Man, I wish my tech had the same mindset as you. I brought my pedals with me to church, and apparently he doesn’t like a more bright and colorful bass. He went behind my back and adjusted the EQ on the soundboard and made it WAY too subby and bottom end heavy

Hey kid don’t knock the dad tone. 😂 It made me 6 figures a year as a session and touring player in LA back in the day, put my kid through medical school and still keeps me employed full time when I want to be, most recently touring with the Motown group The Miracles. That said your tone sounds good for what you’re trying to accomplish.

Dude thanks so much for posting this. I’ve been running Mainstage for the last 12 years, and just jumped into Ableton a couple weeks ago. Game changer, and I wish I did it sooner. I also just got the notation launch control, ANOTHER game changer. I love how you have everything laid out. I do have a question! When you send separate outs to FOH, like your grouped sounds, pianos being 1-2, pads/leads being 3-4, tracks being 5-6, sub bass being 7, and click being 8 just for example, how does the sound engineer do the gain staging between all the channels? Does he set them all the same, or does he need to set each one up differently depending on what you’re sending him? I’ve just had trouble in the past leveling my IEM’s when we do separate outputs to FOH. Hope this question makes sense!

The Microsynth is analog. Also, for anyone who would rather not put out the money for a Tone Hammer or similar, the Joyo Tidal Wave is a sort of clone to a SansAmp, sounds great (more transparent than Joyo’s Monomyth), has an XLR out, headphone jack, and a nice drive that can be dialed in. Amazon: $77. Joyo Scylla compressor also fine for bass.

Do you sell your Ableton template anywhere? Would love to mess around with this and see how everything is routed!

Hi David, i love the raw sound of.your bass. I own a MIM Jazz Bass V, but it does not sound too deep on lows as yours, it has the stock pickups, cound that be the issue or the bass itself? Or maybe i need to add the Lorall Neck pickup to make it sound big? Greetings. Great tone by the way.

I'm a little late to the LCXL party, considering how long it's been on the scene. But, I've been looking for something I can use to hand-tweak my plugins. (Me and mice do NOT get along). When I bumped into this little box I thought that it might serve that purpose. But I couldn't find a decent video that showed it's versatility, until now. Granted, I'm not an Ableton guy but a Studio One guy. Yet, if this controller is a versatile as it appears in your video, this should work just fine. Thanks for this nice demo!
