Unfortunately here in Vegas, there aren’t very many locations to do rail-fanning within the city, but your best bet is along this main line! You want to catch a train at a crossing, your best bet is the LOWER Desert Inn Rd by Trump tower at the intersection of Sammy Davis Jr Drive & Desert Inn (I say lower because there’s 2 Desert Inn Rds right there, and the bridge is the higher one, and you’ll want the lower one). Further north from that crossing near the Arts District is also Wyoming Ave, which has PED gates on it if you’re looking to catch a variety of signals in action, and that one is nearest to where my angle here is, though I was in an empty lot off Charleston Blvd. In Henderson though, on the branch line running to a couple of industrial plants, there’s plenty of crossings you can film at, but train activity is far more scarce on that line compared to the main, so I’d stick along the main line for sure.

Maybe we're both right lol. I think both those plants have rail access anyway. It could be equally possible that those tankers carry supplies for Timet's titanium manufacturing or for Olin's chemicals. But I can see the chemicals more, since there is a box car between the engines and the freight, meaning there could be dangerous and/or flammable stuff in those tankers.

@@shampoto8900 Both plants both have rail although timets is in pretty rough shape and is blocked by like 8 Chain Link fences. So i doubt it is used frequently and Olin has 2 locos and a ton of tankers , I have also heard a rumor that Timet shut down. I dont think it did considering it has a ton of cars and staff in the parking lots.

Nice catch if you caught one at Las Vegas Blvd! Here in Vegas, trains are harder to catch because the line through this city isn't as busy as the ones like in California and Arizona, and there aren't too many crossings on the main line other than the one on Wyoming Blvd, as well as on Desert Inn Rd. If you want to catch a train crossing here, you're best bet would be to catch one similar to this video on what's known as the Henderson Branch, which ironically enough used to be the track that saw the trains that transported building supplies to the Hoover Dam! This train was on that branch, and the branch usually sees about 1-2 trains a day serving either a(n) area of manufacturing facilities near the HWY 95 & I-215 interchange, and/or a plastics plant located near Nevada State University! The branch has an abandoned section with an abandoned railroad crossing on HWY 95 entering Boulder City, but in Boulder City, the remaining section of track from the abandoned crossing into Boulder City is active with what's called the Nevada Southern Railway, which is a short passenger train ride provided by the Nevada State Railroad Museum! Next time you're in the area, you should check it out!
