Why use a 3D curve for this? I have been using 2D Curve for years. I get the same results but everybody uses 3d in these videos with no explanation.

you can't really report a distance between two lines that why it wont work. Plus, Calypso is the most inefficient CMM measuring software I have ever seen in my 26+years in the Metrology Industry.

I'm trying to learn the software. I downloaded and installed Calypso but it says it needs a dongle to run. Do I need a dongle to run the software?

I have a question, actually we have an edm machine in our lab (Mitsubishi FX-20K wire) and it usually works under submerged condition. But I would want to work under unsubmerged condition. Can you please guide me how to do it?

Hello Professor Wickham, While measuring the profile of a free form surface we take space points, So for a point if the profile shows -0.08 deviation do i consider it against the direction of arrow of the Y or do i consider it -ve against the direction of the arrow of the space point? I am stuck on it and your response will help me a lot

I have a question. Now, my trainer only showed me how to make 2d curves, as that is all he knows, and his notes from the previous programmer (who was mostly self taught) advised to UNCHECK the box for "Re-calculate Nominal Geometry" when creating circles from 2d curves. So I've been doing that, but now I've seen your video and also another one from Elliott Matsuura where they did NOT uncheck that box. And it looks like they've been able to generate circles and lines that appear where they should. So am I doing it wrong by unchecking the box? Maybe my instructor misunderstood the programmer when taking down his notes. I suspect this has something to do with the fact that my 2d lines which I've taken from the curves have not been useful at all when I try to get distance characteristics from them.
