Is it possible to just record ALL 4 CAMERAS SEPARATELY directly to one caddy? Or do I have to edit on the fly? Will there be 4 individual WAV. files? Thanks

In my screen de D700 looks much better than the other 2 , de z6 looks horrible, dull and can not see the sharpness that you talk in the video.

I’m NOT in love with mirrorless. I sold my Z6 because I did NOT enjoy it as much as my DSLRs. The D3, D3X, D3s, D700 are hard to beat.

Hi mate, Thanks for a great upload. It's very informative and presented in an easy-to-digest form. One question: Is there a way to remotely switch the casting source with a press of a button? I'm a planespotter who streams live outdoors a lot. At the moment, I've got Ninja mounted to the top of my camera rig, and I would love to have the ability to switch camera sources fixed to my tripod handle. Any thoughts? Many thanks Arek

Hi thanks for the video. The higher the mb of a camera the stricter you need to hold it still. There is more latitude the lower you go down. Infor as iso, shutter speed would be helpful. Z6 will be sharp due to stabilisation. D700 would be better due to smaller image size. Put the d810 on a tripod and whatch for no wind and then test again. Awesome, thanks.

Its funny, but 9 out of ten 10 times, the d610 is never matched image quality wise against the d700. I know the d610 doesn't possess the same build quality of the d700, but Ive owned the d610, and d4s, and theres a reason the d610 scored 14 points higher on dxomark than the d700. I know, I know; What does dxomark know about anything?

So, you're telling me I can récord 12 bit with nikon z6ii and atomos? Is that true that I have to send it to nikon to unlock raw?

If you want to do video, buy a decent video camera. Hybrid DSLR and Mirrorless bodies are a bad compromise.

D810 puttin in work!!! I shoot video professionally here recently and honestly, I'd scratch the notation about autofocus in video for either camera. I don't use it at all for video. I can't imagine how this sucker will be when it's upscaled to 4k! I typically upscale my videos to 4k because what I've previously owned(Sony A7 R ii)... Shoots 1080p/60 what a joke! I traded for the D810 which to me, is actually better at everything than the Sony so I'm moving back to DSLR for vids and photos.

Yes but if you’re a person who doesn’t have LR especially with the added expense, then what to do? Who wants to spend all that time editing to begin with?

Awesome comparison video, Would the D200 have a sharp image if printed in the A2 format? I’ve had success with the D700 and wanted to try the older 10mp sensor.

The latest firmware late 2023 has now made my atomx cast work property. I have to have all hdmis connected as actual live feeds for the usb to work with the atomos cast desktop software and its great. What is not fixable is how God damn fragile the connection is. If you even bump the unit anywhere including the base the connection from the battery terminal just disconnects. DO NOT TOUCH THE DEVICE OR MOVE IT IN ANY WAY and you should be good.

now you get it for 50% off btw... Still I think for most people it is not worth it. :-) Just get an 2tb SSD instead of 1tb (if file size is an issue) and you are fine. ;-)

Nice review of this great DSLR, even in 2023. However, I disagree with you regarding ISO 800 as a max. I like the rendering of the CCD sensor event at 1000 or 1200 ISO. I believe it gives character to the photos.

I tried selecting the slot and tap browse so i can replace the file but for some reason, once a file is been leaded, the browse button does not give you the option to reselect a diff file

How dod we change the overlay files inserted on the drive, lets say u have used al 8 lots but you want to replacer old ones with new files, ho

I’m wondering if the ProRes LT might accomplish the same result as h265 HQ perhaps? While allowing a better workflow. There’s some mixed reviews online as some say that LT doesn’t produce a very nice image quality 🤷‍♂️ Do you have any experience with that? Thanks :-)

The D200 is a great camera. It's colors are like film when printed. I have sold mine, and upgraded to a D3s.

Informative. I bought new ninja v and facing yellow kangaroo display . I have used WD blue SA 510 and crucible Nand SSD. Now i have ordered WD blue 3D Nand and see if this gwt resolved ?

A month ago I did a photo shoot where my son shot my old Nikon D 700 next to me shooting a canon r62 and an Olympus OM D. when they were all put into Lightroom, every single person agreed the best shots were from the Nikon D 700. It really bothered me as I have spent so much money on these newer cameras.. so now I’m going back and looking at buying a D8 10 video on the modern cameras is cool, but none of it’s as good as the Olympus. The Olympus just dominates in video.

I'm using Z7II and comparing 12 bit RAW with 10 bit N-Log. While there's improvement with 12 bit, what I'm struggling with are highlights. N-Log seems to do a better job in this case. Looking at the monitor (ninja v) histogram, the highlights show as clipping faster with raw. Sitting on my table, 1/60, F/4, ISO 800 (N-log) the room is visible, a window frame, trees are visible through the window and the sky is blown out. Same settings, RAW: window frame shows some blooming and the trees and sky is now blown out. the highlights are not recoverable in premier. So my question, is this your experience as well? am I missing something? Thanks!

4:16 this right here is the primary reason I'm super hesitant on buying this whole mess. If it had thunderbolt output and could do at least 4K 60fps HDR then it'd be worth it for me as a way to record two 1080p sources and maybe a camera or two If it could record 1080-4K(x4) but output 720p(x4) I could accept that, but what I want to use this for seems very different and honestly I don't know why this exists? It seems geared towards streamers which are mostly gamers so four sources to me is multiple gameplays and webcams like say if you're streaming a competitive game from four computers. 8K output so I could record multiple UHD 60fps is the dream but I dunno if 40gbps is enough data to do that.

I have a Nikon camera with a CCD sensor some of the best colors at low ISO. There is a company called Cobalt Image they emulate CCD sensors with camera profiles and they emulate film really good also.

Mirrorless is garbage. Sold my Fuji GFX50R setup and moved back to my DSLR. I get photos with a gorgeous aesthetic and lovely black and white tones from that sensor. I make concious decisions again when I take my photos and it's very deliberate. I can edit my photos quickly with no lagging because the files are so much smaller, they respond faster. 12MP is more than enough for top quality large prints. Mirrorless is for the lazy, unskilled photographer.

Thanks for this video! I literally just received the Ninja V+ (not the Ninja V) and the AtomX Cast, and out of the box, when attached together, the Ninja V+ (and the CAST) cannot power up at all, even when the cable is correct - the Ninja V+ can power up when it's released from the CAST and by itself. Have you had experience with the V+ and CAST? What do you think might work in my case? (I cannot use the 10.71 firware because this is for V, not V+; the ATOMOS website doesn't have 10.71 firmware for V+ anymore) (I've sent in tickets to ATOMOS and the retailer I nought from, but I was wondering if there's anything else I might try before they reply)

D700 is still king! Not only that, but you could buy a good used D700 and several lenses for the price of the Z6 body. Mirrorless, schmirrorless, you can keep it. I'll keep my D700!

hi! the sooner you move away from Premier the happier you will be. Davinci Resolve has a steep learning curve but is worth it for working with CDNGRAW, BRAW or other formats. if prores and especially proves raw, defiantly Final Cut Pro. it works well on my M1 Mac mini with 16g's. far better than premier with 2x or 3x more expensive PC. If you commit to ProRes RAW (not sure I would) then Mac Studio has extra hardware accelerators for pores and I believe prores raw.. making the Mac studio a power house even in base configuration. I'm shooting mostly BMPCC4K and so I've committed to learning DaVinci Resolve. I won't go back to Premier willingly for anything that I can think of, and for simple prorres FCPX is great on even a Mac mini M1 16g.
