I can assure you nothing has rusted. Throughout the day the roof can get dirty from soot, priming and dust. Generally the roof is cleaned during lightup.

@@Planetrainguy there is no need for a connection since we have no mainline accredited rollingstock and likely wouldnt be able to justify the costs of bringing anything up to mainline standard

Pulling a freight train

SteamRanger heritage railway has fitted beacon lights to all of their locomotives as a way to make them more visible to motorists and pedestrians at level crossings, as they have had many train v pedestrian or vehicle accidents over the years. If you are interested, I recently uploaded an updated version of this video.

Make sure to visit NRM in port adelaide, especially on a day when im driving steam there

Go on website, download both the engine and dependencies cdp files, open trainz content manager, click file then click import cdp, import the files and then ur done. Once the locos are installed, find them in content manager, if it says missing dependencies, right click them, click view dependencies and then right click any of the "available to download" dependencies. U should be gold to go then.

There are reasons why that cannot be done anymore in South Australia.

Neither Steamranger or NRM have a rail connection or accreditation to run on the Adelaide Metro network.

The main rod transfers the thrust from the piston to the wheels, while the rest of the motion (in this case modified hackworth valve gear) determines the valve events depending on how the cutoff/reverser is hooked up. The driving wheels are connected via connecting rods.
