Partitioning Additive, Dominance & Epistatic Genetic Effects Using an Animal Model - VSNi Webinar
The Animal Model is a popular tool in quantitative genetics, enabling researchers to separate additive genetic components from other genetic and environmental influences by incorporating a relationship matrix, often derived from pedigree data. Watch this insightful webinar recorded by Dr. Salvador Gezan, a statistician and quantitative geneticist with more than 20 years of experience in breeding, statistical analysis, and genetic improvement consulting. He delves into the capabilities of the Animal Model, including its extension to estimate non-additive effects such as dominance and epistasis using ASReml-R.
Key Topics
Additive and Non-Additive Components: Learn how to estimate additive, dominance, and epistatic effects using clonally replicated data from a plant breeding programme.
Biological Interpretation and Relevance: Understand the biological significance of these genetic components and their relevance in a breeding programme.
Phenotypic Data Analysis: Discuss the requirements and implications of using different types of phenotypic data for these analyses.
Model Extensions: Explore extensions to the Animal Model that incorporate genomics data, expanding the scope and accuracy of genetic research.

wow very important hint
Can you please tell me how to find ASV and GSI values
yes
This software use in 64 bit System??
Yes indeed it does. You can see the full specifications here genstat.kb.vsni.co.uk/knowledge-base/genstat-minimum-requirements/
Thank you
Thanks to upload this video we will wait for the next one !!
Thank you for the point to point clarification.
You're very welcome Mayuri.
This helped a lot
Really helpful video
Very useful video
Please tell me why does my data on total sum of square come in negative value, in split split plot design?
Nice explanation
Please make a video on graph making in doebioresearch
Nice video. All this can be done in one line using doebioresearch package in R. The name of function is splitplot()
thank for this video cause helpfully. so can you do the new video two treamwnt and three blocks please 🙏🙏🙏?
Hi, after SIM I have 2 markers. When performing CIM, I lose one first round and gain it in the second and cycles between dropping and regaining in subsequent models. Do I leave both in for the final model?
I want to be the number of digits after the interval in the outputs of the program 2 or 3 what is the way if you can
To do that, after running the analysis please go to Analysis of Variance menu window. The Save button is now active, click the button and then select Export to file to save the outputs in the MS excel format which allows you to change the number of the decimal places.
example I need all results 2 decimals . how do that
how determine number of decimals in the output of the result
To do that you would need to save the results and either use PRINT or DECIMALS.
I need linke genstat 18.1
