This is where you need to get smart with "linked views" and "filters". 1. Create a separate page for your class. 2. Go to your lessons list or lesson calendar, click the dots at the top left and click "copy linked view". 3. Go back to your class page and copy the linked view of your lesson planner. 4. Create a new lesson property for "Class". 5. In your linked lesson view, you can now filter lessons just for this specific class. Also check out my class manager. Actually I have 6 classes with a total of over 120+ students. Still works great! Last names can be included. I usually do. For this example I just keep the first name for simplicity.

Also will be great if you can combine the best of the old template design (like the dashboard) and the new feature like invoice and just have one new updated template with an accompanying video ? It's very confusing which one to use after buying 😒

Yeah Notion definitely has its own form of navigation that takes getting used to! Once you find your own way I'm sure it will feel more intuitive.

Sorry for the late reply Kavi! I received your email. The Teacher Planner is more for classroom teaching and managing a large number of students. Private Tutor dashboard if for planning lessons for individual students or small groups, along with invoicing.

Personally I don't prefer dark mode. From what I can see people are 50/50 on light or dark mode. Just a personal preference.

Yeah great idea! That would actually be really easy to do. Just add another property for date and then set an automation that completes the date property whenever the status has been changed.

Yes this is built to manage single-student classes and multiple students at once. No none of it is student facing. Just a planner for the teacher.

Hmm that's strange. Are all the databases set to view only? This includes the student database, grades, and grade topics. If the scores are not showing then the database for those scores has the wrong permission settings.

Oh this hagwon campus I work at has a few thousand students, I just personally teach 150. That's not many compared to other teachers. I teach the private classes for specialized students. High school would definitely be more wild!

Hmm that's an interesting problem. Currently, the attendance tracker is not set up for split class attendance. Currently it just calculates the average attendance. This is for simplicity since a majority of teachers are fairly new to Notion, so I keep it as simple as possible. Adding some kind of split class attendance would add a whole layer or two of complexity: 1. Add a relation property to attendance days for Class. 2. Create multiple "Today" attendance day fields and tag each class separately. 3. Adjust the attendance formulas to include this class relation 4. Have a way to filter for this easily To be honest, proper attendance tracking in Notion is tough. I'm still trying to find the most optimal way to do this and I feel I still haven't properly done it yet.

@@Casey-cu4hh If you just gave permission to the parent to see the one student page that's fine. However, if you made the entire template public or invited the parent to view the student database then they will be able to see the other student. hope this helps!

Figured it out. You have to go into Custom layout and re-add Tasks. This removes it from the Property Group and adds it underneath just like yours

After downloading the template, you should two options: an "old" one which is the one in the video, and the newest updated one without notebooks and bookmark tracker. They have been slimmed down in the new one.
