This is WHY You HATE People: Sartre' NO EXIT
Jean-Paul Sartre’s line, “Hell is other people,” originates from his play No Exit, where three characters are condemned to spend eternity together in a single room. Surprisingly, their torment isn’t physical but psychological, stemming from their interactions and constant judgment of one another.
Sartre’s existential philosophy underpins this idea. He argued that humans are “condemned to be free,” bearing full responsibility for their choices. This freedom often leads to discomfort, as we seek validation from others rather than embracing self-authenticity. In No Exit, the characters reflect each other’s insecurities and guilt, becoming both judges and mirrors.
The phrase doesn’t mean that people are inherently unbearable but highlights the anguish of being seen and judged. It reveals how dependence on others for identity traps us, creating a personal form of hell.

As per tolostoy himself, he agreed that science has concluded that there is no purpose of life which is the title of this video..what ppl and part of this video has mixed is connecting "happiness " with " purpose of life"..but these are 2 different topic. Happiness is state of emotion..simply meaning if you have nothing to worry, you are happy..or if you problems/issues that means you are not happy..and my suggestion is ppl should try to find how to remove problems so they can be more happy..this is not optimistic answer, but this is what keeps me going...

Like many things if one misses the mark by a millimeter they may as well missed it by a mile. Tolstoy did not hit the mark but his competent attempt is important. Religion as a concept comes close but still misses the mark. The narrator starts out with "why" are we here? What is "our" (human beings) purpose. Note he does not ask "how" we got here and for now that's fine. Why are we here? The best starting answer is from Walt Whitman in his poem "O Me! O Life!". Whitman concludes how he got here is irrelevant but that he IS here and thus has relevance and agency and now he (like all of us) contributes our unending "verse" into the poetic fabric of being, by our actions and thoughts. But that is not all of it. What is this "verse" we contribute? What should it be? That answer is really even easier. Like fish swim and birds fly, the thing humans do (and have done) so naturally is to "know". We are the beings of knowledge. We (and all self aware, thinking, introspective and reflective beings of the universe) present as the "cerebral cortex" of existence. It is our job to "know" and refine the knowledge more accurately as time moves on. Baruch Spinoza answered that one best. He saw God and all of nature as one in the same. If you wanted to know "God" then know nature, including ourselves. We are the beings that bring understanding to the universe. That is our job and WHY we are here and will give us the greatest fulfillment. Tolstoy in his attempt to reason our existence was actually doing what he is supposed to be doing. Attempting to bring knowledge to a question of humanity. Hitting the mark with the answer is the goal but also even if he missed the mark, getting us as a species, a bit closer to it is still fulfilling the job. The irony is that all the while he was pondering with good clarity, why we are here, he was actually performing the "why" but was unaware of it. Understanding this about ourselves, about yourself will bring you to a new level of self awareness. Much like the first humans who first saw their reflection (likely in a pond or lake) and at some point (but not right away) realized, "hey that is me", so is this level of understanding.

Reasoning. Finding a reason for everything. Extreme intellectualism will keep one searching, in one's head. not understanding everything and the reason for it can make these types suffer extremely. intellect and linear genius is exalted in many societies. Monetary wealth, marriage, and children exemplifies the ultimate status and social acceptance to the point of a celebrity or Royal status. it seems he achieved these things but his soul or spirit or whatever it is - called him it seemed like and wouldn't let go. or he couldn't let it go. I've heard some spiritual teachings speaking about overcoming the intellect and reason is one of the hardest things to do, but is the ultimate task to reach humility, surrender and ultimately peace with oneself for some. Attempting to understand and judge all external affairs outside of one's control, will lead to Great suffering and being lost, traveling to seek the answer. this is what I got from this video. it was a great story and resonated with me. thank you for the upload. it seems like this man had everything in some people's eyes -he had it "all" which wasn't the answer for him and he put in the efforts to find what he was actually looking for which was peace which made him an altruistic and amazing person. I hope to become like him. what a journey!

The parable is nothing but a symbolism of our existence, the dark deep well is nothing but death, anyhow the man/human beings and everything is fated to die or decay but the honey symbolises happiness and the branch symbolises the present moments and it's value, you don't worry about tomorrow's death, just experience your present moments heart fully.

My view is that we currently do not have the tools/language/capacity to "understand" the meaning of life. However you can create your own meaning. If you accept that everybody "suffers" in life (Buddhists have this concept), then if you help people, you reduce their suffering. So, even though you do not understand the meaning of life you give it your own meaning. Tolstoy changed his life in his later years to help and be kind to people. It would have been nice to have had chat with him😊 Neil

Niccolo Machchiavelli the crooked Italian royal advisor of 14th Century AD was like reincarnation of Indian kingmaker high priest during 4th Century BC Acharya Vishnugupt Chankyaji (the Brahmin who saved India from the invasion of King Alexander the Great and the Guru who founded the Mauryan empire right from scratch).Machchiavelli's crooked philosophies are eerily similar to Acharya Chanakya's 4 point treachery mantra of "Saam Daam Dand Bhed" which translates to negotiation, pricing, punishment and discrimination (thereby Chanakya was nicknamed 'Kautilya' meaning trickster).

The ONLY ONE who can tell us the purpose of our existence is our creator. Allah told us in His last message to humanity that on Judgment Day He will take witnesses from among us to invalidate any argument against His judgment, the day when He will gather His creation from all dimentions and throw whoever disobeyed Him and wanted to ruin His creation in Hell along with their followers. Of course Muslim scholars cannot tell you that because they're criminals and thieves who don't follow Quran. The Quran stands against all the crimes and myths they follow and will ruin their business

The pursuit of power, in it of itself, must be considered evil because it implies the pursuit of superiority; that’s antithetical to our primal instincts to survive as a species - as a collective. Our ability to value each other’s life as inherently equal, since we all came from the same spliced cell, is crucial and foundational to understanding our nature, and should be the basis for resolving any conflict.

We could understand better "why are we here" if we understood "what happens next" After everyone dies and the term of this world has ended, everyone will be given their lives back by the One who gave them their lives in this world, and everyone will be judged on what they do in this world by the One who determined their existence in this world. This temporary life is a test. Like exams that we take in school, this "life test" has a "times up" and the "times up" is when we die. And Allah created the heavens and earth in truth and so that every soul may be recompensed for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged. (Al-Quran 45: 22) And they say, "There is not but our worldly life; we die and live, and nothing destroys us except time." And they have of that no knowledge; they are only assuming. (Al-Quran 45: 24) Say, " Allah causes you to live, then causes you to die; then He will assemble you for the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt, but most of the people do not know." (Al-Quran 45: 26)
