I feel so bad for all his followers. They had come to him, most of them shimmer addicts or in some other way broken, hoping that they would find help, real help in a world that had rejected them fully. But instead their minds were invaded as they were forced into a quasi-hivemind, before their last remnants of humanity were stripped from them when Viktor decided it was time to reach Glorious Evolution. They had only wanted to feel freedom from the pains of bodies and societies that had failed them, and instead they were stripped of every part of themselves, until only shallow husks remained.
This is to me, unironically the hardest musical segment in both seasons, only beaten by the Light it Up and Ill find You scene, but thats hardly a musical segment
1:38 Oh my god their mom is doing the same rabbit ears gesture with her fingers that Powder used to do in her fight with Ekko on the bridge in season 1
How can the show act as if this wasn't a big deal ??? The grey is a chemical weapon that can melt your lungs, anyone who participated in using the grey on a populated area should be sent to jail, that's a war crime !!! If the writers wanted Cait to have a corruption-redemption arc maybe, to make it work, don't make her start her corruption by committing war crimes, that's the point of no return from which there's no redemption possible !! Using the grey should've come much later and it should've been a wake up call that made her realise what she was about to do because of her grief before she does it, and not use it. That's when she could've started her redemption arc... It feels as if the writers didn't know if they wanted to make her an authoritarian tyrant or give her a corruption redemption arc and end up making a half arsed arc where she's both. But it doesn't work since committing a coup, becoming a militaristic leader, having responsibility in Zaun's oppression and using chemical weapons is not something you can get redemption for !!! Man they murdered her development of season 1 by not deciding on which leg to stand on in season 2 it's so frustrating and wasted narrative potential...
I find it odd that nobody ever says Silco was a tyrant for spreading Shimmer all across, which undeniably has even more negative side effects than Cait's usage of Grey. It lead to what's going on in the fissures, insane rise of poverty and disability, it is a chemical weapon and produced with childlabour. Everybody sees redeemable qualities in this guy, despite his motivation being desire for power. But Caitlyn is the worst of the worst. Cait whoonly targeted the chem barons and their shimmer factories along with their gang members and Jinx. Obviously using the Grey is far from right, the chemicals would still spread. But people think she went on gassing every single street of Zaun, when thatbis not at all the case. You have this video explicitly showing that: one historical photograph showcasing civilians running from the Grey, switching to a member of each chem baron gang running from the Grey. This song adresses that usage of Grey is a severe moral misstep nevertheless. And who decides who gets a chance to do better. When are you too far gone from redemption. What else can one do, but realise their mistakes, correct their behavior? She releases Jinx who was her reason for her moral failures. She also gives the Kiramman seat to a Zaunite. What else is the solution here? Every single person in power has the capacity to do evil if the right buttons get pushed and Cait removed that button. And are we gonna forget that this was a decision of the entire council as well? Those who have succumbed to moral failing but realised their errors and put an end to it based on that realisation can be trusted more than those who were never tempted. They have truly shown strength and responsibility, at least that's my opinion. What Cait has done will always be immoral and nothing can undo that crime. But there is not a single case where you undo our past actions. What's left but to learn from them?
If only Viktor listened to Singed by adapting to nature instead of by superseding it. Also i feel that when WW blood gets transfused to Viktor that he should have transformed into the games design and escaped but the transfusion would have been enough to resurrect and evolve Viktor anyway
Oh my god…I just realized it. That roar wasn’t just Viktor sharing emotions with Vander, but also his own remaining humanity raging against being snuffed out. It’s like it was trying to fight back before being erased. That is crazy beautiful….
I love how Sky's "No. You won't." can be read multiple ways. 1.) Viktor is giving up more of himself to the machine, growing more detached from human feelings. 2.) There's a theory that Viktor was projecting the best of his relationship with Jayce onto this version of Sky. In which case it's Jayce he misses, not her. 3.) Sky is referring to the fact he never bothered to know her when she was alive. This Sky is only an echo, or a manifestation of his guilt, or a trick of the Arcane, or Something. This isn't a friendship, it's something artificial that was made to make Viktor feel better and is no longer needed. 4.) More interpretations I can't think of rn.
i think it's a mix of all. One writer claimed that it was the hexcore using sky as a means of using Viktor's guilt/humanity, while another talked about how Sky also represented Viktor's longing for his old relationship with Jayce. Either way, the 'no you won't' is so fitting because Viktor never truly knew Sky, because this is not Sky. Viktor is simply detaching himself from his guilt and emotions.
It's a mistake to bring Vi in the team. Clearly she is not mentally capable of handling such mission. It's the assassination of your sister, of course no one will be stable.
That scene was my greatest cry of last decade, that changed the brain chemistry. Masterpiece!
No wonder both Vi and Jinx are strong and fierce. They're the daughter of Putin
The doom vibe with the femal electronic vibes describing the grey !* RIP AND TEAR CAIT
Vander straight up died 6 times
no, you wont
You’d think after arcane was over, The people of undercity would’ve wanted Caitlyn head on a plate for this
I still can't forgive jayce
The way the last remnants of his humanity are represented by blurry vignettes of his loved ones im gonna die
the soundtrack made this really good
so much for that
Gotta love some good old chemical warfare.
It’s funny that singed knew who Viktor was and standed for all the time as not for one second he thought of bringing his daughter to Viktor
Kiramman's sophisticated, low-recording-quality voice goes crazy hard as an intro. I want to hear more songs that do that.
This song would go so hard if the scene wasnt police brutalizing people and doing what is essentially a war crime.
They fucking dangled Vander’s recovery in front of us like a carrot and snatched it away at the very end. For that I will never forgive Riot Games.
Fuck the police coming straight from the underground 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
Police brutality goes brrrrr
my fav ost from season 2
I love how the soft voice of the artist matches Viktor's fragility. I love Viktor, his character development is devastatingly beautiful

THIS IS THE MOST BADASS OPENING, 2ND IS EKKO'S FROM SEASON 1
Ooh yeah he mad i'm racking up white diamonds
wasian british hitler
Whoever made this scene must've binged Darktide for abit
Omg, the silent screams of the dead acolytes, heart-wrenching...
That white beret makes her look so badass.
1:38 Oh my god their mom is doing the same rabbit ears gesture with her fingers that Powder used to do in her fight with Ekko on the bridge in season 1

Agreed! Season 2 was so disappointing

I love how Sky is still so loyal to Victor
This show really is just peak in every way possible
What did i just watch this a masterpiece
the diagram graphics and audio reminds me of amnesia - a machine for pigs
It's like League of Legends meets Warhammer: Darktide
This scene altogether with music always has me in tears 😢
Sees the ending of the show..... If only Viktor listened to Singed by adapting to nature instead of superseding it.

They established that it would destroy and kill any part of vander and game ww still has vander inside
Потрясающий момент, я аж всплакнула, когда впервые смотрела апхпхпп
CAN SPOTIFY RELEASE THIS VERSION TOO? IT'S SO CALMING
this scene had me fucking sick
Love how in the final they use a weaponised version of the grey as a cover for the bomb on viks' shell
I'm not cryin
Sky's last words sound are far more disturbing now that the creators confirmed she was the Hexcore manipulating Viktor.

the close up of vander screaming before he truly dies was so beautifully made. poor Vander man.
“No… you won’t” Of course he won’t miss them… not when he’s throwing away his emotions and humanity
Anyone notice that vander was twisted but when he see isha as powder his memory become clear so viktor can reach it 😢
JAYCE YOU MESSED EVERYTHING UP GRRRRRRRRRRRR

I think Sky just represents Viktors humanity
the voice actor said he had to let sky go to let jayce back in

She called his ass bitch ass out, hes over here acting like a savior knowing he is getting rid of what makes humans humans like tf?
