I ran my own business for almost thirty years. I tuned pianos. I always loved it. I also always had a side gig, delivering pizza. LOL Hey, I love to drive. Actually, i found my Morris Minor on a pizza delivery. I had been looking for years.LOL Major props on the decision you've made. It's the hardest work you'll do, and you will love it. And, good time to do it, now you've got the support of all those cool ladies in the WDC. Have fun with it, you're still a kid. When you're in your 60s like me, you won't look back and wonder if you should have taken the leap...
Great video. Classic cars are about much more than money. I worry that all the flip-focused shows have a bad influence . On the one hand they raise the profile of classics and promote practical skills (great) but on the other they focus so much on ££££. I think we all try to rationalise the money we spend on old cars and other hobbies / life passions ... but maybe its good to admit also that the hobby has a lot to do with the heart ... Great to see Peggy looking so well 👏
I wish you every success in your new venture, you deserve it 😊
Sorry to hear what happened Becca, all the best with your new venture, hopefully it works out for you. Shame you were made redundant after not long starting your job. 😊👍
Good luck with your future endeavors, considering your knowledge and enthusiasm, I'm sure you will be successful.
still watching bec from australia with my own 1951 2 door yours is beaut
Fantastic! Thanks for sticking with us!
Thanks again for sharing Becca, great show. Looking forward to seeing Rustival 2. 😊👍
Me too!
Nice to see a Wolseley 6/80 @13:17 (has the longer nose) which is a posh version of the Morris Six MS, big brother to the Morris Oxford MO aka Big Minor.
There was a lot of fascinating cars there, and stuff you don't usually see a lot of, was fantastic!
Hi Becca, Have you read her biography by Roger Farmer, Betty Haig - A life behind the wheel? The Berlin Olympic event was not quite what many people believe it to have been. You did not mention her greatest achievements of winning the 1938 Paris San Raphael Rally and successfully finishing the 1951 Le Mans 24 Hour race.
I'd desperately been looking for one, and it was only after recording this, a friend of mine lent me a copy! Fascinating book! 😊
Thanks for sharing another great video Becca. 😊👍
Thanks for your continued support Allan 😊
Hi Becca, once again many thanks for the Podcast, from Nr Chester.
Thanks for listening in 😊
Another great podcast Becca 😊
Thank you very much!
Lovely to hear more of Peggy's story. This is what makes our Moggies so interesting! Mine started life in England then went to Holland for several years and is now living with me in Ireland!
Ha, they do get around don't they 😂
Hi Becca, a superb narrative of, 'The Life of Peggy.' Many thanks.
Thanks! Was so good to get a better understanding of her history!
Amazing story Becca, thanks for sharing it. 😊👍
Thank you for watching 😊
@@passengerseatpodcast I enjoy supporting your channel 😊👍
What an amazing interesting and fascinating story to be able to add to Peggy’s history. Wonderful 🚙⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Becca: Thanks again for putting together this panel. Great fun, and great honour, to be part of it ... not to mention seeing you again. - best, jv.
Thanks so much for being part of it - looking forward to seeing you (?) and the car again at the NEC!
Hi Becca, kudos to everyone involved in the work. Many thanks.
Hi Chris, thanks 😊
Great looking interior Becca, nice work. 😊👍
Thanks Allan, I'm really pleased with it! 😍
It's nice to see ,that you really personalise the upholstery, as opposed to just putting regular seat covers or an old blanket over them,we'll done girl xxx
You gotta do a proper job when you're this invested in a car!
Those seats really set off the interior, they look fantastic 😊
Couldn't agree more, I absolutely love them! 😍
When I just briefly read the title I noticed "Recovering Peggy..." - I thought she'd broken down! 😂🤣
Ha! Hadn't thought of that! Luckily she's doing fine! 😂
Thanks for sharing Becca 😊👍
Thanks for watching!
Lovely to see a Minor 1,000,000 convertible, I'm guessing that was originally a saloon!
Originally a non million saloon, but absolutely fantastic - I always look at and think it's what they should have done! If you're making a special car, make it a convertible!
@@passengerseatpodcast I'd love to see the interior, because that's what really set the 1000,000s off. I did notice it was white.
Thanks for sharing Becca 😊👍
Driving a classic car in modern traffic can be an interesting experience that's for sure :) I am getting older and softer so my daily driver has the tech and features I like such as air con power windows power steering e.t.c. But it doesn't have the same connection, the driver is not as involved. Driving my classic is a real thrill and taking it out on a Sunday morning for a bit of a blast is pleasure I can still enjoy. Thanks for the video.
You're absolutely right about the connection thing! I wish you many more joyous Sunday drives!
Wyvern, and Trevor, my 1977 MG Midget must have compared notes. I bought Trevor near Yosemite, and decided driving home 300 miles to the desert was a great idea. He finished the last hundred miles on the back of a breakdown truck. It was the first of oh so many rides home with a recovery truck driver. We spent SO much money on that little carmine beauty, but Finally just couldn't anymore, and sold him for half what I had invested. My hubs , as a parting shot, installed another new $30 mechanical fuel pump. The buyer rented a car to drive out from LA, then drove Trevor right back home to LA, called and said he'd had no issues. "What a great little car". So, at least somebody was happy. We had overlooked the obvious, because we had already replaced the %$^&@ fuel pump.
Oh my word! What attitude from Trevor 😂 I think we'd take a trip home on a recovery truck, if it meant we'd had a good run to somewhere first 😂
@@passengerseatpodcast It always seems to be a hundred degree day, when I'm trying to get groceries (think I've cream)home from Aldi or someplace. LoL it does make for stories tho
These type of problems are difficult to sort out, sit down with a nice cup of tea and write down all possible areas and parts that could be causing the problem, then start with the easier ones first or sell it and get a better one. Good luck sorting it out. Bob
Thanks Bob, yes I think a good cup of tea and process of elimination is always a good start!
Nice to hear Peggy is working well. Sorry to hear your having si much trouble with the Spitfire. The washers you were talking about was that the thrust main bearing in the crankshaft? Sounds like another engine might be your best bet. Something rebuildable with a regrind of the crank and new undersize inserts. Hope you find a good replacement engine. Looking forward to your next update.
Yes, weve got a new engine, now just struggling to get it running right 😂
Hi Becca, many thanks for the upload, an interesting story very well told.
Thanks, hopefully we have some good news to share soon!
Thanks for the update Becca. Sounds like Jamie should have bought a Morris Minor. 😆😊
You're not the first person to say that 😂😂
I had several Morris Minor vans during the 1970's/1980's, even one that was badged with the Austin marque. The last one I had was an ex Post Office van, sold for £40 which was about the going rate at the time. My dad had an arrangement with a local garage to buy in Minors that had been part exchanged, he would pay £30 for two providing they were in good condition with long MOT's. He would sell them on for £50 each. I no longer (sadly) have a van but instead have a 1960 2 door saloon, very nice but I do miss my van. Very interesting video Becca, love your content.
Sounds like your Dad had a fantastic deal going withthe local garage! I do htink a van would be a perfect compliment to a saloon, perhaps you need to keep your eyes peeled for one! Thanks for watching!
Sorry for having to be unpolite, but if you are going to manage the RREC-event as you have handled the video footage of the event, i.e. shaky, superficious and out of focus, I'm not going to raise my expectations.
You’re not sorry though, are you? You just wanted to use your anon profile to leave a comment intended to make somebody feel like rubbish. Perhaps instead of writing a load of insulting stuff, you could uplift and congratulate on the new role and maybe politely contact on a one on one basis to discuss how you believe Becca could improve her channel. Becca is doing a brilliant job in her new role and I’ve heard all sorts of feedback through the grapevine that she’s making a lot of great progress. Let’s face it, loads of clubs have been dying to get her on board to work with them, so perhaps her skill set extends beyond a few minutes of video. Sorry that your life is rotten that you’re now incapable of giving feedback in a fair and non humiliating way. Perhaps next time you’ll have the guts to give feedback with your full name and details visible. I somehow suspect not.
Really Becca that is money well spent. That car means a lot to you and you get a tremendous amount of pleasure and enjoyment from her. So if that work gives you another 20 years of happy motoring, then it is good value. It's also an investment for the future. You were fortunate to find a genuine restorer who has decades of experience and really knows what they are doing. I've heard a lot of horror stories ! The trouble is that the people and garages with the knowledge to work on these lovely old motors are disappearing fast. Another reason to encourage young people to get into engineering and restoration work. Very happy for you and your 'voiture '.
Thank you Nigel, I'm glad so many people are seing the exact perspective I had going into it! I too have heard lots of horror stories, so I feel incredibly fortunate!
Fab video. I love that museum.
Its great isn't it? So friendly and interesting!
Thanks for sharing Becca, it sounded like a fun weekend. I would have loved it. I hadn't noticed until now that Peggy's seatbelts were red. 😊👍
They're a recent edition post restoration!
It is NOT pronounced Chrys/ ler dammit. It is pronounced Chry/ sler. sounds like Cry Slur. There are old videos of the man himself Walter P. Chrysler talking about the new Chrysler Corporation, and that is how he pronounced it in the video.
Why do the Brits give the letter A the sound of a letter U? They play sports with a bull, instead of a ball. To us a bull is a male cow.
Nice upload, thanks
@@beachamgroup2482 thank you 😊
Always liked Rolls Royce's. Have more books in R R than any other make. My mother gave me a lot of them for Christmas and the rest I bought myself. Really an interesting history of the men and women that made the company. History of the important part they played in the W W 1 and 2 and the technology breakthroughs they made throughout the life of the company and are still making today. I find any of their history interesting and realize how lucky the world was to have this company at worst times in the past century.
It really is quite a rich history and intertwined with that of Britain 😊 they've celebrated 120year of it this year which is just amazing
Excellent and thank you so much for the ride! I hope you will be able to do some more RREC events. My father was a member and I recall (when much younger!) going to the annual rally which I seem to recall was at Blenheim and indeed the picnics were an art.
I'm sure I will be! I did annual rally before I started, it was fantastic!
Nice video!
Thank you 😊
Thanks again for sharing Becca, glad you're enjoying your new job 😊👍

Hi Becca, my dad was a Rootes fan, Hillmans, Sumbeams, Singers, quite liked them myself
@@chrissmith7655 all the best dads are rootes fans 🤫😂 they are awesome cars
Excellent video and a very interesting interview. The insight to the Rootes cars and Singer club was great. well done. Bob
Thanks for watching Bob 😊

Thanks Alan 😊
This is an example of the best video journalism and thank you. The detailed analysis is really helpful and as you say it was specific to your dearest car but the overview is very important. The cost relative to the value is irrelevant in these situations. You do it because it is your wish and she is now unique. I have just spent nearly half of your total on gearbox and front wheel bearings (that’s Germans!).
Thank you so much for your kind comment! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Gosh I'm thinking my gearbox will be the next thing to improve and I don't want to think about how much that'll be! Hopefully I'll get a fair few miles out of this one as it is!
Lovely job.
Thank you, I'm thrilled with her! 😊
