Nice work
Thanks.
I've noticed NOBODY offers to buy all the bowls etc. show on hundreds of you tube videos .....so what happens to them?
Absolutely stunning piece of turning. 👍Lovely selection of wood for the turning. Only one negative comment, please lose the long sleeves of the shirt! You will know that one catch of a loose thread etc and your turning days could be over !😫
Thanks for watching and commenting. Your worning is noted. Appreciated.
thank you for showing and talking about your mistake. We all learn from them. I'm curious, what kind of handle is that on the spindle gouge?
Thanks for your comment. Appreciated. This handle I bought from "Hope Woodturning" (hopewoodturning.co.uk).
Well done sir, beautiful.
Thanks. Your kind comment is much appreciated..
Very nicely done
Thanks. Thank you for watching and commenting. Appreciated.
I am al ost speechless! What a masterpiece of work!
Thanks for your fine comment. Appreciated.
Sigurdur; thank you for another great video. The box is simply beautiful!
Thanks. Glad you like it. Thanks for your comment. Appreciated.
Thanks for showing us the process. For this kind of project (bowl, plate), I often regret that the beautiful outside is not really seen.
I have the same thoughts. The bowl needs to be placed high to show the underside but then you probably dont see the top side. Thanks for your comment. Appreciated.
Your skew work is excellent
Thanks. Your comment is appreciated.
Love it!!!
Glad you like it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Appreciated.
Very nice. Gonna give it a go.

@@SAr-Woodturning you're very welcome...by the way, I love your accent 🙂.
You are a master and watched your Lidded Box demo a number of times. I am 86 years young and just starting in wood turning.I appreciate that you mention all the tools and gouges and their bevel angles. You make it look easy but I am finding it quite a challenge and realise it will take me years, but then time is not really on my side. Thank your for sharing your projects.
Thank you for your kind remarks. "86 years young". Impressive, but as long as you are interested in learning new skills you stay young in heart and mind. I find that rule no. one in learning woodturning is to always start the cut with the bevel rubbing on the wood. Then rotate or lower the gouge until you see a fine shaving forming at the edge of the gouge. As long as you have the bevel in contact with the wood you have control. After a while, this becomes second nature. Best of luck with your turning.
simple is so pleasing sometimes thank you
Thanks for you comment. Appreciated.
Nice job.
Thanks. Glad you like it.
Love the style, thank you.
Thanks. Appreciated
An excellent demo of thread chain g and a great little box, despite the slight imperfection. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks. Appreciated.
Hi ,where did you find the insert for the tea light candle
I got the inserts from a shop in Denmark. Link: www.traedrejerbutikken.dk/shop/lysholdere-olielamper-21c1.html
Good job. You inspired me. Have you sold anything?? what's the price??
Thanks. Glad you like it. I have not tried to sell any and have not considered a price. Thanks for com menting.

Great stuff... where did you get that negative rake circular?
Thanks. Thank you for watching. Appreciated. I bought the negative rake scraber from Hope Woodturning. hopewoodturning.co.uk/
Mr. Arason, another beautiful piece. It looks like Japanese ceramic. I've seen this technique done on canvas by blowing through a straw but never thought to apply it to a turned piece. A great idea!
Thanks. As so often is the case, there is nothing new under the sun. I can not clame this as my idea. I saw this methode in someboddys video. But thanks anyway for watching and commenting. Appreciated.
Mr. Arason, that's a beautiful piece. I've done string pulls on canvas before but it never occurred to me to try it on a bowl lid - a great idea. Also, here in the US, Behlen's makes a grain filler that I've used before with good results on oak and mahogany and I believe that it's still available from Woodcraft. Hope this helps.
Thanks. It often works fine to implement good ideas from one media to another. Thank you for watching and commenting. Thanks for the information on the grain filler. Appreciated.
Very nice work, Thank for sharing Sigurdur. Dave UK
Thanks Dave. Thanks for watching and commenting. Appreciated.

What sort of paints do you use Sigur
I used Jo'Sonja Orodescemt Colours. Jo’Sonja Iridescent Colours: www.josonjas-ukshop.co.uk/ Jo’Sonja Flow Medium: www.josonjas-ukshop.co.uk/ Thank you for watching.
What do you find to be the benefit to roughing out a blank with a skew when spindle-turning? I watch another guy do the same thing, but I just can't wrap my head around why it would be more beneficial to do it that way. Better finish in your opinion or just preference? I use my roughing gouge to the point of it being true and then I'll hit it with my skew to make it look pretty. I guess starting with the skew just yields faster results? Amazing piece my friend, I like it quite a bit.
Thank you for watching and commenting. Much appreciated. I tend to use the same approach as you describe. Especially if the item I am turning starts out with a very rough, uneven surface. But sometimes I use the skew for roughing out. Mostly for practice like in this case. I don’t use the skew much and I feel I need all the practice I can get.
@@SAr-Woodturning You know, there's a hell of a video that I watched not too long ago and I'm gonna find it for you. It worked wonders for me when it comes to the skew and perhaps it could help you as well.
Fascinating coloring technique. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Mike for watching and commenting. Much Appreciated.

Really impressed with how you used the string to apply the JoSonja paints.......Brillant Idea!!! This looks very stunning and so Professional......Super Job!!
Thanks. I cannot claim to be the author of this method. Nothing new under the sun! I saw this first demonstrated by Wayne the Woodturner “@WaynetheWoodturner». He has several fine videos about colouring. But thanks for the comment and thanks for watching. Appreciated.
