all of her studio live sessions from flag radio 2021-2023
ichiko aoba has hosted a radio show for a couple years now, broadcast every wednesday (on odd numbered months) on 89.4 fm in kyoto. ive never tuned in, because its difficult (though not impossible!) for people outside of japan to listen, but back in march i came across her cover of Country Roads she played live on air. that's how i found out she sometimes performs a couple songs on flag radio from time to time. at the time, i decided not to bother compiling them, since i thought there werent very many archived, and i was fatigued from putting together the piano compilation.
a couple weeks ago, instead of studying for my finals, i started looking into what shes performed and how many of the shows were recorded and public. im pleased to report that i was able to find archives of every* live-in-studio song shes played on flag radio (albeit some in worse quality than others). this was only possible because of the handful of dedicated fans who recorded so many of these shows, a couple of whom sent some to me personally. thank you all so so so much.

the highlights include: the Country Roads cover of course (placed at the beginning because its my favorite and also funnily enough the highest quality rip), 2 different versions of space orphans from before it was officially released, duets with manami kakudo and yuta orisaka, plenty of rarities and one-offs, luminescent creatures played on kalimba, terifuriame recorded in a tunnel, and a fishmans cover on guitar!!!
* i currently have no recording for 2022-03-16, however a setlist i found for it says that she played space orphans live that day, which was the same day she uploaded a demo recording of it on her youtube channel. i'm just going to assume that these are the same recordings until that show is found. if you have it, hit me up!!!! also missing a full recording of 2022-01-05, however most of it has been uploaded on youtube in the form of excerpts.

i knew she had good taste in music before, but skimming through all ichiko aoba flag radio shows has really, really put me on to some amazing artists. i highly recommend checking out her mixes in full, and luckily, with that spreadsheet, you can find links to dozens of them!!!! i uploaded most of the ones that werent on archive onto there, so, go wild, i guess
a rendition of hoshi no present and a live recording of akatombo weren't included in the youtube upload because they're already elsewhere in the comp and they werent especially different
i dont have any future projects in mind really, aside from maybe re-mastering the choe bootleg (and by that i do mean just re-ripping everything, i've learned alot since 2021). ill do it whenever i need to procrastinate on college work again.
by the way, for whoever adds these bootlegs to rateyourmusic, make sure you tag this as live sessions, not live (i think these count as live sessions, at least)
