      @asmartbajan 8 місяців тому

      @@cookingwithpatbest2603 What @maxinedottin1956 doesn't know is that milk (and eggs, which you didn't use in this recipe) help make conkies mellow, so they don't feel dry while being swallowed. Using less sweet potato and substituting the shortfall with more pumpkin also helps with that. The first time I made conkies (3 years ago) I used fine corn meal. This year was the first time since then that I made more conkies, and I used fine corn meal again (the exact one shown in your video). According to my info, the only difference between corn meal and corn flour is that the grains of the latter are finer than those of the former. However, since you said in the video that corn flour tastes much better, I'm going to use that instead of corn meal the next time I make conkies. Here's another tip: add a bit of shortening to the butter and avoid stirring the batter any more than necessary.

    • @cookingwithpatbest2603
      @cookingwithpatbest2603 8 місяців тому

      Thanks for your response. You will not regret using the corn flour and yes these were indeed absolutely mellow. My granny never used egg and she is my hero, so I never will. 😊👍🏽

    Leviticus 11:7 “And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.” King James Version (KJV) Wow the pig is EXTREMELY NASTY it is the sh*t cleaner on the earth. There are many people who believe in the Bible, but because their colonial rulers taught you "CHRISTIANITY" a word not found in the Bible, you believe you can eat an UNCLEAN food that GOD forbids you to eat WOW... I just vomited a little watching that ABOMINATION.. You all need to wake the hell up and STOP eating this WICKEDNESS.. Leviticus 11:46-47 46,This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth: 47,To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten. Shame on you for even tolerating the sight, so much so that one could take the time to write with such passion and distain! 2 Timothy 2:16 But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness, So yes, go hither my child and leave others to do as they please because you are not judge and jury!!! 🤦🏽‍♀️ And no, I do not respond twice! Goodbye 👋🏽

    Let’s cook authentic, where are you putting Italian seasoning, NAH, flour - nah, let’s be authentic,. Where are you from. Whe I go bac to Barbados and I go out to eat and the restaurant try to dress the food up, I get very upset, there is no place for Italian season in Bajan pudding

    • @cookingwithpatbest2603

      It’s not about dressing up what I cook. My mother, aunt and gran are bajan women who I grew up watching and if it’s good/was good enough for my mum and for my gran and aunt who are no longer here then it’s good enough for me 👍🏽 I like it and hopefully others will try and judge for themselves. We are all individuals and that’s important.
