I put together the Roxy audio with the Cactus video, it was not a big work because the guys played exactly at the same tempo the gigs (I didn't notice any headphones for a click-track)...they were simply amazing . Keith Emerson 2008: PRELUDE TO A HOPE - Directed by Marc Andre Berthiaume
Переглядів 107 тис.16 років тому
One of the best tracks taken from the "Keith Emerson Band" album, a classic piano masterpiece. Video directed by Keith's friend Marc Andre Berthiaume
Toy Matinee is one of my favorite albums. No filler material... Every song is awesome!
Please re-upload in better quality. Thank you !
Please upload this video in better quality - thank you !
What an amazing band! I've listened to this album a thousand times. Every song is to perfection!
Ok ....That is Sheryl Crow playing keys right?
Kevin Gilbert was such a thoughtful songwriter. His lyrics and music were an amazing contribution to the genre. So sad when he passed
This song is absolutely amazing. Can't believe it is not more well known. A very well constructed song with an amazing chorus. Very well performed too.
I’m just getting into this awesome band. Where was this particular shows venue at ?
Is that Sheryl Crow playing the keys?
I still share this album with everyone I know.
Incredible live performance!
Everyone who likes this you must check out Third Matinee and all four Mr Mister albums!!!
I believe the producer wrote most of the songs.
Yes, Patrick Leonard wrote most of this one. He said it was written with Madonna in mind.
WHY THE F..K ARENT THESE GUYS MASSIVE!!!????
To end this propperly " don't be cruel to a heart that's true!".
Beautiful!
If this one song is all they've made their entire music career, I'd still consider Toy Factory to be up there with the best bands I've ever listened to. It's a brilliant piece of songwriting, an earworm like no other.
At keyboards?
Is that Sheryl Crow doing back up?
Sheryl Crowe rents a lot of space in Kevin Gilbert fans heads
I absolutely love the Toy matinee Album but I think some stuff is dubbed in on this " live" show ! Just check it out, and you'll see what I mean !
It’s written in the description: I personally synced two live shows. The video comes from the Cactus show, the audio is from the live at Roxy CD. Check out the other videos in my second profile (Nando Mortani)
@@SondrioMusica well, they don't match up very well. Hasn't anyone else brought this to your attention ?
@@davidlauter1622 Everybody is happy about my amateur and quick work... I simply put together two different sources, audio and video, as a fan tribute and it seems to be quite enjoyable. Check the other videos by TM. If you are not happy with this, you can ignore it for sure
That's the only film footage I can find, and it's too bad cuz it makes it look like their just a bunch of phonies. The Bass has been dubbed, cuz I'm Hearing a fretLess and What im hearing and seeing doesn't match up. Terrible job ! You made these guys look like fools !
@@davidlauter1622 somewhere out there there are the original videos (I took them from the Marc Bonilla website, but not there anymore). The audio was horrible. The audio that I put over them is taken from the same tour, same setlist... and I have to say, exactly same tempo as they were more or less aumatically synced starting them at the same time. Again: same band, always live, different takes (not too many days one from another), the risult has been appreciated by hundreds of fans all over the world, if you don't like them you can ignore them. Everybody knows the story (two different gigs, synced), so you are the first one in 12 years talking about "bunch of phonies" and telling me "Terrible job!" instead of "Thank you". Take a look to the other songs in the channel
What a find! 1990’s best album without a doubt. Miss you Mr. Gilbert. 😔
Wasn't 1990's best album at all. 1990 a band called Blonz released their self titled record That record though rare was definitely much better quality wise than Toy Matinee. Yes I remember Toy Matinee.
Two totally different types of music and mentalities. They both ended being flashes in the pan, both released one album in 1990, and that’s all they have in common. Toy Matinee were much more detailed sonically, while Blonz was fun, yet derivative. Toy Matinee got a helluva a lot more airplay, too. There’s really no comparison to be made musically. Also, they were each one and done for two totally different reasons.
@kevinodell1502 Ah I seen them both as 90s rock band but I guess one seems a bit harder than the other. Blonz did have "Whats On Your Mind" which is simular to Toy Matinee stuff, I see your point now that I didn't see originally.
@@Malte-Micha Hey, we’re pretty close to the same page. Very cool you saw them live! How many folks can make that claim? Tell ya something else…in my running for 1990’s best album would definitely include Jude Cole’s “A View From 3rd Street”. Track for track, riff for riff, start to finish, it’s “rock” solid. Vocally flawless, seamless harmonies, power pop with a punch. His edgiest track is “Get Me Through the Night”. Check it out if you like. Roger Daltry would be proud of that screaming wail near the end. Curious as to your thoughts.
@@kevinodell1502 I'll look inti the album and artist.
This Band has great songs & they're all excellent musicians
THIS SONG IS GREAT!!! AND THE BAND KICKS ASSES!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!
This was the absolute BEST Rock Album of the 1990s. Brilliant writing, musicianship and production.
Excellent vid. That Spencer Campbell did a good job replicating Guy Pratt's bassline, albeit with a pick. At least he kept the octaver. At this point, Guy was touring witĥ Pink Floyd.
was that Tim Pierce on lead Guitar?
He’s Marc Bonilla
It’s like yacht prog
Absolutely One of the BEST.
Wow! Hecka fun!
This band fucking sucks
That's Sherly Crowe ..at the far end playing keyboards..For her Boyfriends band..Eric Clapton stole her...like he did..George Harrisons wife..Then?. Kevin Gilbert killed himself..was there..Grew up there performing at Hollywoods Magic Castle.1984
Ahhhh what could have been...... : (
I just listened to a KRQR interview with Marc and Kevin from 1991; Toy Matinee's initial tour. What a talented group! Kevin voice is so missed today.
This shit is badd ass!!
Top notch musicianship all across the board but that bass playing is ridiculously hard. That foundation is incredible. The rest just as good. OMG
I'm curious how much of the song writing did Kevin do in TM, it was really Pat Leonard's project.
Wish I could find this lp on vinyl
E da pura emozione un grande ci mancherai maestro 😢😢❤❤
Excellent!
such an honor to know Kevin. Such a loss. uber talented and very funny. I miss him everyday.
How do you have this footage
I found it in Marc Bonilla’s website
That pause @ 3:44 is soooo damn clean.
A true San Jose legend.. I was waiting outside that gig and told him how proud of him that he made his dreams come true! I hadnt seen him since he left for LA ..so it was a moment for us both.. miss Kev greatly.
Does anyone know who the left handed lead guitarist is? Tim Pierce, the original guitarist in Toy Matinee, is right handed.
He’s Marc Bonilla of course
Thank you! He is an outstanding player.
What a shame to have lost such a huge talent so early
If not for this guy, Sheryl Crow would be nothing. RIP Mr. Gilbert
she is nothing, a fake phony fraud. kevin, david and dave and kevin made her first album.
By the time I'd heard (for the first time) the first half of the first verse, I thought, "Ah, we have some very smart people here." For any fans who have not listened to The Shaming Of The True - get it!
That’s not Tim pierce wtf
