To say that Charlie was responsible for the downfall of these channels is moderately true. What he's done is raise awareness. Everything else is his reaction. The awareness sent individuals over to those channels and start causing a ruckus. Whether or not Charlie endorsed their actions is irrelevant to the whole that Charlie's involvement is more of circumstance. If merely acknowledging and reacting to reality is the same as "destroying someone", then it's no damn wonder Charlie experienced this much pressure from his own community, who broadened the term to a point where it lost its own meaning.
