Okay so let me understand this. Planning to do Icon of the Seas next summer with a friend for our 40th bdays next year. This will be my first cruise. So if I get the package I think we only need it for 3 devices so our phones and I got a ipad. So that means I am paying 16.99 a day I think it is from what I saw so 7 day cruise so 118 for the net. But the devices does it mean 3 at a time or only 3 set in stone. What if I disconnect one and want to lets say connect to my Kindle to buy a book can I do that?

RCCL does not have public washers and dryers. I believe she means that you can have laundry done for a charge while sailing.

We did the reverse in June after getting off the Royal Clipper. Was very easy to do. Will be doing Odyssey OTS in November for the transalantic. There is no lobster night on most of the big cruise lines in Europe. Lobsters are a North American thing not found over there. They have langostino over there, which is similar to lobster but smaller and more expensive. Europeans just have a different way of doing things as it pertains to dinning.

Do you self guide or go through the cruise line for excursions / tours?

I had the Key for Navigator in April and would definitely do it again. First it is carry on luggage that you can take to the MDR, not your luggage. The special lunch was great. I had an incredible steak and all the rest. My wife had the fish. Great deal. I bought it on sale and it was on sale. The early tender pass was great. And at the end, my luggage was up in the Key area right at customs. Saved time and trouble. I'll buy it again.

The cabanas are very cool. I was in one before the big upgrades to Coco Cay and they were much simpler and you had to walk 40 feet to a bar versus delivery "Oh the suffering!" ;) On the upside back in the middle 2015ish years, we got one (of course not this nice) for about $350! Oh how times have changed. I do think that most people who could swing this now would probably have the drink package, but yes - I do think it's mercurial of them to not include anything (drink wise) at those prices. I just booked a cruise for October and I did direct, but it took a few hours! I just keep going back and forth until something decent comes up because what comes up is basically different every time. And I travel SOLO so it can be very tricky, but I was happy with what I ended up getting.

I am a bit concerned about the demographic of customers this will draw given a lower price point. Hopefully it won't turn into a Carnival type atmosphere. I am going on Labor Day weekend and will find out.

Just to confirm what you said, they allow you to bring one bottle per adult in your carry-on? Is this for all Royal Caribbean ships, such as freedom of the sea?

We're doing Rome on the way back from the Cruise. We're planning to take the train from the port to our Hotel in Rome CC. One thing I'm worried about is luggage theft. Did y'all have a lot of luggage? Did you store it or keep it with you? If stored, did you feel it was secure?

I want to try Beach Club but for my cruise next year it hasn't gone below $155 in price. So far I have Hideaway booked for $33

If there’s not a ton of price difference, we go for an Ocean view, but I agree with all your reasons. We have an interior 14 day and an interior seven day booked right now. A balcony on the seven day would be as much as all 21 days in an interior.

This is bad advise. If you can book direct with the cruise, then do so. If you book direct with the cruise your booking is more secure than going through a travel against. If anything goes wrong, I would prefer to go direct to the source and not go through a third party like a travel agent. I have always booked directly with the cruise ship and have never had problems even after a cancellation.

Does this work for people who are not related to each other?

It USED to be worth it when prices were somewhat humane. We have enjoyed the club many times but the price just does not justify what you get - a steak and lobster, and some sides. The over water cabanas are really nice but they want $2438 that we had previously paid $799 to around $1500. The day pass is now $138 per person - when they first opened it was $54 and we had a great time. The bottom line is that they will keep racking up the prices as long as people will pay - We just can't justify any longer.

Always print and take extra copies. Came in handy one time when we had to check-in some extra unexpected last-minute bags. Long story.

I have bought and use these luggage tag holders, fabulous, I use on every cruise, fantastic product, a few dollars well spent.

I go "all in" on my cruise luggage tags. I cut them (they way you initially showed - nice and thin), fold them in half, and then use a hot laminator with bookmark size pouches to laminate them. I then use a special slot hole punch to create a nice slot through which I slip a flexible plastic loop. Once attached to our bags they are then on to stay! And they are weatherproof. I've seen the nice, thick, folded, unprotected paper tags wither in a Miami pop-up rain shower at the pier. Once they are soaked and soggy there's a really good chance that they're coming off your bags. Some may consider my method overkill, but we've never lost a bag in roughly 50 cruises...

Making a loop like you did will make it more likely to catch or snag something and tear off. Instead, you should fold it in half lengthwise and staple it twice, in the places indicated, after inserting over the bag handle.

The last version is upside down. The paper should have been reversed when placed in the plastic bag thingy. Porters are going go crazy turning it right side up in order to read it.

try packing tape and not staples. makes sure your tag will not come off.

I bought sleeves for Royal Caribbean but found them a little difficult to slide the tag into them. I then bought sleeves for Carnival tags, among the largest tags, and they are much easier to load. I then made custom inserts for the original purchase/Royal Caribbean tag sleeves to help identify my bags at the airport. Much better than other ID tags 😃!

We're sailing on Icon of the Seas July 2024. With the size of the ship and the amount of passengers that are going to be on board. The Key seems to be a good idea for us.

I've tried both, Had some good and bad with both. I love cruising and wanted to maybe sell or be involved someway in cruising when I retired. Well then Covid. I'm now retired and hope to cruise more . Thanks
