I wanted to submit another similar cover for Soundole's contest to show my growth over the last year, and I'm very happy with the results! This cover is a good taste of what's to come from me this summer, as I am going to try to pick back up regular uploads on Saturdays. Wow, Adam, you've developed as a producer so much in a year! I was so impressed by your entry last year, too, and I think you're on the up and up! I really like the texture you've set up here, your rhythm section sounds absolutely fantastic, I adore your kit and auxilliary percussion sounds, that splashy ride is just perfect. I can only offer very minor (and pretty subjective) suggestions on what I'd like to see if I were mixing: I might want to occasionally bring up your piano sound, use envelopes to shape the note cut-offs of the melodica, and maybe change articulation in the strings so the chords aren't all using fade-in attacks (especially where they're supporting a clear continuous harmonic line). One other little thing - I think the quick decay of the ukulele necessitates ornamenting or elaborating on a melodic line to keep it going; your solo later in the piece sounded appropriately dense, but that melodic duet earlier occasionally sounded a litttle sparse to me. It's hardly an issue though, because you're doing excellent work creating melodic filler with that vibraphone part! I'm so impressed with how you're developing as a player, and I'm looking forward to seeing where your work takes you in the future. Thank you for being part of this competition again!
