I use one of those mailers each month for the smashy-trashy-junk-journal planners I make. I looooove the squishy, soft covers and they expand real well for all of the goodies I put in them. Your covers turned out beautiful! I especially like the one with the paint and stamped images on it!

These are very cool

I have a bunch of embossing powder, so wanna try this. I think the reason it's taking so long to emboss is that you're doing it on wood and using water means you used more powder, paper is thin and doesn't take long at all. If you have glycerin, it's cheap and can be found in the pharmacy, you can also use that to emboss with. Put some on a spong and lightly rub over your piece, just so the embossed raised area is wet, the powder will stick to that only and raise your embossed area a little higher. Oh, and I worked at a doctors office for a lot of years, we call the large popsicle sticks tongue depressors, lol. 😂🤣😂 Another awesome video Christy, can't wait to give it a try!! 💜💜💜

Sleep on it, babe! as to the corners... try a file? I should work, and I mean a serious metal file. I had a blast watching this. I don't feel quite so bad for having to tear apart a Christmas journal I started last year (I'd only begun doing this back last fall), and I'm trying to find a solution for the cover, and I don't like tossing stuff either!

Its a pretty journal for sure. I dont like the rings for the same reason. But they are convenient for moving pages or adding pages. I'm thinking you have a defective corner, it shouldn't be sharp like that. We call our "mistakes" Secrets. You did a fantastic job covering it up. Thanks for leaving that part in the video. I love the honesty. ❤❤

Good fix Christy! You're right, it is a pretty journal. It's a very pretty journal. I saw one on Etsy where she ties ribbons on the rings. I don't know if she does it for looks or for the purpose that you're talking about to keep the ring from spinning. But I think the ribbon looks really pretty.

Christy I am so glad you do show your mistakes. Although everything turns out great! It makes me feel like I am not the only one that struggles at times. I am embarking a new journey on making journals. Any input is great. You are very down to earth. Love it.

I'm glad it turned out good! I don't know of a way to make the rings stationary, though. I believe they are just supposed to be loose like that. I've never seen loose rings that have been secured.

Oh I love your envelopes Christy!! They all turned out great. Those big junk mail fliers you get are great for using in junk journals; so many things you can do with them! You get much more exciting junk mail than where I live. All we seem to get are those ugly supermarket grocery magazines lol 😆💚💚
