Mitch isn't the coach we want for Spurs. Pop will return for sure, but not so fast. For now, CP3 is the real coach on court.

Stop making excuses for Devin. He is not at all showing he is a Robin. His on ball defense is not good. His team defense is solid. He is the highest paid Spur in his fifth season. He is not a rookie or second year player.

🏰... Do you know who have the worst True Shooting this season? Not Russell Westbrook #6 at 51.4%. Not Zaccharie Risacher #3 at 48.9%. Not Alex Sarr, #2 at 48.7%. But the most inefficient player of the NBA: Stephon Castle The guy is sooooo inefficient! FG 38.4% 3P 27% FT 70.8 => True Shooting: 47.8%. Scoot 'BUST' Anderson had a BETTER TS (48.9%) last season and he was #1 WORST TS of the NBA! (followed by Sochan (51.3%) who was so bad on offense last season) And those who say he have D! Yeah his highlights looks nice but he make so many mistake on D too, in fact his Defensive metrics are below league average (-0.8) it looks good comparing to KJ (#14 worst D of the NBA (-2)) or Vassell (#35 worst D of the NBA (-1.4)) or HB (#40 worst D of the NBA (-1.3)) but it's still a negative impact on Defense. I don't say he's a Bust, but he's not ready at all!

it was the 3rd game i watch live .. at the end of the 4th qtr idk what happened .. we couldn't get a rebound ... also no one was covering bridges for most of the game .. wemby was doing wemby things and JS was awesome but Devin had a bad game and that is what killed us imo .. It was a gut wrenching loss but the silver lining is we have a good team and a deep roster anyway GSG always and forever

At this point in the developmental process - the question is just who has a chance to be a part of the next great Spurs team. A new backup center, especially one in Jakob's age range, is something you grab when you're the OKC thunder and you just got out rebounded by the Mavs in your conference semifinals matchup, not when you're a team fighting for the play-in.

I think abandoning a development strategy 30 games into a season is how you end up with the Luka Doncic/Pozingis Mavs. I would hope Spurs fans are a little more patient given our history but maybe it's the youth talking

Christmas wishes: Stephon and Jullian developing more consistency on 3pt shooting (both below league ave.). Trading Branham & Collins for value. Everyone getting and staying healthy. BTW - Tre Young listed as "Probable," for ATL. Zach Collins listed as "Doubtful," Keldon and Tre Jones listed as "Probable" for the Spurs. We'll lose to ATL and beat POR.

I think its unfair to Keldon to compare him with a 3&D player. People forget most of Keldon's minutes are with Zach Collins on the floor. That can't be easy to deal with. Julian almost exclusively plays minutes next to Wemby. Also Julian only catches and shoots. That's his entire role, but in closing minutes you need a bit more diversity on the floor. That's why you saw the Spurs finish games with Keldon when he's healthy over Julian. Julian is great for the Spurs but like many other role players we've had, he is getting a boost from just playing in a system that always showcases corner shooters above their level

I think the big thing for me in terms of surpassing my expectations is the improvements the young guys are having, which if they just keep improving many of them will be amazing. Maybe this year Sochan becomes a great rebounder, then next year he becomes a better shooter. Maybe now Wesley is a fun defensive engine, but next year he becomes an all around player when CP3 is gone and he has space to play. Maybe Wemby isn't shooting 43% the entire time, but he showed he can shoot high percentages for many games so its just a matter of time. Maybe Collins wont be on the team next year. There is a lot of inner growth and I expect more and that's the fun part of this team. When we look back in 2035, we will say this was the worst team of the past decade of Spurs basketball. The road is only up from here

We feel like a .500 team this year. Both in terms of success and disappointment. Obviously we could still get better and I expect Wemby to get better over the year as well, but we might end 41-41 which would be overachieving, but at the same time likely wont make us a playoff team. Granted if we take the Rockets path from last year to this year, we will be a West contender next year already

I don't know that I know much about our but I know one thing .. we are much better than we were than last season .. half of the games we won this season we would've lost last season cause of the 3rd qrt curse we just couldn't close easily winnable games and I hope we keep getting better

it was a tough loss , woke up before the 4th qtr it was a 4pts game thinking cool I'll watch the rest on my way to work , when I got out of the shower I saw that they went on a streak and we were stuck on 73 pts for a while with a few minutes left I was like " welp , guess im just watching the highlights" lol but I'm not worried ... we just got Sochan back and DV is only back for 2 games , it takes a little time for chemistry to develop, anyway ... forever GSG !!!

Talking about the starting 5 ... Maybe Jeremy comes out of the bench but is part of the closing 5 would be the right way to go. All this only if Devin stays healthy

Wemby wasn't good at all in first half (not in rythm and usually in late defensively) But in Q3, he starts his game to finish in Q4 with several clutch plays (blocks, 3-point shots and several beautiful assists). If he would have played a whole game, it would have been a major performance... shame...

The main question is who the starting SG is and who will finish the game in Q4. I would use Devin Vassel to start as he can bring more points and better 3-point percentages. But in Q4, we cannot pass on the defense of Castle. He is à much more impacting player in Q4 than Vassel. And if Castle starts to develop an interesting jumpshot (on the 9 last games he is 44% and 36% at 3!!!), as he will be an elite defender, a question could appear next year : will the Spurs need to trade Vassel ? (To bring an elite PG or SF)
