And mass marketing, brainwashing ppl believe that they need all the scented, lab-made toxic chemicals in their homes, and polluting outside their homes too. It's becoming more urgent every day. This needs to be everyone's focus moving forward.
Making Ecocide the 5th Crime Against Humanity will hold CEO's criminally responsible and give Rights to Nature. Nature must have the right to exist, persist and regenerate. I believe this is the only way to stop the greed driven actions that have no moral compass.
Harsh critic right here 🙋🏽♀️15 years later from this video I'm thinking, wow how trailblazing that the LBC was created in 2006. On the other hand, damn the uptake has been slow. I don't mean to express too much climate anxiety because we have enough fear-mongering around us, but I honestly feel the LBC needs to be mandated, or else! I'm making steps to reduce my convenience (let's call it what it is at least in the short run) and focusing my professional efforts on driving environmentally and socially-conscious values through business: hotels specifically. As he said, it starts with us people (mind, heart, soul).
Hey Jennifer! Thanks so much for your honest words. It is indeed a slow process, but the point of making any change (big or small) is to provoke conversation, show possibilities, and continue to move the needle. It's an endless endeavour of constant ups and downs. The LBC isn't perfect - at the moment nothing is - but it's a prerequisite for change to address our climate crisis. Anything helps! Thank you so much for doing your part, it's important to recognize your own accountability individually. If everyone did this, we'd indeed have a much easier time making waves.
