see if i can get up too like 20 hp.. (I GOT A pd26 CARB, BUT i didn't put it on yet, because i was told it will be nothin but issues, but im gona try it anyway... that thing is moving!! 17mph on a 14ft, heck, like i said im getting 18-19, on a 10 ft.. guess i gotta do some more motor.. and or bigger more buitt 212 vs my 196/200 clone i put parts on.. awesome videos man.. keepm comin.
I agree on the 7" being the best all around size. I gain a couple mph with the 7.5 but it doesn't like pushing the boat at idle speeds. Is be interested in hearing how you like that carb. I'm running a vm22 clone and am happy so far. Thanks! Something like that 236 would rip.
watc, i put twister clone in my decription and some guy like made a uge deal about it.. even though i bougt like 300# in props and parts from them lol... all because it was from amazon even though it is literally exact same thing as"theres" except like 3-2 lill things.. liol
lol some guys just need something to be hurt about.
is that a 3/4" shaft snowblower motor? 13hp? lol i was debating that.. or building the 212/clone// but i built my clone 212 and its pretty good for now..
hows that push vs. the built 212? (IME rpm and prop changes are what these sort tails like..
That was a 6 HP Briggs 205cc(?). It did okay, struggled to get on plane and ran 11-12mph. Nothing like your modified gx200 clone or my 212. Both the intake and exhaust ports were tiny, and no one makes parts to upgrade. Managed to fit a vm22 and free flowing exhaust, but only helped so much.
i did same, except no rod .. i can get 19mph, with 2blade 7" peop// on the "shorttail" and its only on a 10ft.... Im goin for a true longtail, only because they get the propback furter behind the boat wake, and can get more top speed..
Seeing you jet up the river is what made me want this motor. That will be badass, I'm interested to see what you think.
I just bought two of these used from a guy on marketplace. I got a 10ft jon boat and needed an outboard, but I'm broke so i offered the guy $40 and he took it. I've been digging into them for the last month and i did get both running, but I'm not impressed. One very interesting thing is that although these are marketed as a 3.5 or 3.6hp, one of the motors i got has decals that say 2.2hp, which is much more believable. The Chinese companies are just lying to sell more of these. Anyway it and every time i start these something breaks. The pull start alone(which was brand new) has broken in the different ways. It's ridiculous. And yes, these are stupid loud for how small they are, and they vibrate more than any engine I've owned. If i paid $200+ for one I'd be super pissed. Good vid though, i can't wait to get my boat out on Beaver Lake, assuming the AGFC let's me register it. It's from 1964 and doesn't have a HIN. They're supposed to be able to issue those, but the lady on the phone told me i needed the old registration. Pretty sure she's wrong but good luck arguing with govt employees.
Agreed, they're definitely not made to last. Hope you can get everything figured out, and hello from NEA.
@@TheDuke539 I did take my boat out on its maiden voyage. Took my nephews fishing on Beaver Lake. Even with three of us(about 360lbs) and our gear the little motor pushed the boat better than I expected. It got me wondering what kind of performance I could get out of it, and after doing research I found out this engine is a Mitsubishi TL52 clone. They are usually used on string trimmers and tillers in air-cooled form, but interestingly they are also used on some Goped style scooters. And there are performance parts. One guy got his little scooter going 48mph with this engine. So now I know how to get replacement parts, and that there is some performance potential. But one other interesting detail is that it looks like this engine uses a common clutch and 4 bolt pattern, so it might be possible to easily swap a better engine(like a Goped GSR) onto the lower unit
👍
Well how you going to get on
Which mainstream company would you get replacement parts from? Mudskipper? I.E. bushings and props.
Yep, mudskipper parts.
Can you make a quick video showcasing/explaining your custom transom mount, please?
