Hey, welcome to DDO - you're fine, luckily fighter is pretty basic; you can always 'lesser reincarnate' which will allow you to rebuild your levels and feats from scratch, making all your own custom selections. You could also talk to Fred in House Jurasco to swap out individual feats if you did not want to spend money on the lesser heart of wood for the lesser reincarnation. There presently is no way to earn lesser hearts in game (a massive grip of mine) but something you could do too, if you are planning to reincarnate at all and acquire heroic past lives, you could just do a heroic heart of wood and reincarnate and take the fighter life, then if you do another fighter or any other class you know now to select custom. @@McmxtTV Thanks! I tried to search the old and the new forums but I could only find the new Chaosmancer build. I have an old Tiefling fire sorc alt build that is very far out of date that I wanted to try to at least get up to date on feats and gear. It is currently a fire sorc/ek split for medium armor use, non-ruin build and has gotten very outdated and its performance is very sub-par. I'm hoping I can LR revamp it to at least be able to run R1's when my main is TR'ing. Definitely interested in trying a ruin build and probably dumping all/most of EK for the Feydark universal tree.

OK - I can make a fire build and post on the new forums under sorc, i will post the link here when its there, tiefling pure sorc; usually i use feydark not EK, I will also assume that you have a 28 point build since it will be on the forums, but if you have more, even better. So right off the bat however, a decision needs to be made - do you like the tiefling scorch? Usually I skip it because in heroics I play sonic/lightning (for the fast movement) I don't touch fire till epic lvl 20, so I don't need the tiefling scorch bc at 20 I can dr strip and force mobs to take my fire dmg. But if you play heroic and want a dr strip, that will eat points away from the build until you get to 20 and can spec out of it.

That would be fantastic, thanks! This character sits at cap so heroics aren’t an issue right now and while I did level as fire and used the Tiefling scorch, I’ve spec’d out of it now.

Looks like DDO builder just did a major update - none of my old builds are loading and the new program is kicking a bunch of bugs - working on getting it but this new program isn't letting me (for example) select feydark as a sorc, so I think it needs a patch - ddo builder is the program used to make builds to post on the forums etc; once I get it sorted I'll post the link here.

Since you asked, at one time (like 1000 years ago) I was one of the richest players in the game who controlled the deco market/GTN - I had a billion creds back when 50 million was being super rich. I made it all off rare/ultra rare decos. My guild ship has about 500b creds worth of decos in it. I am a deco fanatic, designer, if you've ever seen my ship or strongholds i really enjoy building and hoard rare decos. The recent GTN redesign pretty much killed our ability to farm creds on the GTN however, much to my annoyance.

For ranged, I think Shiradi is best, I use a very similar mix on my monk star thrower. I've covered it before in other videos how Exalted Flight is an S-Tier+ ability that is way better than any other and as a result makes any build stronger - and suggested because of that they needed to make other destinies have access to an EF like ability because right now its too 1sided with everyone needing to take Exalted Angel just to get EF. My testing on Dreadnought was fun but I went with shiradi.

I think they just updated that quest to 'fix' it - its possible that they broke it again.

Drow is my favorite D&D race/species so I prefer they make drow that appear a bit cooler that this flakey one but it worked for the story.

Hey thanks, I implied it in the talks about microtransactions, but it is something that I could probably make a separate video about; I skipped iconics completely so when I do their video, I will add the racial/species lockouts. I really think DDO should adopt PoE's monetization model - I really do think PoE has one of the best on the market - the game's completely free, but you can buy cosmetics and conveniences - nothing that boosts your power - but there's lots and lots of cool things to buy to support the game. Many of DDO's a-la-carte pay items are very dated from when freetoplay was new and first introduced, the market is vastly different now thanks to games like Genshin Impact and other gatcha games - Genshin is also totally free, but they monetize characters, weapons, cosmetics, conveniences - so its 100% pay to win, but you could still play the game 100% for free - all the gameplay systems are available.

Those wings are very soyboi, but they are one of the most sought after Hardcore League rewards behind the bloody footprints which makes them FOMO, though that footage used for the video was not selected for FOMO, but because it was from the Ilithid event, since statistically ddo traffic increased by people having played BG3 looking for more D&D in a video game. Also, I agree with you that the wings could be more animated, however, of the DDO wings, they are the most animated, followed by the year of the dragon blue wings, and the Reaper wings (which do not move at all no matter what you do)

I played an frost caster druid for a long time - was very strong and fun. I did not run around as a bear but as a water elemental. for DL never say never - there is new material being written and published by the original authors, we will be getting new stories, new modules for pen and paper, and considering it is one of richest back stories in all of D&D i wouldn't be surprised if we got movies, tv shows, and video games for dragonlance too.

@@McmxtTV I just hope the authors get to keep control of the dragonlance property though. They have always put so much love into that World and its characters. The dragonlance chronicles were one of the biggest influences When I was playing tabletop D&D When I was younger.

I am generally enjoying these new quests a lot - my favorite is the music quest so far

hey very cool - welcome to the game - yes your voice will give you 5% more, so you want to stack that with your ship and xp potion, and you can stack those with any events and the legendary reaper x2 bonus.

DCD = Defensive Cool Down (so, some part of your build that you activate to boost your defenses; HOTs are DCDs etc.)

I really liked the EA Epic Moment, really cool to be able to turn anything. I agree loss of the heal aura hurts; EA is a very good destiny, I usually do Primal Avatar for my minion enchanter build, but EA is really good too.

that's cool, i havent tried a melee warlock but Ive seen people play them; im hoping to find a cha ring since it looks like any ability will spawn.

you have a great idea, yeah, and i actually collect the bigbys, and you're right they do work, but you have to be at the location to drop it; what im looking for is something like a marker that you can drop on the map and then navigate to it before you've been there. the best we can do is highlight a quest entrance and then that shows up on the map as an arrow. Would likely be really simple for them to just add a marker to the map.

Also I have no idea how to open that chest either

I think taking the capstone is always a solid idea, usually the best for any build unless you are doing a specific multi-class. I thought that sunder soul was broken and not working correctly because I couldn't get it to proc; and I was doing so much damage anyway that it really didn't matter. I would like to find out if it is broken or functioning, so will ask around.

@@McmxtTV I'll have to play with it again, see if it works any different. I've been using the Ravager capstone with Visage of Terror and that seems decent.

I did experiment with ravager as my off tree for dragon lord and it was strong extra damage; my dragon lord was main stat charisma so the capstone from dragon lord was a better option for me. The great thing about dragon lord are all the options, really fun archetype.

This fall the new 2024 books are releasing, DM guide, player handbook, monster manual, etc - what I read in the article from wizards of the coast is that artificer was dropped from this new players handbook. That doesnt mean its removed from 5e or existing modules or campaigns, obviously any DM can home brew whatever and allow classes/races from any ruleset. I haven't seen the new players handbook, but was surprised by the news because artificer is pretty fun. I think it references what we know from DDO though, that Eberron and the quasi-steam-punk-robot-magic-gun-powder fantasy is way less popular than the traditional quasi-tolkien high fantasy of the Forgotten Realms. Likely there will be more news about these new books and I will cover it.

If you allure the front door, or sneak around the back and do the extra fight, both routes lead you to the exact same hall that you go down - I mention that in the video; if you have the allure you can skip one fight.
