      Hello, you are right, unfortunately there is no coffee maker in the rooms. You can get your morning coffee at the sports bar close to reception. They make good coffee there. Including lattes, cappuccino, mocha etc. they serve regular coffee at the buffet restaurant as well. I would suggest you message the hotel directly and check if you can request one. I never asked but they might have coffee makers on request.

      Hi there. The pool with the swim up bar is adults only. Has a pretty nice view of the ocean and it gets very busy in the late afternoon. The other two pools are family pools, and both equally nice. The one closer to the kids area is busier with families/kids, while the other one seems a bit more quiet and more adults than kids tend to be around that one.

      Hello Eduardo. That’s a tough question, mostly because I have never stayed at the Wyndham Alltra. What I can tell you with certainty is that the beach is way nicer and the ocean is better for swimming at the Wyndham. Wyndham is a newer and bigger hotel, but the Krystal Hacienda has character, it is small and has a more private feel to it. I would go back to the Hacienda anytime, but the Wyndham is on my list of hotels to stay at as well. If you are going with kids, I would definitely pick the Wyndham though. Have a great day! Eva

    Hi Eva, thanks for the Video Review. I have been in the Riu Jalisco close there already twice so i wanted to go end of the Year to Vallarta or the Palace. May i ask how the Restaurants are? In Riu Jalisco most of them for example the Asian Restaurant has a bufet and the other speciality restaurants have Carts to Order from. Greetings from Germany. Have a wonderful Day!

    • @evah8826
      @evah8826 Рік тому

      Hello DarkRelic from Germany! The restaurants at the Vallarta are very similar to the ones at the Jalisco but a bit better quality food and better selection. A la carte restaurant are the same themes, Italian, Mexican, Steakhouse. The big buffet and the Asian buffet at the Vallarta has a better selection and in my opinion, a bit higher quality food. I haven’t stayed at the Palace yet, but I have seen a few video tours of it. It is a nice place and definitely more private and higher class. Although I keep hearing that it is a quiet place, not a lot of nightlife/partying. We are planning to book the Vallarta next time again. I love the rooms there and the pools as well. Also super close to the Jalisco so if I need a change of scenery, it’s an easy walk:) If I find a great deal at the Palace, of course I would book there too. Would love to check it out and compare the three Rius- price for value. Sounds like you liked your stays at the Jalisco if you have been twice already so I have no doubt you will love the Vallarta and Palace too. No matter which one you will choose.

      Hi Joshua. Winter months are definitely more expensive but I found that both the Riu Jalisco and Riu Vallarta were well priced, and in my opinion the best value. At least they were in February this year. February is peak season but we got a pretty good deal. We paid $1100 per person. There are some amazing deals right now, I’ve seen the Jalisco one week all inclusive package on Sunwing direct flight from Calgary in June for less than $800 per person. Who knows where the prices going to be next year but I think 2k for two weeks is a good estimate. Yes, all the food and drinks are included (except some specialty options of course such as private romantic dinner on the beach or if I remember correctly, there was a special kind of steak and seafood at the steakhouse you had to pay for. And some specialty wine also). We were quite happy with the food selection and a la carte restaurant menus and drinks were just fine too. It is a fun place and a lot to do. Watch my Riu Vallarta video as well for comparison. Nicer property, freshly renovated. Sometimes the price difference is very minimal between the two hotels and if it is, I would choose to stay at the Vallarta:)

      Hello Iris. They don’t ask for your credit card info when you check in so there is no security deposit. At check out they would charge you for anything extra, like if you lost a towel etc and they are pretty strict about those things. And yes, all good and drinks all included. Some hotels have higher end alcohol you have to pay for but I don’t believe this hotel offers that. I saw some deals from Calgary in May and June for under a $1000 per person. Even with some blemishes this hotel has, faj deal like that is amazing in my opinion. I would totally go back if I had the time to take off work:)

I'm looking at visiting this resort and hoping to get some feedback on Riu Vallarta 🙂 I never been to Puerto Vallarta (had been to Mayan Riveria side a few times) and wanted to know the following: -How's was the food for la carte and buffet? -Can you book in advance for a la carte or go in line up the same day? -How's the comfort of the beds and cleaniness of the bedrooms and resort? -How was the daytime activities such as beach volleyball, zumba, etc? -How was the nightly entertainment? -Any salsa dancing? -How was the beachfront? Any seaweed right now? -Any nearby places to visit for cultural explorations? Thank you in advance.

      Hello Cindy. I have been to many Mexican vacation spots in the past 25 years and PV is definitely one of my favourite destinations to go to. I love the feel/vibe of the city and surrounding area. I have never felt unsafe. I will try to answer all your questions; the main buffet is decent, good selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We really liked the Asian buffet option for dinner too. Probably more than the regular buffet. A la carte: we dined at the Italian restaurant a couple of times and we really enjoyed it. The salmon was our favourite. Steakhouse was very popular too, we had other family members dined there and they loved it. We did not try the Mexican at this hotel. You have to line up in the evening, there is no advanced booking. I was annoyed by this first but it didn’t take long to get in. You get a disc which vibrates when the table is ready. So you can have a drink or go for a walk etc while waiting. - Beds were very comfortable and rooms are newly renovated and clean. Overall the resort is kept tidy and clean. - daytime activities: my daughters played beach volleyball every day. Both on the beach and in the pool. They have other fun pool activities during the day as well. Boogie boards and kayaks are free to take out. I think there is always things to do. We all had fun. - excursions: we haven’t been on one for years so can’t really give you an up to date answer here. I would recommend going into downtown PV and explore there. The Malecon is great with lots of cool restaurants, old town, authentic churches and buildings etc. we heard that the Pirate ship excursions are fun, especially the one that goes to an Island where they have entertainment and dinner set up. If you like walking, walk into Bucerias on the beach. It’s a bit of a distance but relaxing and good exercise too:) - beachfront is good. No seaweed. There are more palm trees and shaded areas by the Riu Jalisco. Easy 3 minutes walk to get there. I hope you will have a great time if you end up booking here! 🌴

      Hi Nancy, The food was okay. Definitely not the highlight of this hotel but it was not bad. We enjoyed the Mexican and the steakhouse a’la carte restaurant very much and the dinner buffet had a decent selection as well. My complaint there was that some of the main course dishes were cold at times. I think this place had good desserts. Better tasting and quality than the Riu we stayed at in February. And the Starbucks has yummy desserts too. Couple of the nights before bed we stopped for this small round chocolate mousse cake dessert there:) Morning and lunch buffet is adequate. Even my other half who is a picky eater had no problem finding food he enjoyed. We spent most of our time on the Hacienda side which is adults only. I would go back there in a heartbeat. It was quiet, always had vacant sun beds and I just love the vibe there. We had most of our breakfast there too, once again, just a more relaxed and serene setting. The infinity pool and sushi place on the Kids friendly hotel side is super cool too and that’s adults only as well. Watching the sunset from there is a must. I didn’t like the beach and we didn’t spend much time on the beach or in the ocean at all. It is not bad for walking though:) If a nice beach is important to you, find a hotel closer to Bucerias or further out by Punta de Mita.

A while ago we stayed at the Grand Palladium, that was a nice hotel too and fun for kids. Stayed at the Barcelo which is at the other end of PV, beach is nice there and it is close to the zoo. Also stayed at Velas Vallarta which is more pricey and not that great with kids. Stayed at a couple of lower star hotels years ago, like the Royal Decameron and Samba, I would not recommend those.

    • @evah8826
      @evah8826 Рік тому

      Hello Elena, thank you for your message. The rooms are much nicer at the Riu Vallarta as the rooms recently went through renovations. We stayed at a standard room at the Jalisco and other than it being a bit dated, it was fine. We did switch rooms as our first room had two double beds pushed together, which we found uncomfortable so we asked for a room with a king size bed. The first room did have a musty smell and was more than usual humidity inside the room. This is not unusual in Mexico though. Our second room was in the right wing of the hotel (right side when you face the ocean, and it was definitely better. You can hear noise coming from the hallway and others slamming doors but the out facing rooms are more quiet than the inside facing ones. So short answer is Riu Vallarta has nicer rooms but you pay more. Sometimes the price difference is minimal so if you are not on a tight budget, I would book the Vallarta.

Having said that, I did see a lot of people smoking in the beach area of the hotel and of course there is a designated smoking area on the beach and three designated smoking areas in the hotel as well. As for rum and tequila brands: rum for sure they have the Bacardi brand - white and dark rum, but they don’t have Captain Morgan. They have the Malibu coconut rum too. Tequila- Don Julio, Casadores, Patron and Jose Cuervo what I can remember. I don’t remember seeing Havana Club. Hope you have a wonderful time at this resort!:)

      Hahaha, I swear this comment could've been written by me. I'm travelling there with my wife in a month and I'm also curious about cigar smoking areas, as well as the types of tequilas they have and whether or not they have Havana Club. It's the only rum I drink now if I have the option.

    • @evah8826
      @evah8826 Рік тому

      Hello! I didn’t find this hotel loud at all. It is far enough from busy city roads so you don’t hear the traffic. It os not a “party hotel” so after the nightly show, it gets pretty quiet. They do have weddings occasionally on the family side hotel which can be a bit louder but I think wedding parties are done at midnight. There are beds on the beach, and there are a few queen size beds with comfy pillows as well, I believe those are for rent. I didn’t like the beach section of the hotel that much so didn’t spend much time there. The Hacienda side was very tranquil and amazing for relaxing.

This location looks pretty good too.

      I really liked the location too. So close to the airport and downtown PV/Malecon. I would go back to this hotel for sure, especially when they have good deals, and have a room next time on the Hacienda side. We are planning to go back to PV in February and this time stay in Nuevo Vallarta, closer to Bucerias. Beaches are a bit nicer there and still pretty close to the airport. Couple of hotels I’m watching have great prices on direct flights from Calgary for a week all inclusive. It’s the Riu Jalisco and the Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta. One of our friends just came back from the Riu and did a walk through for us at the Krystal. They liked both. We will do a video tour again:)

I know being vegan is more restrictive, so I wish I could give you a better answer. I can tell you they have a salad bar with lots of vegetables and there is a nice selection of fruits too. They alway have main course/side dish vegetable or beans meals. We enjoyed having guacamole and salsa for lunch or a nice light salad at the snack bar on the Hacienda side.

      @evah8826 Рік тому

      Hello! With the baby you have access to the main pool which is quite large and have more shallow areas for the kids. Super easy access to the beach. The beach has a good number of beach chairs and when we were there, we always found empty ones. The beach is okay, but definitely not the white sand and turquoise color water. I’ve seen lots of families with little ones and they seemed to have a good time. The only downside I guess is that you can’t spend time on the Hacienda side or the infinity pool/sushi bar.

    • @evah8826
      @evah8826 Рік тому

      Hi Rachel, I’ve been to many (20+ all inclusive vacations) in Mexico, DR and Cuba and Mexico is definitely better when it comes to food and selection. The food and selection was okay, but don’t expect to be blown away. It was not bad though and I don’t agree with those negative reviews. Breakfast - both buffets had a decent selection. Omelette station, hot breakfast such as sausages, bacon, potatoes, Mexican traditional dishes, pancake, waffles, pastries, yogurt, cereal etc. Lunch - buffet at the kid’s friendly side has a great variety of stuff and on the Hacienda side, it’s salads, burgers, hot dog, breaded chicken and fish - desserts. Dinner - buffet is theme dinner each night. My boyfriend is a picky eater and he always found things to eat. Sometimes we found the food not hot enough. But no issues with it not being fresh or no selection. A’la carte restaurants were pretty good! Oh and if you decide to go to this hotel, stop at the Starbucks in the evening and pick up one of their little dessert plates. The round chocolate one is so delicious:)

      Hello Yen, the hotel never felt crowded, even on the weekend when they had a large group there for a wedding. The family side always seemed more busy and louder but I wouldn’t call it crowded. Part of the hotel was closed off though for renos when we were there so most likely the hotel gets more busy when at full capacity. I do love the stay at one, play at two set up (for adults) it does give you more variety where to spend your day or part of the day:)
