Mas Chanclas Adventures

Приєднався 1 чер 2020
Hey there and welcome to Mas Chanclas Adventures with Dave.
I am Dave and will be your guide to the videos I will be making on my spare time.
My plan is to do some videos on my Salt Water fishing adventures, as well as other stuff.
Most of the videos will be about how, when and where I do my fishing.
I mostly fish the South Texas area, like Corpus Christi....but I will be covering alot of the surrounding areas...Aransas Pass...Port Aransas...Rockport/Fulton...South Padre Island....Padre Island National Seashore (PINS)...Bird Island Basin....Baffin Bay.....ect.
I am an avid Surf Fisherman but I recently got a kayak 2020 Perception Outlaw 11.5, so there will be plenty of videos on it.
I also like to do some woodworking....mostly outdoor furniture. It helps pay for my bad fishing habit.
I hope you enjoy my videos and that they may give you some tips and ideas.
And if it does.....please leave some comments and subscribe.
Thanks,
Dave ~

Outlaw 11.5 Kayak Lighthouse Lake Trial Run June 2020
Переглядів 3,4 тис.4 роки тому
Hey guys.....here's a video I did a few weeks ago. This was the first time I took the Yak out to the coast. Didn't really do any serious fishing....just wanted to test her out in the bay. And she handled it very well. I was not able to finish recording as the battery went dead on me. But I do plan to do another one real soon....and also give you my thoughts on the new mods as well....along with...
DIY - Garage Rod Holder Stand Project
Переглядів 3,3 тис.4 роки тому
This holiday weekend I decided to do a DIY project. I needed a rod holder stand for my fishing rods...as I didn't want to keep them on the floor moving all over the place. Took a total of about 2 hours to build and paint. You will see the list of materials and cuts I used on the project. So I hope you like it....and if so..."COMMENT"...."LIKE"...and "SUBSCRIBE". Nice
Thank you!!
Thank you so much!
Thanks for the video, how big is the roof rack?
You are the only one that has this type of build on here and I found it after I was done. I am an idiot in front of a camera, so I wont make one. I would like to say, thank you for making the video. All I have left to do is buy my tires, I already have some Jeep wheels to use.
Thanks for the comment. I have done more to the trailer in the past few months and will be putting another video on.
Great help, Thx
I just bought my lowes trailer im going to probably hav excact same setup like you but top will be bike maybe lower thnks for the video.😊can you lift suspension higher ?
I would suggest just to get bigger tires....15's maybe. But you will have to take off the fenders. That's after you flip the axle. It comes with 12"s and I put 14's and it looks good. I didn't want to put 15's just yet. You can also put bigger, better leaf springs to raise it higher. But then you will be spending alot more money. Just my opinion.
@@MasChanclasAdventures you think i can get away with my 17" with 275 ? Even flip axle over what the height of that mount bracket you purchase ! I see they have one for 24" or 27"
@@dreys555garage I don't think so with the axle it has now. The tire will be too wide and will be hitting the cage. Unless you get some wheel spacers. Or another longer axle. They do sell both on Amazon.
@@MasChanclasAdventures im willing to add 1-2" spacer same as my rig but im trying to do flip axle late today and also add space block 2" what do you think
@@dreys555garage ...I think that should work. But I still think it will hit the fender. I am interested to see if it works.
I just picked up a 22 yesterday and this was very annoying. So thankful for this video!
Great video....thank you for taking time and making it!. And hello from a fellow toyota owner and texan. I live in corpus
Thanks....I will making another video soon with some other stuff I did to it. I lived in Flour Bluff for about 5 yrs but moved back to SA. Still fish PINS all the time...my favorite place.
How is it holding up? And where in south Texas are you? I’m in the Rio grande valley
It has lasted pretty good. I did redo it after a year just to make it shine more but it probably didn't need it. I am in San Antonio.
What about dropping your rack to the second level and putting a fold out tent on the top rack? Maybe a side mount for the kayak? Tent folds out to one side and you can fold your awning out to the other side
I really don't plan to put a fold out tent anytime soon. I have a cot tent that works for me now. But when and if I do plan to.....I will probably do that.
Poop
This is awesome!!!! I’ve always hated that feature. I can’t see the radios at all when my lights are on and it is not completely dark out. I had no idea there was a fix. THANK YOU. 😊
Thank you. Struggled with the manual and like you couldn't figure why I was missing the screen as shown in the manual. Good ole UA-cam, now onto watching some brain surgery videos. Wish me luck! Logging videos didn't go as well as expected. Thank goodness for homeowners' insurance, Geico denied the claim at 1st. Guess I didn't gauge the lean of the tree correctly. Did find out where the spotted owl was nesting.
Dude! Can't thank you enough. It was driving me crazy. I like having my lights on during the day for safety and the screen dimming was driving my crazy. Thanks for posting.
This looks like a great start. thanks for putting this together.
Is there Toy hot line. Mine Has bother me for Long time .. Thank you Sir
Bless you! I had this problem today and you solved it. THANK YOU!!
I have a Question, if ANYONE can Help. I have a small trailer I kind Built years ago. I had switched my Axle to a Heavier Axle, But it was used and Now I want to make this trailer a Bit Longer and Stronger for road trips. SO THE QUESTION? I want to Switch from 14inch Hubs to 15s. How do I figure out which ones I Need for my Axle? And MAN I wish MY TRAILER Look as good as yours NICE BUILD! Inspired me to REDO MY OWN! Now I NEED HELP! LMAO!!! Great ONE!!
What kind of L brackets did you order.....do you have a link?
This is what I used. They are heavy duty and strong. I had to drill a couple of holes but that's it. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09PL4P9W6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks bro
I had the same problem ever since I started throwing my state parks pass on the right side of the dash. It was driving me nuts like everyone else. Problem solved!! Thanks a bunch!
where you get that crate for tackle cases in it?
I got mine on Amazon a few years ago.... www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GC7MDMV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
Hey there! Any chance you had issues with the axle flip? I hear the axle can’t just be rotated as it messes with the tire wear.
I have not had any issue whatsoever. Tires are still looking good. No wearing out. it was really easy to do. Tho, I do plan to change the axle to something a little longer cause I want to put bigger tires. The ones I have now are trailer size 14". If I want to go bigger...I will have to remover the fender and get a bigger axle. Not sure yet. It's working great now so.....
@@MasChanclasAdventures awesome! This video definitely made me purchase a trailer today haha. I am going to do what you did only put my rooftop tent on top of the bed rack! I only have a Jeep TJ so I needed something small!
The lights are not what makes the Day Mode pop up in the settings. If you want the Day Mode Setting to pop up in the display section take a rag or a shirt and cover up the daylight sensor on the dash on the right. Once the screen dims it will bring the option up.
Awesome build. It gave me some good ideas for my build.
you're welcome....I will be taking down the racks I have on it and doing something different wit uni-struts. May make a video about it.
awesome job, thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching...
I was always wondering how the heck to do that, thanks!
You should've added the rods 😁😁😁
Ey good content man
Mas chanclas4Life
Ey where do you live? I'm in satx
I am out by the Seaworld area...
@MasChanclasAdventures awesome man We're out at potranco & 1604 area Going fishing on my birthday week for the full week 😁😁😁
What size tires is on it
It came with 12" trailer tires....I removed them and put 14" trailer tires from Northern Tools. They had them special. I wanted to put 15" but they would not have fit with the fenders. I would have had to cut them off and I don't want to do that right now. Might in the future tho.....
Thank you so much.
You're welcome....
How do you carry the kayak? Nice trailer though it looks great
I would put some of those pool tubes on the top cage and put the yak there. I just strapped it down. I could have used some kayak traveling racks but this worked out just fine.
@@MasChanclasAdventures how big is the kayak?
It was an 11.5 Outlaw. So it weighed a ittle but was very stable. Don't have it anymore tho.@@BeardedMattOutdoors
thanks for that! helped me out.
No problem......Thanks for watching.
IM thinking about doing something very similar to this. How has it held up? Work good at the beach? Any isssues?
I do alot of fishing at Padre Island National Seashore in Corpus and it has held up very well. The only thing I did extra was buy those sand bags for canopies to hold it down better...as the small spikes it comes with doesn't hold well in the sand. I got them on Amazon for like $10 or so. That's about it.
@@MasChanclasAdventures thanks....its been a while since ive been down there. I used to do some Land Based Shark fishing down there. Made a few trips a year for about 5 years. Been too busy to get back down there, but that would be a great option for a shelter if it holds up to the wind. Any issues pulling the trailer along pins? Do you air down? sorry for all the questions, but trying to get back into the shark/surf fishing, and gearing up to do it better/easier if possible.
@@rbljackson No....I don't air down. Never needed to. I drive a Tacoma OffRoad and it does great out there. And no issues pulling the trailer as well. I just take it easy since there are alot of humps and dips. I always try to face the canopy away from the blowing wind. That helps as well...cause it can get pretty windy. I don't do any shark fishing....I don't have the gear for it...I just fish for everything else.
Very helpful. Thank you.
Hi there I accidentally got some of that on some areas in the car any idea how to remove it ?
Sorry....don't know how to remove it.
Great build. You gave me some ideas for mine. Thanks.
Thanks just got the truck, fixed the problem!!
Thanks 🙏
Hey buddy, don’t paint the bottoms I painted for years just like you don’t paint the inside of a cellar. Doors of the wood can breathe and it dries out when it gets wet. Don’t paint the bottoms nobody can see it anyway.
Thanks for the advice.....
I like my dash and my nav screen as bright as I can get them, I like to see the button I'm pushing. I had a 2021 Tacoma Limited and had no issues with these settings, I now have the 2023 Tacoma Limited and it does not matter if I turn the button on or off that he's showing in the video the nav screen still goes bright to dark back to bright, etc... all the way down the road.
That might be something you need to do on the NAV app....day time VS nigh time switch....maybe.
I've tried this several times in my 2023 Tacoma and I just do not have that daytime mode button.
I got a new 2023 Off Road last May and it worked on it as well. Not sure why it isn't on yours. Sorry to hear.
I did find the button and turned it on but my nav screen continues to dim and brighten as I'm driving down the road.@@MasChanclasAdventures
that might be the "NIGHT / DAY TIME" mode on the navigation. I don't have navigation on the truck but I use my phone...either MAPS or WAZE and I set mine to automatic.
I'm trying to find a similar trailor right now. Looks like they discontinued the 3.5x5 and supposedly replaced it with a 4x5.
I have seen a few at a couple of Lowe's here in San Antonio the past couple of weeks. I do know that the Lowe's wedsite doesn't show them in stock but they have them on their lot. The exact ones I bought.
Why don't you cut your cross bars at a half inch wider than your rack then install the "L" bracket under the rack instead of having an eye gouger sticking out into your living space?
I thought about that. I have hit my head a few times. The truck rack I bought was shorter than the standard ones...got them used. So I am thinking I am just gonna get new ones which are taller. I didn't want to cut the cross bars cause they were new.
Thank you !!! I was getting frustrated as well because I couldn't see my screen. Thank you so much for sharing this 👍👍
No problem and you're welcome.
That is one nice trailer, love it.
Great info just way to long of senseless chatter before you got to the actual point.
